Avatar f tn The period was light, but I had just had my normal flow two weeks prior while just taking the estrogen. Also, after bleeding from progesterone withdrawal, will I ovulate normally as if I had just had a regular period. I appreciate any answers anyone can provide. Thanks!
Avatar f tn my breasts started hurting and i started bleeding. no hot flashes! the exact signs and symptoms as when i was young and of childbearing age. i am 50 years old and my periods started to become irregular in 2005. it's new year's eve and no doctor is available to see me. i would appreciate an answer from the medical community. what's wrong with me?
Avatar n tn If it is only at mid cycle with just spotting then it could be just estrogen withdrawal bleeding. However if it is more than that I would be concerned that there may be something wrong with your hormones or with the endometrium ie the uterine cavity. You can be tested for hormone problem by doing a mid luteal progesterone level and you can be tested for uterine problem with a saline infusion sonohysterogram.
722070 tn?1246024974 For the estrogen threshold to be met, you should not be bleeding anymore. Otherwise the lining is not being rebuilt, and you are still experiencing progesterone withdrawal." So if you didn't have 20 days between the first day of your last period (Father's Day) and this bleeding then it is most likely not a period.
Avatar n tn That myth has now been disproved, in fact when you take the pill with a 7 day break it is not really a period but withdrawal bleeding. In the USA it goes by names such as Lybrel (made by Wyeth). If you are outside the USA then you can Google it to find what name it might go by in your country. This type of regime is commonly used to circumvent headaches.migraines, and other period based problems in women, as it stops hormonal fluctuations from occurring. I hope this helps.
18070169 tn?1463175914 I have been on it for five days. If I quit taking it, will I have any withdrawal from it?
Avatar n tn t stop, they will often prescribe Progesterone to stop the bleeding. It does stop the bleeding for the most part. This is usually standard treatment to stop lengthy bleeding as a "bandaid" solution. The root cause of your lengthy bleeding should be gotten to at some point or another as well. There are many causes for prolonged and heavy bleeding such as fibroids, polyps, a thickened endometrium caused by too much or too little of either estrogen or progesterone.
Avatar f tn Thankx for the answers . My period has finally gone off . I guess it wasn't a miscarriage , just how my body reacted to it .. probably like ajccwm said an estrogen withdrawal but I don't think I'm putting another ring in . My boyfriend doesn't want me on any BC . He actually wants a baby . :) But yeah I went through almost two packs of pads too. :/ I was extremely miserable !
Avatar m tn m assuming from skipping my period) and then it stopped. I decided to wait for my withdrawal bleeding and last pill was on the 15th and my period started on the 19th and my 7th day was on the 22nd. I started my new pack of pills on the 23rd of Saturday and I'm on my 3rd pill from my new pack, but my period has not stopped. Im not having heavy periods, but when I wipe, I'm still getting sticky fresh looking blood. Why wont my bc stop my period?
Avatar f tn she said the reason why she put me on birth control instead of regular estrogen is because i havent had a period in a year and she wants the withdrawal bleed. she said that with estrogen I will eventually have a withdrawal bleed but it will not induce it. She said if she were to put me on estrogen I would have to take progesterone simultaneously. So I guess i will finish the last patch that i am wearing i take it off on Monday and hopefully i will have the withdrawal bleed.
Avatar f tn stress induced low estrogen levels. So I was put on hormones again and I started bleeding after about 19 days. After a few months I started bleeding after 10 days. My doctor said it was unusual, but I should continue taking the hormones in sequence. We eventually changed the approach. She told me to take estrogen and gestagen together. She said I would not have any periods at all, but after 20 days I was bleeding again. She doesn't know why and I will try another brand of hormones.
1287560 tn?1272216521 Hello I have posted this question on the other forum but have had no rsponse so am just asking you ladies or any answers, does anyone have any idea whilst on the 2ww some ladies (me for instance) bleed from day 11-13 although on progesterone and others do not until they stop their meds after getting the dreaded BFN. Also has anyone had 2 or 3 embryos put back, still had some bleeding and gone on to have a pregnancy i.e one of the embryos must have stuck.
