Avatar n tn Since Jan 99 I have been working out at least five days a week, with a combination of strength training via nautilus equipment and aerobic machines 3 days a week, and one hour of swimming at least two days a week. The other two days I usually walk, but since I walk with an older friend we don't go fast enough for me to count it. I use the YMCA and had a fitness evaluation at the beginning in January, I scored poorly being out of shape in many areas, and my resting heart rate was in the 90s.

On the nautilus equipment that I would do at the gym, I'd cut back from 3 sets of 12 reps to like 2 sets of 8 reps and drop some of the amount of weight, too. That's my tenative plan for whenever that next tx happens. If I'm doing great and can handle more, than I will, but if I'm very anemic it may be all I can handle. It's a wait & see...
Avatar f tn Anyhow, my whole point is, is that I'm not really doing any natural herbs, no big time supplements, none of that stuff really and everything is remaining under control for the time being. I do the nautilus weight lifting equipment, spin classes, elliptical/cross trainer machine, stationary bike and treadmill. I recently attempted a zumba class and since I'm too much of a klutz to do the dance thing, that didn't work out too well for me.
Avatar f tn Really feel great with the diet. But I started moderate exercise as soon as I was released from the Hospital. I walk on a treadmill for 30 minutes at 3.5mph then I do various lite weight lifting (Nautilus rocker equipment) I have lost 10 lbs since my Hospital visit. But i have also had three episodes of AFIB while the Diltiazem was being increased. EchoCardiogram and Chemical Stress test shows zero blockages or other heart problems.

Avatar f tn I am OT and work with kids and some very heavy adults/stroke patients, and equipment, etc. and do not want to injure my eye. Plus, I want to return to some of my regular exercise routine of volleyball, yoga, light nautilus weights, the cross-trainer machine without also injuring my eye. Is cold weather bad for the recovering eye even if I am wearing protective eyewear?
Avatar n tn I've ALWAYS exercised my lymphedema arm followed by manual lymph drainage (MLD)massage. I do nautilus equipment at the gym to help with both keeping the range-of-motion and stretching, plus light/moderate weight bearing exercises. I also wear a sleeve while exercising which was the only thing not mentioned in the article on lymphedema and exercises (I think it was on either CNN or FoxNews website, but an article concerning this can be found at the cancer . org website, too).

As far as your medications you definitely should follow the advise of your physician. And no, you aren't too young to have osteoporosis. My sister-law-in has it and she is underweight and doesn't do much sport or activity. Weight lifting and nothing else isn't going to do much. You're vegan too, which means your calcium intake isn't the best.
1838299 tn?1403496143 8 MPH for like 20-30 min, ride the stationary bike 20-30 min. and lift the nautilus equipment weights at the gym. I was doing this type of workout prior to treatment and I felt like I needed to just push through and keep doing it. I can't afford to let my heart go, my bones get any thinner than they already are, my blood sugar to get unstable, I need to keep all these things in check, while I'm working at fighting the Hep C.
Avatar n tn Regardless of whether you perform exercise indoors or out, you should drink sufficient water when you exercise. The recommendation is 10 glasses a day for adults and taking drinks every 15-20 minutes during workouts. Sports drinks and juices can replace lost nutrients during exercise. Some sports supplements are known to cause headaches. If you currently use supplements, try cycling out one thing at a time to see if something you are taking is causing the headaches.
Avatar f tn I began this journey by injuring my neck at the gym on a piece of nautilus equipment. That was the first time I woke up unable to turn my head from side to side without pain. That began my trips to the chiropractor. For many years I visited them for adjustments but only when the flareups were intolerable. Once I went to Maui and the first thing I did when I got there was find a chiropractor to get an adjustment. My neck killed me the whole trip....sad, but true.
Avatar n tn If it hurts and the pain does not ease up once you stop the exercise you are not supposed to continue. Ice is a big help with pain after exercise. Anone who makes you cry is being sadistical and you need a new doctor. Good luck.
