Avatar f tn Try to eat whole grains and all your veggies and fruits. (So easy to say, so HARD to stick with I know!) Weight lifting for strength training is also SUPER beneficial for women, and working out in the morning before eating produces 300% more results (according to the author of body-for-life) GOOD LUCK!
Avatar n tn s a tape specifically for new moms, but generally for anyone who has sort of fallen off the excercise bandwagon, so it was great for me, and i really reccomend it for anyone else trying to ease back in to fitness. It had the weight traning my routine was lacking, as well as aerobic. So far, I've lost four pounds, and most importantly, I've lost them in a way that didn't feel too fast (like with pre-diagnosis ketoacidosis) or too hard.
Avatar f tn I'm not very good at metrics so I converted 56 kg and come up with between 120-129 lb. That's not ideal but I've seen a lot more weight stacked onto a 5' body. You don't mention your body make up; eg: you say you have really big thighs. Are the muscular, a bit flabby, or littered with cellulite? You also didn't mention your age. Losing weight and/or contouring your body is really not that difficult but it does take time.
Avatar n tn (About 1 year ago, I weighed 310lbs....now 260lbs with more to go) I stayed on the same routine and started gaining weight too. My muscle mass was obviously changing. A buddy of mine who is a world class skier and bike racer told me to check my diet and gave me the suggestions I just gave you..... it helped. I hit a plateau, couldnt lose more weight and was becoming frustrated. Here's another key point.
Avatar f tn The easiest way to lose weight is via a reasonable diet, focusing on lean protein, whole grains, low/no fat dairy, lot of veggies and fruit (whole fruit, not juices), "good" fats and moderate exercise. If you would care to let us know something about your current routine, we might be able to help "tweak" it a bit. Do you know if you have any medical issues that could cause weight gain and/or make it difficult to lose?
Avatar m tn You r starving your body and it is holding on to every calorie to keep you alive . Once u get to 1600 or 1800 then will you start to lose weight. Best to eat 6 small meals a day.
Avatar f tn I have reduced my carbohydrates and sugars. I can not lose weight. I weigh 188 lbs and am a 44 year old female. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn now to you that may be okay but I have alot of belly fat . with school starting I need to lose this summer weight how do I start. ?? Please help .
Avatar n tn Have you seen someone to tell you what's wrong with the knee? And you really don't want to lose weight fast -- you want to lose it slowly so it stays off by changing your lifestyle, which will include diet. But if you don't know what's wrong with the knee, it's difficult for you to know what you're able to do safely as far as exercise.
Avatar f tn As soon as my son was born, i breastfed him and returned to my prepregnancy weight in less than a month. Also, i used the waist/stomach band the hospital provided daily and it really helped!
Avatar n tn But again, if you stick to a good nutritional plan and an exercise program, you should be able to safely lose a pound per week, barring any other factors such as hypothyroidism. In 6 months you could be 26 lb lighter! Avoid simple carbs and sugars -including artificial ones- like the plague. Opt for lots of fresh salads, greens and vegetables. Do not even think about fast food, prepared foods, baked goods, convenience and junk foods etc. You know what I mean.
Avatar f tn Hi, I want to lose some weight, but it seem to hard to do it when passed 30's even though I think I eat very healthy, no fast food, fat, fried, junk food instead of fruits and veggies (well, rice sometime) on the week day. On the weekend is optional...a little bit sugar and fat, fried stuff here and there. I do little work out about 30 mins every day on the week day though. Any suggestion?
Avatar f tn Thank you for sharing that. I am trying to lose weightas well. I eat healthy and exercise daily doing yoga. Yoga easiest for me because I am a 22-24. I am happy to see that it is doable. I'm tying to lose 30 lbs by December 31. If I fall short, no biggie. I just keep going. I'm thankful for the 10 I've already lost!!!
Avatar f tn Hello there, Just finished reading your comments. It's good that you want to lose weight to feel more healthy, but five pounds a week is a lot to lose in one week. It's actually safer to lose the weight gradually. I think two pounds a week is a more achievable goal. I wish you good luck.
Avatar f tn reports that diet cycling, along with an exercise program, may be an effective way to lose weight. Always check with your physician before starting any new diet or weight-loss plan. http://www.livestrong.com/article/237566-free-weight-loss-tracking-tools/ The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between.
571042 tn?1271447141 Not that I think I need to exercise, I still am 2lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight, but I think if I try to get into some type of routine, it will be easier for me to lose the weight after the baby comes.
10028419 tn?1416841704 I walk occasionally now but would like to start exercising again to help with weight gain and labor! Any one else exercise? I need tips on whats safe and what I should be doing!
Avatar n tn sorry so long, I do have my own site to see for yourself and read as much as you can and do your research which is why I am now a nutritionist and natural hormone clinician...that is why women struggle to lose weight more than men....blessings to you my new friend.Connie Allen, CNC messengerofhealth.
Avatar n tn I agree with what the others have said. A sauna is not a long term weight loss solution and all the weight you do lose is just water weight that will return very quickly, probably almost immediately. You're better off sweating off the pounds in a gym than in a sauna.
Avatar f tn I have not been able to lose any weight, I walk anywhere from 3 to 6 miles everyday.
Avatar m tn You need to know if you are looking to gain muscle or tone.. Muscle weighs more than fat. To lose weight you have to expel more calories than you take in. Yoga focuses on breathing which is aerobic. If you actually go to yoga classes and get the proper technique you can use it to enhance your exercise. I trained in yoga through the Art of Living Foundation. I agree with routines because otherwise you burn out and don't want to continue exercising.
Avatar m tn The smaller you get the more effort it takes to lose a pound.
