Common Questions and Answers about European heart journal subscription

heart

Avatar m tn That is a good question. The European Journal of Heart Failure 2003 June5(3) 271-9 suggested that when treated with ACE inhibiters 325 mg of aspirin is contraindicated. Am J. Heart 1999, Aug 1, 38 p254-260 recommends caution in high doses of aspirin which may cause worsening of the condition with exercise and interfering with gas exchange. If you go to the Pubmed government data base you can see several studies that suggest raising the dose to 325 might not be such a good idea.
Avatar m tn If you have access to electronic research databases, they have the most reliable and up-to-date information available. A lot of them provide links to full-text, scholarly journal articles---and are reliable. Most require a subscription, but if you attend a university you could probably access many of the databases for free.
Avatar m tn CRST is a smaller, non-subscription journal. I do not know how the term effective optics is used or defined.
Avatar f tn aspx  Figure your heart rate by this formula  The Karvonen Formula is a mathematical formula that helps you determine your target heart rate zone. The formula involves using your maximum heart rate (MHR) minus your age to come up with a target heart rate range (which is a percentage of your MHR). Staying within this range will help you work most effectively during your cardio workouts.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thnx for the post. I read in a reputed medical journal- I think European College of Cardiology- that high bilirubin levels may indicate heart failure. In fact my doctor was puzzled at the time, since I did not have jaundice or any other liver disorder. However, I did have SOB and a general heavy feeling, and used to do weights at the time. Since the NSVT appeared for the first time after stopping weights due to SOB, I corelated the SOB and NSVT with heart failure caused by weights.
559053 tn?1274913374 On Monday, Britain's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), said Avandia should be pulled from the UK market because of concerns that the drug could increase the risk of heart attacks. They said an independent panel of experts had advised that the risks of the product outweighed its benefits, and that the drug should no longer be sold in Britain. The body said it had sent a letter to doctors in July advising them to consider alternative treatments.
412832 tn?1219075345 Hi MedHelp, I would definitely be interested in paying a monthly or yearly premium to be able to view this site "ad free." Currently I have two annual subscriptions to online magazines -- for subscription holders the site has no advertising, and for those who don't want to pay, they have same exact access but with ads. Maybe you could figure out how much you would need to charge for that service, then post in every forum to ask if members are interested.
Avatar m tn Eight studies were included in a meta-analysis of published results of primary isolated AVR with SJM prostheses (2986 patients, 16,163 patient-years) in order to estimate the hazard of postoperative valve-related events. Using microsimulation, calculated life expectancy and event-free life expectancy were 22 and 16 years in males aged 35 years, and 7 and 5 years in males aged 75 years, respectively.
272338 tn?1252280404 I have been recieving Womens Day magazine for quite some time now. I recently recieved my Sept. issue with a subscription renewal notice. I sat down and began reading the magazine, and by the time I finished, I had made up my mind that i would not renew my subscription. I found 2 advertisements regarding breast cancer for figurines that stated the proceeds would go towards the fight against breast cancer. Not one place in the magazine did I see even one mention of Ovarian cancer. Come on!
572651 tn?1530999357 I had read this magazine at the neuro's office. I had no idea you could get a subscription for free. I went on line and subscribed. Thanks for the info.
Avatar m tn 20% there is a school of thought that PVCs can cause deterioration of the left ventricular function analogous to tachycardia-induced cardiomyopathy (european journal of heart failure - http://eurjhf.oxfordjournals.org/content/8/8/869.full) which can be a reversible cause of dilated cardiomyopathy. This is consistent with what I've read, however, new research (March 2010) says it's more like >4,000 pvc's.
Avatar m tn A study published in the December issue of the European medical journal Anticancer Research demonstrates that an ingredient used in a common cough suppressant may be useful in treating advanced prostate cancer. Researchers found that noscapine, which has been used in cough medication for nearly 50 years, reduced tumor growth in mice by 60% and limited the spread of tumors by 65% without causing harmful side effects. (whoa!

620048 tn?1358018235 I played the free games for a while and then bought the one year subscription. It seems I ran out of time and forgot that I even could go there to do some mental exercises. LOL It is a great site to give your brain a workout, but there are also other online places to work the noggin. My latest training is I'm hoping my cognitive abilities are being helped by playing Angry Birds.
644974 tn?1312758070 Are you trying to write a journal through the Journal interface or through the Tracker interface? On My MedHelp, on the Journals panel, you should see a link that says, Write a new journal entry. If you click that, you should see a form that has text boxes for Title, Journal Entry and Tags. Do you see that?

Avatar f tn Be careful on what you click on when doing so I wound up somehow with an $18 a month subscription for what I intended to be just a one time question. I used my credit card and after awhile this charge appeared on my card monthly. it took several phone calls and a threat to call the attorney general of our state to stop it. They always refunded my money when I caught them so be careful.
Avatar f tn ..European scientists have successfully tested in animals a vaccine for Hepatitis C, a debilitating viral disease that can cause liver failure and cancer, according to a study released this week. Currently, there is no human vaccine for Hepatitis C, which is spread through contaminated blood and kills some 350,000 people worldwide each year, according to the World Health Organisation. Between 130 and 170 million people are thought to be infected with chronic forms of the disease.
Avatar f tn If ur GERD is related only to ur anxiety, then u need to learn how to relax to try to get rid of as much triggers as possible...certain foods and lifestyle routines may affect ur GERD...so keep a journal to see what ur triggers are. And when u do decide to get off PPI's u do need to step off them slowly a little at a time....PPI's stop acid production, when u stop taking them u body over produces so u again have too much acid and do not feel well....
187316 tn?1386356682 So kinda off topic but I was sitting around thinking today about how Aspen is about to be one and how I have no real record of my pregnancy. Sure I have ultrasound pictures and am working on a baby book but I don't have any kind of pregnancy journal documenting the things I went through while she was in my tummy. Well, then I realized that medhelp is like a giant pregnancy journal!
