Evista blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Evista blood pressure

evista

Avatar n tn Is there any drug interaction between these two drugs ? I am taking Evista for Osteoporosis.
Avatar f tn Tamoxifin can cause blood clots and uterine cancer. Evista is a little better in the side effects I believe, however everyone is different. I also have ADH(atypical ductal hyperplasia) and it increased my risk from 1.6 to 3.2 which is doubled, so I am considering the same thing. I am also having pathology reviewed by yet another lab to be sure it is not DCIS, which I am sure the other pathology report is no doubt correct. The best thing for you to do is to research. Then make your decision.
Avatar f tn Could my recurrence of Ovarian cancer be attributed to my taking Evista for a year? I had ovarian cancer 15 years ago and after surgery and chemo, and a "second look" surgery with multiple biopsies was considered cured.I had a complete hysterectomy and the cancer seemed to be contained in my left ovary. Last winter I found a lump in my left groin which was biopsied and diagnosed as ovarian malignancy.
Avatar n tn Hi, Hair loss in a known but not highly common side effect of Evista. If you do a search: "Evista and hair loss" you will find numerous references to this side effect. This link: http://www.ehealthme.com/ds/evista/hair+loss indicates that as of Sep. 15, 2013, 17,635 people were reported to the FDA to have side effects when taking Evista. Among them, 259 people (1.47%) have Hair Loss. Time on Evista when these people had hair loss: < 1 month 4.35% 1 - 6 months 4.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm ok, but I think about this every day since I found out. It bothers me more than I thought it would. I have no known family history, but my mother died at 60 from complications from uterine cancer. I am post menopausal. When I was 49 my husband died and my periods just stopped suddenly and I had only hot flashes. But they were often and I would get drenched at work. So I took Prempro. I never stopped taking it because every time I tried the flashes came back.
Avatar m tn Has anyone heard of taking Tamoxifen or Evista as a possible step in breast cancer prevention? My doctor has suggested it because I'm in a high risk category. I'm not sure what to do.
Avatar f tn I do not want to take Effexor, and Clonidine may lower my blood pressure too much since I am already on two blood pressure meds. I will try the Evista and if get flashes again, I may just stop. I read magnesium helps, so I tried. It did help quite a bit, but unfortunately, if you take enough, you get diarrhea. Some choice. So if anyone knows of other alternatives for flashes, please post.
Avatar f tn I have been taking clonidine, a high blood pressure medication, for it which really helps. It aslo helps you sleep and is very sedating at first, but very short term. Unless your blood pressure is very low, you don't have to worry about it going too low. many people are given an antidepressant for the hot flashes, but it's very painful to get off it, even if it helps a lot while on it. Many women also gain weight on Tamoxifen, but I did not. Really have your Vit. D levels checked out.
Avatar f tn I had a Reclast infusion and within a month my blood pressure had gone from 120/60 to 216/112. I thought I was having a stroke. I am now taking a beta blocker to keep my bp in control. I would NEVER do Reclast again. I also tried Boniva for two months and got terrible vertigo. Since my T score is going down, I am going to try Evista.
Avatar n tn He also said an oncologist would later discuss prophylactic treatment with tamoxifen or evista (I have osteopenia, and he said evista can be beneficial for that). I am very frightened and anxious. Seventeen years ago I had a benign lump removed in the other breast. Two years ago I had emergency surgery for a retinal detachment and have only just now come to terms with my altered vision the various complications from the detachment.
600561 tn?1326845621 I am 68 and all tests indicate that I am in very good health. For the moment, my only perscription drug is Evista. Where can I go with this question? Thanks.
Avatar f tn How long should a woman stay on Evista if no negative side affects?
492490 tn?1255405372 There are also stage III clinical trials for Ovature out there to make you sensitive to platin again -- my doctor also keeps talking about Navelbine as a possible alternative treatment, although my research showed it mainly is used for small cell lung cancer. The Femara, Evista, and Arimidex and Tomoxifen are all used to try to stall the need for chemo again, but don't make anything go away, they just slow it down if the do anything at all,.
Avatar n tn Two lymph nodes were involved, I had a lumpectomy, lymph node dissection (l5), chemo, radiation, and tamoxifen followed by evista, which I currently take. My mother and her sister both had breast cancer (neither died from cancer). No one ever suggested I have anything but a yearly mammogram, always negative. I am most concerned about my daughter, who is scheduled for the MRI guided biopsy Feb. 20. I also wonder if I should be getting any tests other than the yearly mammogram.
Avatar n tn Sorry, I think I wrote too quickly... this sensation is directly behind the lower end of my breast bone, about a circle about 8 inches in diameter, I have avoided caffeine and tried H2 blockers in an attempt to quiet it. B vitamins make no difference. Sudafed makes it wild, my ears ring, it's awful then. My blood pressure at the bloodmobile yesterday was 102/70.
Avatar f tn 9 F or more, then this could indeed be a problem. The only way to know if it is viral or you need an antibiotic is for the doctor to run some blood tests to see if your body is fighting off any illnesses. But also if you are on osteoporosis medications currently, the medication you are taking could be causing your symptoms.
Avatar n tn I am not sure which medication your mother is taking, but Evista (raloxifene) can cause muscle cramps of the legs. Please have your mother make an appointment with her physician.
Avatar n tn They put in a screen to prevent clots from reaching his lungs, and they put him on a blood thinner called Coumadin (which is the same or similar to warfarin, I believe). He will probably be on the Coumadin the rest of his life. That's standard procedure, as I understand it. I take Evista (raloxifene) to fight osteoporosis. The box says that it could cause blood clots, so I know it's possible for drugs to be the culprit.
Avatar n tn Are you asking if there are any exercises which can cure high blood pressure?
Avatar f tn Everything was good except my blood pressure was high for the first time. They told me not to worry and im not. But just wondering how likely it could be that id get pre eclampsia. I only have three weeks to go so thought i was safe from that. Lol. What should i look out for or do till my next appointment?
Avatar f tn The benefits of BP meds could outweigh any risks of high blood pressure. I know that I will have to take BP meds when im pregnant. You should really consult your physician to see if this applies in your case. Aldomet is a BP med that is considered safe in pregnancy. I was on BP meds when I miscarried but had nothing to do with it. BP can be a serious problem in pregnancy and should not be ignored.
212161 tn?1599427282 ok this time took bp while in potty room. my blood pressure went from being 130/67 to 187/90 just because i went bathroom. any ideals. went back to normal after , there was no pushing just bad cramps, with my IBS.
Avatar f tn My blood pressure was 127/91 the other day. My normal is around 120/80. Is it just me or is this a little higher than normal? 10 weeks on Sunday.
Avatar f tn I'll be 37 weeks any my blood pressure keeps going up it was 136/82 at the hospital and today when i checked it at home it is 145/92 the hospital told me to have it checked at the doctor tomorrow, anyone else had this happened to them ? If so what did the doctor do?
8186845 tn?1415020547 Anyone elses blood pressure rising but no protein in their urine causing it? My dr wants to see me weekly now because my blood pressure is 138/88. Im almost 34 weeks.
Avatar f tn I had legit pregnancy hypertension and it was that high during birth so that after, I had a blood pressure cuff that took my pressure every 2 hours for 24 hours. (THAT was a pain as it wakes you up as it squeezes your arm). Just talk to your doctor Paige next visit or even call in before if you are worried.
