Estradiol levels menopause

Common Questions and Answers about Estradiol levels menopause

Avatar f tn s a fairly normal level of estradiol pre-menopause. the FSH is elevated but not nearly as high as it might be in menopause. I'm still not yet through to the other side of menopause with estradiol at <10 and my FSH around 90. You are in the age range to have perimeno symptoms. These can fluctuate a LOT. You could all of a sudden begin getting regular periods again, keep having them be spaced out or anything inbetween.
Avatar f tn ve been feeling the symptoms of menopause so had my levels checked. Total estrogen came back as 892 pg/ml. The doctor is telling me this is within normal limits of the lab that tested my blood. It sounds high to me and I cannot find any definite answers online. Any information is greatly appreciated as this has me worried. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and have been in menopause for over a year. No oeriod in 10 months. I have recently gained about 8 pounds in the last two months, change in bowel habits, sore breasts. Just been feeling that my period is coming but it doesn't. Called my doctor to check my hormone levels. My estradiol went from less then 15 to 454. Not on any hormone therapy except for OTC Estroven. Hot flashes have stopped maybe because my estrogen has gone nuclear.
Avatar n tn My reproductive endo says I am low in estrogen (I am 32) so I am contemplating some sort of hormone replacement therapy (Vivelle-dot and prometrium). My estradiol levels have come back repeatedly on the low end (in the 60's or 40's) but my FSH levels are normal. My last estradiol was taken on day 12 and it was 40 which is low but I don't have regular cycles. Honestly, I don't know if the low estradiol would cause the weight gain...
Avatar f tn Hello. I am a 34yo with a past history of hodgkins lymphoma(almost 10 years ago) and currently hypothyroidism for which i take 75mcg of Levothyroxine daily. I was told by my oncologist that fertility would not be an issue. My husband and I stopped contraception (condoms) over a year ago and I have never used anyother type of contraception my whole life. We have been activey trying for about 5 months to no avail.
Avatar f tn No one once looked to Ovarian hormone decline (specifically low levels of estradiol) until she spoke with Christianne Northrup, MD (doctor/speaker/writer on peri/menopause). I frequently had chest pains just before my period and I have noticed the heart palps for years and years prior to my hysterectomy. Now when I get them, I take note of it since it tells me that I may need to either increase my dose of estradiol or that I need to change my estradiol patch sooner...
Avatar f tn My doctor had my FSH, LH, progesterone, and estradiol levels tested twice. Here are my results: FSH first test: 6.2 second test: 6.8 LH first test: normal apparently, but I didn't see what exactly it was second test: 7.9 Estradiol first test: not sure, but normal apparently second test: 52 I'm a little concerned about the estradiol. A few sources I've checked online have said that an estradiol level of above 50 can mask a high FSH. Is this true?
Avatar n tn If less than 60 years old and taking tamoxifen or toremifene, the blood levels of FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) and estradiol should be in the post-menopausal range. So for your case, you should have your blood levels for FSH and estradiol tested. If the levels are low enough, you could be considered as post-menopausal.
Avatar f tn 625 and was doing well, but for the past 6 months I can not get a nornal meal down, all I eat are sweets, ceral, choclate anything and I do not feel right, I went to my OBGYN and I asked if I needed some test done to test my levels and she said it will test the same once your levels are high it will stay there, but I am telling you something is wrong, what should I do, my daughter suggested to go to an endocrinologist, I do not know what they do annd I am tired of these Dr's who do not liste
Avatar f tn I started having the usual symptoms of menopause about the same time I had my first migraine, Jan 4. 2003. I had never had a migraine until that day. Not one. My physicians told me over and over that the migraines are not related to the hyster.. I can't really see how that's possible. Many of the menop. symptoms have lessened but the migraines are as strong as ever. I take Femtrace as a hormone replacement.
Avatar f tn FSH 23.3 LH 8.3 Estradiol 56.7 Can anyone explain this to me? Thanks in advance.
14774527 tn?1436560759 Having your hormone levels checked may be helpful (estradiol and FSH). Estrogen deficiency is associated with a number of increased health risks along with some debilitating symptoms. So do your research about the risks and benefits of estrogen to decide if it is right for you.
