Reading other posts you guys suggest to keep track of the food intake. My question is where can I find a book or something that tells me how many calories do I need a day and hpw many calories i take in every time I eat something? Thank you for your replies.

Keep track of all that you drink that contain calories and replace each one every week with water until you are drinking nothing but water. This will reduce your caloric intake, flush your body of impurities and it will also keep your hydrated. Drink water with your meals to keep your stomach feeling full as well. Eat breakfast every day.

Avatar f tn That would usually mean how vigorous it is as far as cardio workout. Someone who is in shape can exercise vigorously, but somebody who has not been getting any real exercise will need to start out with an easier program. Somebody in between can work out at a moderate pace. Everybody should exercise a minimum of 3 days a week to make any gains at all, and it really takes at least four to see fast results.

Avatar m tn You need a strong level of base training, HR probably 120-135 for 1 -2 hours each day, eating right ( no empty calories or soda) and plenty of rest. I would avoid high intensity workout until you have reached better cardiovascular conditioning and evaluated the source of your headaches via the above mentioned MRI.
Avatar n tn i never had to work harder when i was exercising but i did get out of breath a lot easier...course, i could've been really out of shape too! i would just pace yourself slowly and see how it affects your body - a lot of people never notice a big difference though. i think it also depends on the amount of your doseage. i'm only on 25mg a day.

When i'm tracking how many calories i've burned in my cardio i never know if i should use my bike and treadmill numbers or if i should use a websites numbers... their drastically different sometimes my bike says i do 200 calories and a website says i do 800... is there a recommended link someone can post to me for an accurate calorie counter?

I use to be a runner but no longer can run like I use to so I was trying to work off some weight before I run again. Does anyone know the difference in calories burned between biking and running?
1396846 tn?1332463110 Any time you get your heart rate up you are going to burn extra calories. Other exercise routines that you might find beneficial are Yoga and Tai Chi. Both of these, if done properly, give your body at minimum a toning workout. You can also really work and lose weight with them...... I hope something in here sounds interesting to you - enough to get you to try it!
Avatar f tn The other option I believe would be Pilates, again personal attention and not such a big cardio workout. Don't try push yourself into jogging and aerobic exercise it will just make you feel worse. The one thing that I do try do is aqua aerobics. The water resistance is very good and you can stop when you feel tired. When I'm feeling better I'm going to start with that. IST is fun isn't it?
349463 tn?1333575176 I would just cut it down. I used to exercise ALOT with my Wii Fit but I've read that lots of working out can actually interfere with ovulation. So I didn't want to take the chance that I wouldn't ovulate just because of working out. So I work out very, very, very moderately before ovulation. Then don't do anything after ovulation, but this is because I recently had a miscarriage and don't want the exercising to cause a miscarriage again if I should get preg.
Avatar f tn Absolutely! Exercise makes a HUGE difference to my moods. If I don't exercise for 2 days, I'm totally grumpy. It's difficult to get started when I'm down. But I try not to think about how much I don't feel like it, how cold it is, or whatever other excuse - and rather 'think Nike' and JUST DO IT! I can even handle certain annoying people after exercise. And I think I blend in better socially after a good workout.

This means I have to stop what I am doing, bear down, then go splash cold water on my face before I can resume what I was doing. It always seems to happen when I'm really feeling my best, too. Talk about a buzzkill!

This year a group of friends have decided to run/hike the Grand Canyon Rim to Rim to Rim which equates to about 50 miles in less then two days. We are contemplating going non stop which would be about 20 hours. The trip is scheduled for October so at the beginning of May I began my rigorous training. Here is the problem!

The pain is squeezing, burning and lasts about 2-4 minutes. Don't always have to stop, just slow way down. All test normal, except holtor showed heart rate at 200 during workout, at which time I was experiencing pain. The stress test was stoped at 9 min. as I reached the max rate of 151.

572651 tn?1531002957 I just can't get into the stationary bike. It would be safer for me, but the workout just isn't enough. I also lift weights. I stay away from the leg lifts, and stick with the back, arms, shoulders, and waist. I also have an inner thigh-outer thigh routine. Presumably muscle burns calories while it's just sitting there, so I would have a higher metabolic rate if I build more muscle. I'm going to have to get back into it.
Avatar f tn I have to disagree with you - exercise DOES burn calories. Don't use exercise to burn the calories that you decided to eat - just don't eat the calories in the first place. Of course, I'm not advocating that you starve yourself! That would be silly. 1200 calories a day is the minimum amount of calories that any human being needs. Those calories should be real calories - fruits, vegetables, protein, whole grains. Cardio and weight lifting are also up to the individual patient.
Avatar f tn I would also recommend to begin by not exercising for a few days until your acne decreases/goes away, that way you can get a better idea of how much exercise you can tolerate without breaking out. 2) Make sure you are eating enough calories per day with an emphasis on protein and fat. A major lesson that I’ve learned in terms of reducing my breakouts while exercising is that it’s a lot better to eat too much than too little.

98010 tn?1305903335 Also, as your body gets used to certain types of exercises, it becomes more efficient, and the body burns less calories to do them - meaning the intensity of the exercise needs to increase in order to burn more. Look at the other factors in your life. What are you also doing differently since you started exercising? If you're eating more, then that is why you will be gaining. Also, be careful of exercises which are low calorie burners.

Now eat a protein snack, and get calories flowing threw the body. after this snack, you need to sit on the floor and do stretches. stretch every part of your body. when you remain idle for too long your blood becomes sticky and thick and makes your heart harder to pump more blood. by stretching your allowing more oxygen flow to go into those areas of the body that usually have minimal blood flow.
Avatar f tn I've done the eliptical a few times, but I find it hard to do it for longer than about 10 min. I've added in the arm exercise 'bike' now and the stretching machine. And I've been gradually increasing the weigh on the nautilus/free weight equipment. My question is, have you read anything that says if this is good or bad?

Ensuring that a workout is part of your daily routine will help to create balance. If you can fit in a longer session, consider it a bonus! Avatar m tn 5 mph on the treadmill, then getting on the exercise bike for naother 15 min at a high setting and keeping it going at about 23-30 mph, then i get back on the treadmill for another 15 min, then back on the exercise bike, and i throw in weight training inbetween on some days. it's been about 3 weeks and i haven't seen any changes. i've been watching what i eat as well, i've been getting around 1500-1600 calories a day of lowfat foods like rice, veggies, fruit, and lean chicken/fish.
