Avatar n tn I had a total hystrectomy at 30, now 43 I am going thru Menopause, I have already gained weight in my belly and hormones are crazy, now my doctor wants to put me on Estradiol, will it make me gain more weight?
Avatar f tn My doctor mentioned that while in menopause, it is common to need more thyroid hormone replacement since I have no thyroid to compensate. Since I am taking estradiol and progesterone and seem to be doing much better since it was adjusted three weeks ago, could I possibly need less armour than I did before?
Avatar f tn I'm 44 and have had very sporadic periods for a couple of years. My last period was last July. I had a blood test a couple of weeks ago and my doctor has confirmed perimenopause. My fsh was 58 and my estradiol was 223. He said that explained why I had had any "normal" menopause symptoms and said it means I don't need to consider hrt yet. Having Googled it seems unusual for estradiol levels to still be so high. Does anyone know what it might mean?
Avatar n tn Hello, I have had menstrual migraines for over 30 years and as I get closer to menopause, things are getting worse. I had a hysterectomy last July and have been taking.25mg estradiol gel every night and when I first started taking it, it seemed like the headaches were not so bad. Now I am wondering if I should bump it up to .
Avatar n tn But here in the UK an estradiol of 23 on day 3 of your cycle shows you are past perimenopause, and either in menopause or post-menopausal. I myself am undergoing a premature early menopause and my estriadiol is the same. Also it would be useful if you could let me know what your FSH was, as this is the main indicator for menopause assessment. An FSH of above 25 on day 3 shows menopause, the higher the figure, the more into the menopause you are. Mine is currently at 60!
Avatar f tn Estradiol, estrone, and estriol are forms of estrogen with estradiol and estrone being the primary (and maybe only) systemic forms of estrogen. My lab's ranges show a max non-pregnancy and non-menopausal value of estradiol to be 498 pg/mL and estrone 268 pg/mL. Estradiol can exceed 4300 in the first trimester of pregnancy. And post-menopausal levels are less than 54 and less than 65, respectively.
Avatar n tn According to this website https://www.menopause.org/for-women/menopauseflashes/menopause-symptoms-and-treatments/how-do-i-know-when-i'm-in-menopause- an FSH consistently over 30 means you are in menopause. With your FSH so high I would think that you are in menopause even if you only had the one test. If you are on any hormones those can skew the tests but I would think they'd show a lower FSH than without hormones.
Avatar f tn I seriously doubt that migranes are related to menopause..they are related to stress so by having stress from hyster, and medically induced menopause it could be said there is a connection. I saw the Ophrah show you speakof and I am 47 have had a medically induced menopause via hysterectomy also...my doctor recomedded bio identical hrt I only take estrogen...its good for bone desity, helps with nerves and anger outbursts I was having also took away hot flashes and insomnia..
Avatar m tn I have been taking estradiol for 6 years and more recently bi-est. three months ago I had Pnemonia and even with using bi -est, I am having hot flashes and night sweats which has never happened to me on a constant basis. My husband thinks the pnemunia/fever rearranged my hormones and it will take awhile for them to settle down. I am 57 and was pretty stable on the bi-est. has this ever happened to anyone else?? Thx!
Avatar f tn I'm taking estrace 4 mg daily and have also taken estradiol before, and have not had a problem with vertigo. Why do you associate it with the estradiol? I thought positional vertigo had to do with little calcifications in the inner ear breaking off wherever they are attached and floating around. Do you think this comes from estrogen use? I had heard it came from something else.
Avatar f tn How long after a confirmed pregnancy are you suppose to continue taking Estradiol? Just read on the internet that it can cause birth defects and I can't reach my doctor to confirm this.
Avatar f tn I am 53 and have been in menopause for over a year. No oeriod in 10 months. I have recently gained about 8 pounds in the last two months, change in bowel habits, sore breasts. Just been feeling that my period is coming but it doesn't. Called my doctor to check my hormone levels. My estradiol went from less then 15 to 454. Not on any hormone therapy except for OTC Estroven. Hot flashes have stopped maybe because my estrogen has gone nuclear.
