stress

Avatar f tn Ladies, I don't know what to do anymore. I have constant headaches, 24/7 for 3 weeks now. And I don't want to take pills all the time, cause first of all it doesn't really help, second of all I don't want too cause too much stress for my liver. But I tried to take 6 Tylenols and it doesn't help, my fried recommended to take cranberry crush, poor hot water, add sugar or honey ( it helped her), I tried, went through the bag if cranberries and no relief.
Avatar f tn I started having these headaches at the beginning of second semester freshman year, so about a year ago. I've told my grandparents but they just think it's just a normal headache thing that runs thought the family. It starts in the lower right side in my head and spreads and feels like my head will explode. One time it lasted a while week. They don't give me migraine symptoms it just hurts a lot.
Avatar m tn Hi Jenn, What you describe seems like a tension headache, which is similar to, but not exactly migraine. Medications for migraine relieve this headache. Stress and anxiety are causative factors. Your recent delivery, stress of taking care of the baby may have been the triggers for this. Please do not take any medication without consulting a doctor in case you are breast feeding your baby, though Excedrin Migraine is relatively safe, upto 4 times a day.

Avatar m tn Take a combination of Excedrin Migraine and Excedrin Tension Headache. 4. If you have a prescription Migraine Medication take that. 6. Lay in complete darkness after taking whatever medication. Now I can tell you this doesn't always work but 9 times out of 10 something above will help. Good luck and I hope you feel better.
3837157 tn?1348286069 The amount of caffeine in Excedrin is equal to one cup of coffee. Excedrin also makes a pain medication without caffeine which works very well. You'll be fine.
Avatar m tn i might add that as suggested above, you should talk with your doc. excedrin does increase headache frequency and rebound headaches...but still, you should always be talking with your doctor when you experience an increase in pain. with today's migraine treatments, it's only in rare cases that there aren't safe medicines that can help.
Avatar f tn But here are some other tips you can try along with the Excedrin. (Btw...Excedrin, Excedrin Migraine and Excedrin Headache ALL have the exact same ingredients and the exact same dosage of ingredients so, don't be fooled into think Migraine works better than Regular. I just get the cheapest.) 1. There are several symptoms of migraines and what causes the pain of a migraine is the blood vessels in your brain become dilated. So, sometimes it helps it you put a bit of pressure on your head.
411939 tn?1281598444 This and other analgesics are effective for occasional use, but taken frequently can cause rebound headaches. If you have a headache every day over many days, suspect rebound headache caused by medication, and get a doctor to prescribe a triptan drug.
Avatar f tn I have too! My midwife suggested this when I told her I am used to taking excedrin migraine pre pregnancy. She said to take the normal dose of tylenol(1000mg I think) with a small 6oz can of regular coke. We can't have the asprin the excedrin... but excedrin is made up of tylenol asprin and caffine. So take caffeine with your tylenol.
Avatar f tn If there was no history of head and neck trauma, this could indeed be caused by medication overuse, posture issues, emotional stress, and even hidden depression. MRI or MRA may also help rule out blood vessel problems. The headache journal will indeed be beneficial in identifying the triggers that you can avoid.A second opinion from another neurologist may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Hi - from November 2008 until Spring 2009 I had an odd, daily, off and on headache. I would get shooting pains and achiness in my forehead, behind my eyes, and on top of my head. I had congestion when putting my head down, but nothing severe. Also mild nausea. Sometimes they would be short in duration. Sometimes they would develop into a full blown headache. I had a great deal of tests: Sinus scan, CT scan of brain, neurological work-up, abdominal CT scan, blood work, etc.
Avatar f tn I have a headache since yesterday, I took Tylenol already and it doesn't go away, whay should I take thay can help me better
1769672 tn?1313901123 Thanks, i took some excedrin today when the headache first started up & it felt like it just got worse after it. Do you get all those things with it when you have migraines?
