317787 tn?1473362051 Liver Disease Located in the upper right abdomen, the liver is our body’s largest internal organ. The liver is responsible for an estimated 500 jobs in human physiology; its ability to function is a requirement for life. Besides being our body’s detoxification center, the liver is also involved in fat digestion, hormone production and making and storing glucose.
Avatar n tn My neurotransmitters test shows norepinephrine and epinephrine are very elevated, while serotonin and GABA are very low, and my hormones are tanked, so I'm constantly frazzled. I'm only 38, and this has been going on for a few years now. I can't exercise because I end up sick if I do, and I used to run 5 miles a day. I constantly crave sweet and salty foods, but when I eat sugar I feel horrible. The brain fog and memory issues are so bad I lost my job recently. Something needs to change!
151951 tn?1267991945 As a teacher, I doubt that I could get through the day at school on that few calories, not to mention my work at home, or any hobbies or exercise!! I do take sublingual B12, and I do not drink caffiene. "They" obviously know that anybody who eats fewer than 1000 calories a day will lose weight. I'll bet "they" wouldn't be willing to do that. I have tried Jenny Craig, Weight Watchers, and one other diet plan. Each time I lost about 15 pounds, and that was it.
Avatar f tn i was advised by my PCP to start a statin as i have risk factors. i have put it off instead trying diet, exercise, etc first. i just do not want to have to take them the rest of my life as i heard once you start them your liver becomes dependent on them. i will have to see what happens in the next six months.
Avatar n tn Body protein can be converted to glucose to some extent, but protein has jobs of its own that no other nutrient can do. Body fat cannot be converted to glucose to any significant extent, and although fat breakdown can yield energy for many of the body's cells, only glucose can provide energy for brain cells, other nerve cells, and developing red blood cells.
Avatar m tn 7, the two episodes of pre-marital sex in 1967 and again in 1974/5 to my present need to exercise self-control even in the evening of my life at the age of 66. 2.7.7.5.1 There are different aspects of impulsive behavior and various mechanisms involved in individual predisposition to impulsivity and its related psychopathologies and they are only partly understood by the medical profession and psychiatry in particular.
Avatar n tn I did notice that my pants fit better and that I'm looking leaner but I still want to get back to 145 not bulk up with muscle! How do I get back to losing weight WHILE getting in more exercise? I know I need to move more - that's why I got the bike - but I'm getting SOOOO frustrated now that the scale is going in the wrong direction.
Avatar n tn It did seem to stop the PACs though, but I really didn't feel like exercise. I went back to my doctors and they gave me another prescription for propranolol 10mg, 3 times a day. I've been on that for about 6 months now and feel great. The PACs are few and far between, my heart rate is at about 70 bpm, and I feel about as energetic as ever.
1539238 tn?1292865243 Do doctors really think they are the only supreme beings on the planet that can understand physiology, pathology, and anatomy? TALK TO ME like an intelligent human being that I am and stop doing the , everything is fine BS, nothing to worry about BS, your condition is "mild bs, and here take another pill BS. And I dont know, I didnt order that test, and I dont know you would have to ask radiology, or your primary care, or the general surgeon, or now....ONCOLOGY.
Avatar n tn Before donating I would get two or three a year. After learning in physiology a couple weeks ago that plasma makes antibodies, I became convinced this is the reason why I'm getting sick. I always got sick shortly after giving twice a week, too. No more donating for me. It's not worth getting paid to get sick!
748543 tn?1463449675 Ever wonder why your chiropractic adjustments don't hold for long? Of course we can exercise and be mindful of our posture. However long-term we see that this conflict will have its say. In my experience, examining both symptomatic and asymptomatic patients of my practice, I have found most often that even in asymptomatic patients the area of conflict lies within the spine; namely the cervical area. So the price for accommodation to the poor bite is most often paid for by our neck.
Avatar n tn 1 T4:T3 ration and normal human thyroid produces about a 6:1 ratio -- this is debated however) -- so you end up with proportionately more t3 than t4 compared to what a "normal" thyroid would do. The additional T3 is great for many patients - but perhaps not for you given your symptoms. That's a pretty slow Klonopin taper - must be a severe situation. I may be tempted to go back to what worked for years for you -- Levoxyl.
Avatar m tn I started organic farming in 1989, the word green was a color. I have fair knowledge of herbs, nutrition, and physiology. I get lots of sun and exercise in fresh mountain air. I drink spring water from my tap, the city doesn't treat it with anything. There really isn't anything more I can do, other than lower my stress load, but I woke up in the bed I made for myself on opiates. When I have a general routine and a safe place to retreat, a house, I can handle my episodes pretty well.