Avatar n tn One way to find out where you are in ovarian function is to get hormone blood tests estradiol, FSH , and LH.
Avatar n tn Hi. I'm new to this post & am not even sure if this is the right place to post, if not I am sorry but any help is appreciated. I'll try to ask all the questions I have at once. Hopefully it won't be too confusing. FIRST: I AM NOT ON ANY HRT YET!! #1: I'm 42 yrs old. 1.5 yrs. ago began "menopause" with FSH levels at 56.5. In January '07 had "period", went to gyno, got checked out, took another FSH & it came back 8.5.
865758 tn?1285952904 Previous to that my OB/GYN diagnosed me with low estrogen. My estradiol level was 42. When my endo doc ran the TPO antibody test he also checked my testosterone levels and they have come back high. Does the thyroid cause all these other imbalances as well? My endo suggested peri menopause because of the Hashimoto's and I have all the symptoms but afraid that it is just the thyroid messing everything up.
Avatar n tn m-in-menopause- an FSH consistently over 30 means you are in menopause. With your FSH so high I would think that you are in menopause even if you only had the one test. If you are on any hormones those can skew the tests but I would think they'd show a lower FSH than without hormones.
Avatar f tn The nurse called me with the results and said everything was normal except my Vitamin D levels, and for that I have started taking supplements. She could give me no reason for why I have stopped having a period beyond her explanation of stress. I am having a hard time with that reasoning. The reference ranges that the lab uses says that my TSH is in range, but upon my research I have found that that may not be the case. Also, my Estradiol level seems low to me.
Avatar f tn This can cause a sudden feeling of warmth of soles or that spreads over the upper body, irregular periods and vaginal dryness. In order to rule it out, you need to get your serum estradiol levels and FSH levels done after consulting a gynecologist. Other than that, hypothyroidism and anxiety disorder also need to be ruled out. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
Avatar n tn I have heard that thyroid problems cause early menopause. Tried asking my mom when she started going through menopause and it seemed she said around 50 which is still young. and she also has thyroid problems.
Avatar f tn A few days after I had light spotting and stupid me asked the gp to add hormones to my test. My fsh came out at 197 and estradiol below 20 (POST menopausal). I freakedout so bad I left my phone at the supermarket and it was stolen. I had a test done 10 months ago bc I skipped a period and levels were normal. And then all normal cycles back to back and to have a dumb doctor tell you theyhaven’t seen levels that high so most likely post menopausal.
Avatar f tn I'm taking estrace 4 mg daily and have also taken estradiol before, and have not had a problem with vertigo. Why do you associate it with the estradiol? I thought positional vertigo had to do with little calcifications in the inner ear breaking off wherever they are attached and floating around. Do you think this comes from estrogen use? I had heard it came from something else.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar n tn i had a partial hysterectmy in 1992 i still have both my ovaries i have been to the dr and had a hormone test done and it was normal but i have all the symptoms of menopause except for the exctreme hotflases i have them but they are very very mild and not often, could i be going thru menopause?
Avatar f tn I went to my doctor again two months ago, and he had my FSH, LH, estradiol, and progesterone levels tested, as he said there was a small chance that I could be experiencing premature ovarian failure. He said the results were normal. I had all the tests done again last month (including thyroid), and again, I was told everything was still normal. My doctor put me on birth control (Tri-Sprintec) this month in hopes that my symptoms would level out.
Avatar n tn I am a 25 year old female, I had a saliva hormone kit evaluated with testosterone, DHEA, estradiol, and progesterone, also progesterone/estradiol ratio done. The results came back as this, Estradiol- normal Progesterone- Low; 47.2 (range of 127-446) Ratio of Progesterone to estradiol - 33.0 Low; (range of 200-600) Testosterone- 83.5 High; (range of 6.0-49) DHEA- 366.7 High- (range of 106-300) I can tell that i have way higher 'male hormones' than the women's hormones but, why?
Avatar f tn And also cholesterol levels? Low thyroid and low testosterone often are associated with high lipid/cholesterol levels.
