Is there any drug interaction between these two drugs ? I am taking Evista for Osteoporosis.
Could my recurrence of Ovarian cancer be attributed to my taking Evista for a year? I had ovarian cancer 15 years ago and after surgery and chemo, and a "second look" surgery with multiple biopsies was considered cured.I had a complete hysterectomy and the cancer seemed to be contained in my left ovary. Last winter I found a lump in my left groin which was biopsied and diagnosed as ovarian malignancy.

Hair loss in a known but not highly common side effect of Evista. If you do a search: "Evista and hair loss" you will find numerous references to this side effect.

Hi, I'm ok, but I think about this every day since I found out. It bothers me more than I thought it would. I have no known family history, but my mother died at 60 from complications from uterine cancer. I am post menopausal. When I was 49 my husband died and my periods just stopped suddenly and I had only hot flashes. But they were often and I would get drenched at work. So I took Prempro. I never stopped taking it because every time I tried the flashes came back.
Has anyone heard of taking Tamoxifen or Evista as a possible step in breast cancer prevention? My doctor has suggested it because I'm in a high risk category. I'm not sure what to do.
he said I am cancer free right now, but a high risk of getting breast cancer so he is recommending this medication Evista. He said Evista was better then the tomoxafin because it causes less blood clots. Is this true? I haven't started any meds yet, since IM going to get a second opinon first to see what is the best course of medication for me to take.Of course there are side effects now what medication doesn't have any side effects right.
He also said an oncologist would later discuss prophylactic treatment with tamoxifen or evista (I have osteopenia, and he said evista can be beneficial for that). I am very frightened and anxious. Seventeen years ago I had a benign lump removed in the other breast. Two years ago I had emergency surgery for a retinal detachment and have only just now come to terms with my altered vision the various complications from the detachment.
Radiation treatment to the chest may cause problems when swallowing, cough, or shortness of breath and breast soreness and/or swelling. I am not sure which medication your mother is taking, but Evista (raloxifene) can cause muscle cramps of the legs. Please have your mother make an appointment with her physician.
I have taken fosamax and actonel and have had stomach problems and aching bones. My doctor is thinking about the yearly injection of reclast. How safe is it and will I have more problems with my bones aching - I can't sleep at night a lot from the pain.

Almost 2 years ago I had my lower left wisdom tooth removed, ever since I have had problems with my jaw. My jaw now pops, clicks, grinds, and makes crunching noises as well as locks. It causes me a lot of pain at times and seems to now be very sensitive to cold weather. I also notice that when opening and closing my mouth it seems like the alignment of my jaw is wrong, the right side appears to pop out when my mouth opens and the left does not.
It was the weekend I had antibiotics of my husbands (enough for 3 days)I was sure this was an infection.I made an appt w/the oral surgeon . My jaw felt dislocated I couldnt chew and could barely open my mouth.The oral srgeon said it was tmj and that when a tooth is extracted sometimes there is inflamation in the joint he compared it to a disk in a back . I was told to use warm moist heat and given muscle relaxers.
July morning I got up with a severe jaw pain, went to the hospital emergency (in Sweden). My BP and EKG was normal, but Tropomine level was elevated.After one day observation and Angiography the doctor found a 90% blockage in the right coronary artery. Immediate Angioplasty was done and a medicated stent was placed. After 2 days I came home with prescriptions of Clopidogrel 75mg, Metoprololtartrate 50mg, Acetylsalycylic Acid 75 mg. and Simvastatin 40mg. My Total cholesterol was 5.
Because the pressure never dissipated I started to do what i could to relieve it, which was opening my jaw as wide as I could, and clenching it as hard as I could, which would help to relieve the pressure temporarily. I then switched primary care doctors and he said I have TMJ, "theres nothing I can do and I won't give you a referral to an ENT.
My TMJ specialist says he grades my condition as a 3-B out of 5. I can move my jaw normally to the left but only 5cm to the right. My right side being above and behind the condyle. Would this cause ringing and a sense of fullness in both ears? Also, my ears have been popping for several months. I went to an ENT for ETD. How does my TMJ cause this popping? Does it affect the eustachian tube or am I hearing something else?

I am currently still getting my jaw adjusted. As a result I have a situation where I get a little dizzy and very exhausted after I have sung for an hour. I lost my voice completely last fall. When the orthodontist adjusted my jaw back, my voice came back. But if I sing for any length of time, my vocal chords don't hurt, but I feel like a nerve is over stimulated resulting in mild dizziness and exhaustion.
