Avatar f tn You can do Pilates. It gives you a good enough workout & you feel relax as well.
Avatar f tn m now hoping everything is ok but I want to do some exercise to try and tone up a little I know you can use a stationary bike but has any one used a cross trainer at a steady pace?
Avatar f tn I am almost 38 weeks and have worked out consistently the entire pregnancy. I did barre classes, which i loved until recently. They have great pregnancy modifications and are a great workout. On days i didn't do that and now, I do light weights, cardio, core, etc. On days i don't feel like working out, i will at least wander around a store for an hr or two. I think it has helped my pregnancy go by super easy and kept my energy up.
Avatar n tn s pretty hard to produce progesterone to maintain a workout like Like that when the workout itself was upping my cortisol levels to high and subsequently I lost that pregnancy. This time, I'm not doing even a bit of exercise which is super hard for me until 12 weeks - then I'm switching to Pilates and yoga and walking - the hard core exercise can wait till he/she is out then I'm straight back on the hard core exercise!!
Avatar n tn Do you have a bike? If you do then you can convert your own outdoor bike into an indoor exercise machine easily and inexpensively with an indoor trainer or roller. Which one is best for you depends on your preferences, goals and fitness experience. To convert your bike to an indoor machine using a trainer, you affix your back wheel into an elevated mount and your front wheel rests on a plastic block.
1018329 tn?1448980165 Whats a good amount of exercise to get while pregnant? I am trying to work out at least 5 days a week for 30 minutes, I figure it's about as good as it's going to get until I am less tired or well into my second trimester. Just curious what everyone else does to get exercise and what you are doing to keep healthy through your pregnancy.
1237562 tn?1360989580 For the first few weeks I could still exercise. I tried to ride the recumbent bike and walked for a total of 20 to 30 min. per day. Once my severe fatigue set in around week 4, and my hemoglobin started dropping below 10, I rode the bike but kept my heart rate under 120 BPM as I didn't want to risk a heart attack. My heart was already pumping harder due to the lack of oxygen from low Hgb. and I'm a former smoker.
Avatar f tn That would usually mean how vigorous it is as far as cardio workout. Someone who is in shape can exercise vigorously, but somebody who has not been getting any real exercise will need to start out with an easier program. Somebody in between can work out at a moderate pace. Everybody should exercise a minimum of 3 days a week to make any gains at all, and it really takes at least four to see fast results.
395769 tn?1318449682 Sorry but I have that workout and it's WAY too intense for pregnancy. I was using the same workout and stopped. I would stick with less intense workouts, such as walking, swimming and stationary bike riding.
Avatar f tn I workout 6 sometimes 7 days a week because I am a group exercise instructor and personal trainer. I have modified everything to low impact for myself though.
1091003 tn?1257710173 Yesterday I finally said screw it, Im returning to exercise. I did a 10 minute ab/core workout and everything was fine. Then I rode my bike for an hour and a half. Everything was fine. I woke up this morning and felt find then decided I would do my core workout. About 10 minutes after my workout I started having skipped, irregular heartbeats. I think it was an anxiety attack but not sure. Everything I read says exercise should decrease stress.
Avatar f tn Why are you not allowed to bike ride while pregnant? What can u do other then walk...
Avatar f tn 76 yr old with bradycardia (below45 at times) will some exercise, ie stationary bike be useful? How much and how often? This discussion is related to Sinus Bradycardia and exercise.

Avatar m tn But I am finding for my length of time on the med. MY BP crashes after an intense exercise. MY Heart rate after exercise gets to 49 beats. I think this is unsafe. However, I have exercised my whole life on Inderal since 19 and never had a serious issue.

1431839 tn?1290812315 The only issue I have is in the past 6 months or so I have had a couple of incidents where suddenly during exercise, often early in exercise my HR spikes suddenly and unexpectedly (once is peaked at 195 which is well above my maxHR that I can get to even attacking the hardest of climbs or doing an all out power interval).
Avatar f tn I on purpose got a recumbant bike that does not have the handles in front for an upper body workout because for me that would do more harm then good. I do several smaller sessions during the day and it seems to work so far. I added in some of the leg strenthening exercises as well. Thanks again for letting us all know how it is going!
Avatar f tn I really recommend pregnancy yoga in your 2nd and 3rd trimester, before that aqua aerobics, swimming, normal yoga and Pilates, gym workout, light jog, stationary bike and cross trainer, anything really as long as you are feeling well and comfortable doing it.
1580828 tn?1322128022 I am having trouble with coming up with an alternative cardio workout. I have vertigo and I would normally jump on the recumbent bike. However, I am currently suffering from a bulging disk between L5 & L6. This of course has aggrevated the sciatic nerve which makes sitting nearly impossible. I have been trying to figure out a way to keep my cardio going while I work on re-strenghtening my core and heal. Because of the vertigo, walking is out of the question.
Avatar f tn I am started on a 1,000 calorie diet, but I am having a serious problem with exercise. How can I get the right kind of exercise to make a difference. I am also on iron therapy as my last test was at 2. I need some help.
Avatar f tn I am 7 months and I want to exercise besides walkingbecause I walk all the time so I'm looking for two. I don't want to hurt my baby so what can I do?
1413587 tn?1289659823 I do a lot of yoga for stretching to help pain. After exercise such as riding I am fatigued and I do hurt some. I find that the less I exercise the more I hurt all together. I tend to stiffen up. I certainly can't do what I used to. I also break my exercise into blocks with rest in between. I do a little gardening or yard work most days, swim or walk Polly my Service Dog. Once a week I do formal horse back riding lessons. I had to work myself up to all of it.
Avatar f tn To get a quality weight loss workout, ride your bike off road or on the road, or use a stationary bike at the gym. Stay away from steep hills to protect your knees; riding on flatter surfaces doesn't require as much intensity. Despite some people's belief that weight training is for building big muscles, it's also a beneficial weight loss exercise that someone with bad knees can use.
Avatar n tn I was doing about 60-70km a week, doctor said to keep it up as long as I could because it was quiet good for lower abdominal muscles plus a low impact workout and it really did help with keeping my weight down
