In my case, anxiety was the cause and a visit to a urologist made all the difference: I take Cialis + Vigamed (oral phentolamine) on demand and my sex life has been great for the last 3 or 4 years.
Avatar m tn He said 2-3 years ago he would probably have referred me for by-pass but now the equipment is available to do this and his experience with this kind of repair being extensive make this doable. His reputation around the cardiac community, nursing staff and other patients is top notch. My impressions of his skill and knowledge have been consistently very positive. I understand that there are risks but I am going to move ahead and have the cath procedure.

The other shoulder work I did was lying in bed and just holding my affected arm straight up with my good arm. I would let go with the good armand see if I could keep it upright. When i could do that I start moving it around in tiny circles advancing to larger and lower circles. Eventually after about three months I could lift my arm flat off the bed from any direction to overhead.

Avatar n tn Some people become obsessed with their BP and take many readings per day. Some of the same people have very inaccurate equipment also. I don't know what type of BP monitoring device you have, and it really doesn't even matter in a way, because the best on the market can give false readings, especially when you keep repeating the test. Stay away from the wrist and finger BP measuring devices.

You can rent or purchase exercise DVDs at your local video store. You probably can get them on-line too. Don't go for something that is going to make you pass out, start slowly with a beginner level exercise programme. If they ask you to use dumbbells or weights in the DVD, then you can use two cans of soup as dumbbells.

Avatar f tn I waited for several hours in the pre-op area and then was taken to the cardiac cath lab and situated on a table where several different types of equipment were surrounding me, along with NO JOKE over 15 wires were attached to my chest and surrounding areas along with the patches they use in case they need to jump start your heart. I woke up during the last 10 minutes and felt only mild discomfort when they were mapping then i was ok with another dose of fentyl and versed.
Avatar f tn (it's good for every kid's nervous system, regardless of delay or not)---- start with getting him to parks and on play equipment as much as possible. Run, jump, climb, roll, slide, and swing (calming). Give him a piece of thick bubble gum before school (organizes and calms brain). He may not have any delay at all----- but if he does---- knowing and handling it in terms of early intervention can change his life. It did my sons. He is a much happier boy. Good luck!!

If the doc is concerned about you losing some weight to match the dose for 100 mcg (really 96) why then don't you set the dial to .5 to get the full 120 mcg dose that's in the barrell? But, I'm a believer that more Peg is better than less Peg.

Reduced Atenolol to 2/3 normal dose on the day of the stress test only, per doctor’s orders. Three days prior to ablation, I was instructed to stop taking Atenolol. Also had to stop eating chocolate until after the ablation. (I can live without Atenolol, but I can’t live without my chocolate.) No food or water was allowed after midnight before the day of ablation.
Avatar m tn People with acidic reflux usually grind their teeth at night. To check if you do get a sports mouth guard a cheap one. Follow instructions and wear it over night. In the morning check if there's any impression in the mouth guard. If you do grind your teeth your acid reflux can eventually can get worse because it stress on your facial, neck and shoulder muscle which can affect your eyes too. Stress is also a known factor so I suggest you take yoga or learn to meditate.

The recommendation is 10 glasses a day for adults and taking drinks every 15-20 minutes during workouts. Sports drinks and juices can replace lost nutrients during exercise. Some sports supplements are known to cause headaches. If you currently use supplements, try cycling out one thing at a time to see if something you are taking is causing the headaches.

So they just wave their magic wand, take your co-pay and send you on your way. In the future, and this goes for anyone with ear issues, see an ENT and only ENT with an AUDIOLOGIST on staff. Do not see an ENT with an assistant doing hearing evaluations they will not know what they are doing.
Avatar m tn If your levels are low when you exercise, have the doctors monitor your oxygen levels while on a treadmill for a minimum of 6 minutes. Again, if the levels remain low, they may prescribe the O2. I am very happy to see that you have quit and are taking such an initiative in regaining your health and fitness..I know how hard that is to do. Over time, hopefully after you have dropped some more weight, your sleep apnea will get better.

It would be kind of stupid for a doctor to say anything that might EVER happen because honestly we'd never take anything ever again. I don't think you were used as a guinea pig...they pretty much do know all of the sides that might happen with these regular meds - and if you sign up for a TRIAL (ie: Vertex) you realize that is WHY you are in the trial.
Avatar f tn I had a treadmill test and there were no exaggerated heart rate increases, just the steady rise due to exercise. All tests came back normal - bloods, 24h urine x 5. I then had an MRI scan which found a 1cm growth on my adrenal gland. They thought they had found it.....but urine hormone tests said otherwise, they were normal range levels. The only other condition they now feel I may have is Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome..

I had a rod like pain about the size of a 4" pencil to the left of my sternum - my cardiologist said it was nothing extraordinary. Had a lot of travel and work stress in Sep/Oct and I started getting intermittent pain traveling up the neck to the left side of my jaw. The pain also radiated to my left arm pit.