Avatar f tn hello! I am a 30 year old recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been feeling like garbage recently and have not been able to find a doctor who can help. I recently went through my lab results from September and see my Estradiol is <5.00 pg/mL. I am also on Lo Loestrin. Can the birth control be causing the very low numbers, my PCOS, something else? The numbers are those of someone in menopause, so it is a bit concerning. Any insight is appreciated!

Avatar f tn I had moderate endometriosis (caused heavy painful periods)so I had a laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, d and c, and another HSG and the following month and any other time it has been tested, it has been in the 5 to 6 range. So even though the drs wont say one way or the other in my situation I think my endo. was making mine high. I havent researched it or anything but I have no other explaination except that. Maybe something to look into.
Avatar f tn I am glad to say that your FSH, Estradiol, LH, Prolactin and TSH are all normal for cycle day 3. The Estradiol should be low on cycle day 3 and the FSH, just as you said. If they were high then you would have a problem. You are not close to menopause. I do think you should see a specialist to help you get pregnant . They can do further work up on you as well as your husband. But good news, you are not menopausal.
Avatar f tn My doctor had my FSH, LH, progesterone, and estradiol levels tested twice. Here are my results: FSH first test: 6.2 second test: 6.8 LH first test: normal apparently, but I didn't see what exactly it was second test: 7.9 Estradiol first test: not sure, but normal apparently second test: 52 I'm a little concerned about the estradiol. A few sources I've checked online have said that an estradiol level of above 50 can mask a high FSH. Is this true?
Avatar f tn How do I tell what is surgical menopause and what is a reaction to the patch/ Cream bioidentical estradiol? How do I tell what a hot flash is versus when I have a 99 degree temp? I have tried every dosage down to .375 and still cant handle it..tried .1 for a week felt like I was going to have a stroke. .5 totally unbearable. What can I do??? I feel I am too young to not have replacement and yet replacement feels like its hurting my body.
Avatar f tn In the last year, I would say that the symptoms including hot flashes, have been unbearable at times and have been more frequently and more severly. He has increased the dosage since and where the hot flashes are subsiding, the mood swings are now way out of control. Watching a commercial can literally send me into a complete crying tail spin.
Avatar m tn My daughter (13yo) has been having heavy and long periods. She went to see the dr (in China) and they gave her Femoston. All I can find about this when I search is for older women & Menopause. I am worried about giving her it. Can anyone advise.
667829 tn?1297978123 my gp who read out the numbers said you're not in menopause but either she didn't realize that the estradiol number is important in conjunction with the fsh, or she didn't look the the est number or.?????
Avatar f tn i just wonder what could be caiusing the headaches and breast soreness and also i have depression and on meds for it but its seems my mood is worse since starting the estradiol and promitrium....i have called dr and she is trying to help me but i dont think estradiol is for me..
Avatar n tn I recently read an academic article that warned that so called "natural hormones" (also called bio-identical) are really no different than man-made hormones. I also read another article that said that the only symptoms that are proven to be linked to menopause are hot flashes and vaginal dryness.
Avatar n tn And, it was honest. I so often feel the same way. I take estradiol (the only estrogen to use in my opinion) and Testosterone. My husband has been trying to get to the root of some problems that have caused a huge lack of desire... we think it is related to Sleep apnea and he will be tested... yeah! But, when I mentioned this to my doctor, he said, "Oh, you don't need the testosterone, then.
Avatar f tn YES! Big time correlation between Hashimoto's and premature menopause/premature ovarian failure (POF) and infertility. I went through this at 34 when I was TTC. Started having more and more irregular periods, hot flashes, insomnia, etc. By the time I got my hormones checked my ob/gyn told me I'd already gone through menopause. :( Did not find out until this year (at 38) that I had Hashimoto's...and finally had an understanding of why I went through premature meno.
Avatar f tn I have been going thru menopause for 1 1/2 yrs, I was put om premilin .
