Weight lifting for strength training is also SUPER beneficial for women, and working out in the morning before eating produces 300% more results (according to the author of body-for-life) GOOD LUCK!
776302 tn?1241095453 She says the Herbalife products will stabilize my blood sugar. But I need to lose 55 lbs to get down to 200 lbs to fit into my size 18 clothes and I am tired of losing a few lbs and then gaining them back again. Has anybody had any experience with Herbalife products?
Avatar f tn You don't have to lift heavy weights to lose weight or to shape your bodyp. If you aren't experienced in strength training I'd suggest you join a gym that has a full menu of exercise equipment like cardio machines (doing the same form of exercise will get boring and cause your muscles to adapt to that one form of exercise and eventually you will see less and less progress), freevweights, strength, and core equipment.

10028419 tn?1416845304 I walk occasionally now but would like to start exercising again to help with weight gain and labor! Any one else exercise? I need tips on whats safe and what I should be doing!
Avatar f tn I do have many outdoor activities but I am looking for a workout I would be able to do at the gym every day that would be the most helpful and effective for the kind of weight I am trying to lose.. I will definitely keep you updated with my progress, and thank you again for the help!
Avatar n tn As with any new routine, be sure to ask your instructor how to adapt the movements to your condition. One key way that exercise helps reduce joint pain is by building muscle, which in turn helps take strain and pressure off the joints. Isometric exercises accomplish this by increasing muscle without moving the joint itself: Creating pressure by pushing your palms against each other is one example of an isometric exercise.
571042 tn?1271450741 Not that I think I need to exercise, I still am 2lbs under my pre-pregnancy weight, but I think if I try to get into some type of routine, it will be easier for me to lose the weight after the baby comes.
1159737 tn?1286520857 I have been trying to figure out how to exercise as well bcuz I want and need to lose weight.....still looking for something bcuz it is much too cold outside for the pool.
483733 tn?1326802046 Hi, I noticed that my usual exercise routine had to be toned down when I had the cyst. I normally ran a bit and walked fast on my treadmill. Towards the end, about a month before my surgery, I couldn't do much b/c it hurt. I'd say just do what you can and REALLY listen to your body. If it hurts, stop or slow down. Not sure what exercise you do but you'll know when it's too much.
Avatar f tn Med Help has an excellent food diary and when you initially set it up, using your personal info, it will tell you how many calories you need daily to MAINTAIN your current weight - it will be your job, then to eat LESS calories or exercise MORE in order to create a deficit in calories. You should try to center your eating around lean protein, fresh/frozen fruits and veggies, low/no fat dairy, etc. And I'd also recommend a good multi vitamin daily to make sure you get the proper nutrients.
1237562 tn?1360993180 Since cycling is a low impact exercise, it was easy for me to continue. I wouldn't suggest to suddenly start you because of trt since this new routine may not work for you. Don't be too surprised that as the weeks progress you may struggle to get motivated and feel enough energy to get out there. Some days you'll feel fine, others not so good. Take each day as it comes and don't beat yourself up if you need extra rest. Taking care of yourself is most important.
1293682 tn?1311959671 do they just want to wait until your 60 lbs over weight and then pretty much tell you your a fat lazy pig and you need to exercise... My doc didn't refer me to an Endocrinologist? why? I feel like I need a new primary physician!
Avatar f tn reports that diet cycling, along with an exercise program, may be an effective way to lose weight. Always check with your physician before starting any new diet or weight-loss plan. http://www.livestrong.com/article/237566-free-weight-loss-tracking-tools/ The Peak 8 routine it will quickly raise your heart rate 8 times for very short bursts, with a cooling down period in between.
Avatar n tn But again, if you stick to a good nutritional plan and an exercise program, you should be able to safely lose a pound per week, barring any other factors such as hypothyroidism. In 6 months you could be 26 lb lighter! Avoid simple carbs and sugars -including artificial ones- like the plague. Opt for lots of fresh salads, greens and vegetables. Do not even think about fast food, prepared foods, baked goods, convenience and junk foods etc. You know what I mean.
Avatar f tn There is no one way to lose weight that suits all, and no one way to exercise. You don't state just how old you are or what you do in that 30 minute workout or what your fitness level is, nor if you're currently gaining weight or just staying at a place you don't like. The key to eating is to find a balance that you metabolize well -- different people do better on different foods.
Avatar f tn I decided that a four month break from my exercise routine would not have long term effects, and chose to enjoy every moment possible of my limited time abroad rather than spending time working out. I'm realizing now that this has been amazing-- I have miles more energy every day, I can function better on less sleep than I was getting before, and I'm not starving all the time like I once was (being hungry all the time was just a fact of my life, I was in fact eating a healthy amount).
Avatar n tn To lose weight free, do the following breathing twice a day.. Drink a glass of water before doing the breathing. Kapalbhati -(Do it before eating) Push air forcefully out through the nose about once per second. Stomach will itself go in(contract in). The breathing in will happen automatically. Establish a rhythm and do for maximum of 30 minutes. Not for pregnant women. Start with 5 minutes twice a day and increase the time everyday upto 30 mins. If tired, rest and then resume.
Avatar n tn It's a tape specifically for new moms, but generally for anyone who has sort of fallen off the excercise bandwagon, so it was great for me, and i really reccomend it for anyone else trying to ease back in to fitness. It had the weight traning my routine was lacking, as well as aerobic. So far, I've lost four pounds, and most importantly, I've lost them in a way that didn't feel too fast (like with pre-diagnosis ketoacidosis) or too hard.
Avatar f tn A healthy diet and exercise routine will help you lose weight... once you get into the habit of eating healthy food at reasonable portions and the weight starts coming off, that's often enough motivation to keep on going. Most dietary supplements are not meant to be taken long term and weight lost while taking them usually come back as soon as they are stopped.
Avatar f tn Physically, you need to double-check your food intake to make sure you’re not exceeding the calories needed to lose weight. To be sure you are physically on track, you may find it useful to journal your food intake. You can do this in your journal right here on MedHelp. Write down EVERYTHING you eat and the associated calories. CalorieKing is a site I have found quite useful; there are others.
Avatar f tn I have reduced my carbohydrates and sugars. I can not lose weight. I weigh 188 lbs and am a 44 year old female. Any suggestions?
Avatar n tn If you're only working your upper and lower abs and not your obliques (the sides of your ab areas), you're going to struggle to lose that lower abdomen fat tissue. It'll take at least six to eight weeks before you start noticing the difference, but take it from someone who had a lot of sagging fat layered over muscle; kickboxing does work those oblique muscles to help you lose that bottom layer of fat!
Avatar n tn sorry so long, I do have my own site to see for yourself and read as much as you can and do your research which is why I am now a nutritionist and natural hormone clinician...that is why women struggle to lose weight more than men....blessings to you my new friend.Connie Allen, CNC messengerofhealth.
Avatar m tn First of all, if you've been doing the same amount of work at the gym for a long time, it's no longer helping you to lose weight but is helping you to maintain your weight where it is. At your age, though, it's going to be hard to increase what you're doing -- you're working out pretty hard for your age and your level of natural fitness might not allow you to do more without getting injured.
