1359524 tn?1282695510 High =] I'm not sure how it will be in the long run and I haven't tried pushing myself to exercise yet. The most I do is walk up 4 flights of stairs in the parking garage at the end of the day IF I feel I can handle it that day. Usually by the time I get to the top my heart is racing and I feel like hell, but I want to prove to myself that I can do it. I'm very stubborn. At night once the Ritalin wears off, I crash.
Avatar n tn While it is true that there are several jobs a diabetic will be blocked from pursuing, there are thousands of exciting, interesting and productive jobs that we can pursue. Since diabetes is a life-long disease, I find it helpful to focus on the things I can do -- and build my confidence, competence and joy -- rather than to dwell on the things that could've been had I not had this disease.
Avatar f tn Personally I want to be a Biblical translator and missionary. Really, there isn't one set of jobs that are better for bipolar people, it depends on the individual and their symptoms. And ILADVOCATE is right, job agencies will know more about what jobs are out there than any of us.
Avatar n tn Assuming a PV focus-generated PAC/PVC condition in an otherwise normal, healthy, althletic heart, what exactly is happening to the PV foci during exercise that begets the following typical symptomology? resting: PACs at about 1-4/min pulse 40-50 bpm exercise: some PACs (0-1/min) pulse 120-150 bpm After exercising about one hour, almost no PACs for 4-8 hours afterwards, pulse normal within an hour. After 8+ hours PACs return at normal resting rate.
Avatar n tn I have scheduled an exercise stress test for next week and just want to know what happens during the test. If my heart starts to beat crazy do they stop the test? How fast do you walk on the treadmill?
Avatar f tn I just got my certificate for the phlebotomy and EKG techinician classes. I should be happy. No one gives a crap that I work two jobs and just graduated from two college classes. No one appreciates what I'm doing and how hard I work. I'm having panic attacks one on top of the other. I need advice.
Avatar m tn Can someone please tell me why with old mild exercise I am experiencing tachycardia? I just bought a heart monitor. I have had an EKG, Echo and Echo Stress Test and still no determination has been made why my heart is doing this. I do not get tired, no pain or short or breath? I feel frightened with this unusual thing happening. When I had the 24 hour halter last week (did not go to gym) there was no abnormalities. I would be so grateful if someone could tell me what is wrong with me.
1301089 tn?1290670171 L.A.: $111M in Stimulus Saved Just 55 Jobs By William Lajeunesse Published September 17, 2010 | FoxNews.com advertisement More than a year after Congress approved $800 billion in stimulus funds, the Los Angeles City Controller has released a 40-page report on how the city spent its share, and the results are not living up to expectations. "I'm disappointed that we've only created or retained 55 jobs after receiving $111 million," said Wendy Greuel, the city's controller.
Avatar f tn Instead, supplementing with glutathione precursors like N-Acetyl L-Cysteine (NAC) can be used by the body to increase production of glutathione. Another way to boost glutathione levels is to get plenty of exercise. This is because exercise exponentially increases the amount of adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) in the body's cells. Known by scholars as the chemical basis for energy and chemical reactions in the body, ATP is needed to produce glutathione.
159619 tn?1538184537 I have always worked out between 30 - 60 mins per day at 80% of max. I've been between jobs and had some extra time in my hands and over the [last 6 weeks have stepped up my work outs to 45 -60 mins at 90% of max + and pushing 10 mets per day, up from 7 before. During this period, I have seen my resting heart rate drop from an average of 72 to my current level of 62. Does this sound reasonable? I have normal heart rate response to exercise as well as a normal recovery rate.
Avatar m tn hey can somebody suggest what is the best exercise for hepatitis person?
Avatar m tn With a normal cardiology work up (normal EKG and echo) there really isn't any more testing necessary to do. Maybe I would have asked for a 24h Holter, and if you get palpitations during exercise, possibly a stress test, but as long as your EKG and echo is normal, the palpitations are likely benign and further testing is mostly for reassurance. A heart rate in the 50s is nothing to worry about unless you have symptoms of low blood pressure.