Avatar n tn Anyways, I too have spent countless hours (well they are countable but i havnet counted) trying to figure this out, and have since become much less ignorant of the underlying penile and surrounding physiology (havent gotten any degree for that yet!) than I was before; especially since this is majorly affecting me physically and mentally, very depressing to say the least, has put a serious strain on me and my wife's otherwise very strained marriage already.
199882 tn?1310188142 Eventually the massive column reaches and stretches the rectum and just above it. At this point, you need to understand a little of the physiology of the area. When a person with normal stools has a mass of stool in the rectum, the muscle stretches and signals the urge to go to the bathroom. If the signal is obeyed, then the cycle repeats. If the signal is not acted on the urge quiets, and reappears later, sometimes hours or days.
Avatar m tn I don't - I balance the pharmacology approach with exercise, proper nutrition, and lifestyle choices. Also, what makes you think that everyone else here is sitting around, NOT working, and just "popping pills"?
Avatar f tn Thanks for your thoughts - I don't think you understood my posting - I don't need some telling me that I am lazy and that I need to get off my butt and exercise. At the age of 37 I started a diet and exercise routine and lost 110 pounds. I have done marathons and was in training for a 100 mile bike ride/race - so lazy I am not! I didn't start having this issue of tiredness until about a year ago and than it was down hill - I have lost everything because I am to tired to do anything!
Avatar f tn I am not saying ultram is the wonder drug for me i still deal with alot of pain but i have no other choice but to work and yes driving makes it worse...i know switch jobs...have you seen the recent job market? my doctors have all suggested a carreer change....ummmm no. I was told by my doctor that ultram is non habit forming and is so far legal as far as my DOT drugscreens go. I have passed drug tests while on ultram.
Avatar n tn I can still exercise ok but when i do those certain movements it kind of feels like a scrape and a breath at the same time, it's really weird. I have had a bad chest virus that I'm just recovering from and this thing coincided with the virus so don't know if that's related. Has anyone had any luck finding out what it could be yet? I'd really appreciate any feedback as like a lot of you guys, it's freaking me out.
Avatar n tn I feel that it has to be more than that as it gets worse with exercise. I do not have anything wrong with my lungs...I've had several tests. I am scheduled for an echocardiagram (picture of the heart), so we'll see. I am not one who likes to complain or go to the doctor, but I have decided that I must pursue this to get to the bottom of it. I should mention that I do have bouts with anxiety and depression, but I have been on meds for years and I still have this problem.
Avatar n tn I can move mountains, walk fast, exercise, mow the lawn, and when the kids were young go up so many stairs at the water parks it wasn’t funny and nothing, never got AF when doing those physical things and NEVER got chest pains or fainted. That even goes for the times I was in AF, never chest pains or fainted. Yet on a cruise I got it on the ship. SOOOO much food, gut not used to it? I ask what do you think? I can go months without it or get it 3 times in one week.
Avatar n tn Many questions need to be answered. What is the physiology of the metabolism change? How PERMANENT is the metabolism change and the weight loss. What do you do AFTER you lose the weight? If you have had poor habits before the diet and revert back then what is the use? How do you maintain the weight loss? Will a basic improved change in eating habits ( no sodas, eat a high protein breakfast, eat mostly organic, etc) keep the weight off after the hCG diet?
Avatar n tn And one more thing don't let anybody tell you that they are dangerous during exercise/walking/jogging. If you have otherwise a healthy heart the Cardiologist told me "PVC's during exercise will NOT kill you". Lots of times I have them when I walk real fast for exercise, and lots of times I don't have them. I used to turn around an hurry back to my car. NO MORE! I will not let these PVC's ruining my life. Good luck to you!
Avatar f tn I would suggest do a test on liver or pancreatic check then doctor will be able to tell you if your body uses the food you consume with 100% outcome and don't forget to exercise.
Avatar m tn I have had eppiditimitis for 45 day now. It started in my right testicle, I was on cipro for 10 days 500mg 2 daily. It then came back to my left testicle 4 days after I was done the meds. I was then put on cipro for 14 days same dose and it did nothing. I was then put on 1000 mg 2 daily of cipro, made it to day 6, my face, scalp and palms of hands broke out with painful lumps that ruptured. I've seen 4 different doctors been to emergency once and have had a ultrasound done.
