Common Questions and Answers about Exercise physiology lab equipment

Avatar f tn Only technicians, physiologists, nurses, and physicians familiar with normal and abnormal responses during exercise can recognize or prevent adverse events. Equipment, medications, and personnel trained to provide advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) must be readily available. I am referring to high end state-of-the art EKG recorders. There are many good recorders designed to capture high-quality ECG data during exercise.
Avatar n tn Many questions need to be answered. What is the physiology of the metabolism change? How PERMANENT is the metabolism change and the weight loss. What do you do AFTER you lose the weight? If you have had poor habits before the diet and revert back then what is the use? How do you maintain the weight loss? Will a basic improved change in eating habits ( no sodas, eat a high protein breakfast, eat mostly organic, etc) keep the weight off after the hCG diet?
Avatar n tn - Pelvic Exercises (both men and women) also known as Kegels - Not be overweight (converts testosterone into estrogen = not good) - Exercise the pump, get your heart pumping. And then the usual: eat healthy, don't smoke, eat dark fruits (eg. blackberry), eat dark chocolate etc.
Avatar f tn I have noticed when I do exercise, it will go away temporally and this is good. May be it is a lack of exercise as I am almost sitting to my computer all day long ... Meds, I take valium 5mg once or twice a day, depending how I feel. Beside that, I take Tylenol with codeine each day for my headache. Which someone can find an answer for all of us. I will keep trying to find an answer to this and I WILL. When I do, will let you know. Good luck to all.
Avatar n tn Not to mention that I think it is a little ridiculous for a healthy 21 year old to have to take it to have a functional penis. I am physically fit and exercise daily (have to in order to keep from getting anymore depressed about it). I have no idea what has caused this problem, but it needs to be fixed. I don't believe in suicide, but I doubt I can handle life much longer if this doesn't get fixed. I just can't enjoy things anymore.
Avatar n tn I was OK though when the time actually came and they wheeled me into the cath lab. My ablation was done under a general anesthetic, so I just went to sleep, woke up and it was done. The biggest inconvenience was having a catheter for the day I was in the hospital being monitored and waiting for entry sites to heal. I felt fine, very minimal discomfort, and was released the next day. For about six weeks, I had some sensation in my chest--likely from the healing that was taking place.
Avatar m tn You could also accidentally rub infected snot into your eye and get an eye infection, if you are careless. The physiology of your head may be different from my head and you could experience a problem that I would not have, so it’s another risk you must assume. This technique will work for almost any infection of the nose, if you‘re willing to take the risk. If an unfortunate side effect should happen to you, well, I am sorry.
Avatar n tn To answer the specific question, "How do I know when skipped heart beats are dangerous?" You don't. Only a doctor can determine that with equipment like an EKG. The big clue that something is wrong is if you begin passing out, which from what you say is highly unlikely since your heart tests are normal. If you're just having ectopic beats, this probably isn't even worth you thinking about it.
Avatar n tn But no for medical you can go to a sleep lab and get test to see if while you are sleeping in you have sleep apena or any sleep distrubance.
Avatar f tn Since then the tingling has combined with the aching in the lower extremities and progressed upward to include the thighs. Exercise makes all of the symptoms worse, as I experience severe aching and muscle twitching after any kind of physical activity. A MRI of the brain and neck revealed increased areas of signal in the brain not consistent with ms.
Avatar n tn The docs said it will take time to get my system back in-balance and I have anxiety medicine (Serax/Oxazepam) for sleeping, breathing exercises to do, and instructions for mild exercise like walking or gentle yoga. I actually had 9 hours sleep last night for the first time in 6 weeks and I feel so much better! I'm still going to the naturopathic doctor weekly for B12 and other vitamin infusions to help equalize my system too.
Avatar n tn I am thinking I may have to change careers though as I can not work shift work or run heavy equipment anymore.Night shifts are out of the question ,it is hard enough working half days right now.Take Care and I will keep fighting .
1647691 tn?1363727302 You know ladies when I went in on Saturday for my bloodwork and US and it showed that I had produced follicles that were size 21, 21, 17, 14, 9, 6, and 7 I was very pleased. The ladies in the lab looked at my results and told me that my doctor would probably want me back the next day. Well, Saturday evening the Doctor's office phoned to say that they were sorry, I only had 2 good follicles and the doctor wanted me to go to do an IUI.