Avatar n tn pulling electric line, digging holes, climbing poles, etc. Question: Do blue collar workers get to count these activities? Of course, it's better than sitting at a desk, but not the same as activities that promote heart health, weight loss, range of motion, core strength, etc. How do we design programs to be motivational and fair for all? Thanks.
Avatar n tn You can do it as long as you make simple adjustments. I have had jobs where I walk for 8 hours a day and desk jobs where I sit all day. And there are days that I do lots of exercise and days of none. Adjust to the situation and move on doing what you want to do. Hope this helps you out.
483733 tn?1326802046 Do I know what THIS feels like! I am a very physical person and am also forced to do physical jobs (hauling logs, and dog walks etc) and the menopause hot flashes were fun I don't think! I would just basically strip off to shorts and vest. People used to think I was Spartan or something, they said the weather wasn't that hot....but I was! (A warning...always take a top or sweater with you. Tie it round your hips or something, because once the hot flash passes you can feel quite cool again.
Avatar n tn I am 21 years old, i work two jobs where i am standing fast food and advertising and i also exercise. i am not overweight but i am tryin to get toned up sooo i figure running will trim me down and i do workout videos .anywayz i have a pain in my lower legs like in the fron bone from under my knee to my legs and its throbbing it hurts sooo bad. it started like a year ago when i was in my bodyshaping class so i got gel ins for more support for my legs .
1161780 tn?1266715444Exercise? Yeah, I know I should, but where do I begin?” This question takes on a whole new meaning when asked by someone with a heart condition. Instead of deciding which gym to join or which video to purchase, those of us in this distinguished group have bigger things to consider. For instance, if my heart rate goes above a certain number, am I gonna die?!!? It’s these types of questions that make your exercise choices very personal and specific.
221122 tn?1323014865 I know there are a few studies out there, one looked at the rate one minute after peak exercise, one looked at 1 and two minutes after 6 minutes of non-peak exercise, and there were a couple others, too. And what they deemed a "good" recovery rate was all over the map - CCF says anything better than 12bpm drop in first minute and you're good. Another said it needed to be in the 20's to 50's to be good. I think it's safe to say that there isn't a clear-cut answer.
Avatar n tn One way to help alleviate your fear of exercising might be to undergo an exercise test, such as an exercise echo. If you had your symptoms during the test, and the test was otherwise normal, then you could be reassured that your shortness of breath was from deconditioning. Let me caution you, though, that some people will never be relieved no matter what the test. Ask yourself what will satisfy you before you go down the path of testing.
952880 tn?1262736006 My mom encourange me to get back at it so here I am....working 2 jobs and lots of hours and will do my best to eat right and exercise.
3113201 tn?1341784538 My target weight is 195 or 200, and I hope to reach this goal by the end of December, so in about 2 or 3 months. In regards to exercise, I lift weights 5 days a week. I have two jobs, one of which is physical demanding most of the time. If I get a chance, I go shoot a basketball around for an hour or two once a week. I don't do much cardio because I cannot breathe well due to a spinal deformity that alters the position and articulation of my rib cage.
Avatar f tn I work 7 days a week and I basically have no time to workout or anything. My jobs consider of some walking and that's about it as far as exercise. Most of the time I'm more mentally tired than anything. What can I do to get more exercise? Preferably at home!

605458 tn?1539232408 got some exercise, going to start volunteering at shelter monday, the lady that interviewed me used to counsel people with addictions and has a mental healthy background in her previous jobs, so that was nice, didn't have to explain anything really; think its PMS time
605458 tn?1539232408 watching Gretchie - dog that just had surgery, the heat, storms, have kept me from getting out and getting any real exercise or just out of my aparment and I'm getting a little depressed and frustrated
Avatar f tn Have not implemented exercise, but as a busy mom with 4 kids, 2 jobs and full-time school -- I'm just too lazy to add one more thing to my plate. I started at 173, my goal is 127. After these next 18 days I will do another 90 Day Challenge, but will incorporate exercise and I can't wait. I have before/during pictures on facebook. I highly recommend ViSalus -- if you want more information let me know!