Avatar f tn Hi, i would like to ask you if somebody had low progesterone and estrogen dominance but get worse after progesterone intake? I am not in menopause yet but have hot flashes and severe acid reflux. I think one of the reason is hormonal imbalace. After saliva test i was told i have low adrelas and cortisol, DHNA and progesteron level in comparison to estrogen. I was taking natural progesteron for 1 month but only 50 mg bc i was too drowsy with full pull.
Avatar n tn Progesterone levels fall and that allows the extra estrogen to cause us to be estrogen dominant. Estrogen dominance can also cause higher cholesterol levels by the way. :) My suggestion....let this period go for a few more days and see if it slows down. If it doesn't or it gets heavier and you're feeling "unwell" with it, give your doc a call.
Avatar n tn The concern I have again is could using estrogen cream bring on bleeding. My gynaecologist said that if I have further bleeding (after none for over 7 months now) she will have to do another hysteroscopy. Of course I am trying to avoid that situation. My main symptoms for treatment are anxiety and vaginal dryness. I was wondering if anybody has had a similar condition/suggestion and whether they found the estrogen cream was okay for them.
594189 tn?1386916607 Does anyone know about low estrogen affects ovulation? Since she said my estrogen level is low.
Avatar f tn t, appears you have many clear signs of estrogen dominance. I believe estrogen to progesterone should be 2:1 (according to more naturopath MDs) and that is what I strive for, but definitely get many of the symptoms you list above when my estrogen gets too high. Saw 3 traditional OBGYNs + 2 internists who were of no help to me and their primary solution was BCP then finally got relief from a preventative medicine MD.
Avatar f tn Which is okay when it is not heavy, but I went on the depo shot because a friend had suggested it to me. She said she experienced bleeding after the shot and was prescribed estrogen for it. She took it for 3 days and her periods and spotting stopped completely. Now, my doctors will not prescribe me anything. My family doctor said he has never heard of this, and my gyno (which is the same doctor who prescribed her the estrogen) keeps saying ignore it.
1031343 tn?1287386579 * The bleeding may be a result of temporary withdrawal of estrogen at the time of ovulation. This causes the endometrium to shrink a little and cause bleeding. It is more common when the pelvic organs are congested with blood. * Some researchers believe that the bleeding may come from the cervix, the glands of which also proliferate in the oestrogenic phase. * Another view is that the bleeding may come from the ovary at the time of ovulation. " Hope this helps.
613536 tn?1294238447 I am officially off b/c and was wondering how long the withdrawal bleeding should last...
Avatar f tn My period ended 15 days ago, about a week and a half ago my husband and I had sex with no pain at all, completely normal, but when I went to the bathroom I realized I was bleeding, not gushing but enough to worry about. When I woke up the next morning I wasn't bleeding. maybe two days after the initial bleeding I started to spot and had a severe pain in the lower left part of my stomach. It stopped the next day.
Avatar f tn The bleeding that you are having seems like break through bleeding. It is the type of bleeding that occurs when taking hormonal oral contraceptives (OC’s) and may also be caused by hormonal effects of ovulation. Breakthrough bleeding may also itself be a symptom of pregnancy (contraceptive failure).
Avatar m tn m not a doctor and I have no experience with medicine, but from what I have researched online about the hormones that control your menstrual cycle, and from my experience taking birth control, you could be having symptoms of estrogen dominance as withdrawal from taking birth control. It is easy enough from the North American diet for the body to produce more estrogen than it does progesterone. Both of these hormones need to be in your body for you to get your period.
Avatar n tn after bleeding a month my doctor put me estrogen when i stopped bleeding i stopped taking it and didnt finish my perscription then i started bleeding again, after bleeding for more than seven days i realalized it wasnt my period i started taking estrogen again, and again when i stopped bleeding i stopped taking it, i called my doctor, he said dont take anything anymore for the bleeding, he also said spot bleeding could be a sign of withdraw from estrogen.
Avatar n tn My problem is I started bleeding again. What could be causing this. I have been bleeding for about a week now ; its been enough that I have to wear a pad.