Avatar f tn Your story doesn't sound strange at all. If you don't have any other symptoms it really sounds like migraine. But I wouldn't call it a stress headache. Sure migraine can be triggered by stress but it can also be triggered by a number of other things and sometimes it just comes on anyway. So to call it a stress headache would be to oversimplify it a lot. It is a complex illness. Are you sure you don't have sinusitis?
Avatar f tn ve tried icy hot cream, thinking it was a tension headache, excedrin, laying doen in a quiet dark room, sleeping, otc sinus medication, breathing in steam, even my husband has tried to masage my neck head and face. Nothing is working. When I bend over or lower my head it feels as if all the blood is rushing to my face and head and I can hear my heartbeat thud loudly in my ears and I get a bit dizzy. What is going on here? And any suggestions on relief??????
Avatar n tn No, do not take Excedrin Tension Headache or Ibuprofen (Advil, Motion) when trying to conceive. Do not take it before, during or after ovulation. During your period may be permissable. Tylenol is OK to take.
Avatar f tn And then when they relieve a little bit by taking sinus meds and excedrin migraine its still a lingering headache no pain though but you know its there and its coming back.... it wakes me up in the middle of the night what am I going to do ?????
1214758 tn?1320478086 Headaches can be a side effect of pregnancy. It is due to the rapid rise in hormones that you are having right now. Talk with you doctor to see what he would recommend for the headache because you are limited to what you can take. Good luck.
Avatar m tn But the worst of all, I seem to rely on the Excedrin whenever I had the same kind of headache, which I do not really know a name for the kind of headache. So, I graduallly keep taking the medicine and the headache is never gone completely. I start worring about my headache, and so I ask helps from the doctors from my university. They suggested me to stop taking Excedrin and they think I was affected by the allergy too.
Avatar n tn Medication. It won't cure the migraines, but if you get on a regime of taking migraine medication daily, it will prevent future migraines. It actually seems to work fairly well. Ask your GP/Neurologist about taking Topamax or Propranolol. They'll start you at a low dosage, and then increase it every few weeks until it is at a level where you feel comfortable and nearly headache-free!
1385123 tn?1279511480 It started out just dull and annoying and has now progressed into quite an intense pain with nausea and a tingling sensation in my hands and arms within the last week. I constantly have a headache whether it is the dull pain, or so excruciating that I vomit from the pain. I have tried taking Tylenol, Ibuprofen, and even Excedrin Migraine, none of which even touched on the pain. The only time there is relief is when I am asleep, but once I wake up it comes right back.
Avatar n tn medications as simple as tylenol or advil if used too much can cause rebound headaches that are even worse then the headaches for which the medications were started for. This is very common and is most likely to occur with use of any medication for your headache more than a few times a week. The treatment is difficult, but basically involves weaning off the offending agent and replacing it with another that is later weaned off, combined with a more long-term solution.
Avatar f tn Hi, Treatment of post meningitis headache is the same as treatment of any other chronic daily headache. Medication rebound may be contributing to the aggravated headaches? If your headaches show no improvement, it would be better to consult a neurologist for a complete neurological examination, another lumbar puncture, if needed; to know whether CSF has returned to normal, and treatment. Excess of caffeine also leads to headaches. Please take your neurologist’s help for a specific treatment.
Avatar n tn m doing better now, the migraines stopped after a week, though I had a lingering headache for a couple more days. Excedrin migraine actually helped and took the edge off, so I was able to go back to work. I start taking Wellbutrin SR tomorrow, wish me luck!
Avatar n tn Im suffering right now from it, what can i take for a headache? Can i take excedrin tension. Thats the only pills helps my headache. Please Help!!!!
Avatar f tn Does migraine headache pain get worse when doing things like coughing, vomiting, and changing positions back and forth from laying, sitting, standing, etc.? Thanks!
Avatar m tn The tramadol will cause a headache or make the one you've got worse. Try excedrin - caffeine might make sleeping tough tonight, but it should help w/the headache. You'll just need to try and catch some extra zz's tomorrow.
