Avatar n tn Low T or what is called Low Testosterone levels. However, this is normally seen in males who are much older in life usually around mid-40 on. There have been a few cases of men who are younger whose testosterone levels are low but that is a very rare thing.Don't quote me on that, though. Only thing I can tell you to do is to have your husband tested for the possibility of Low T and see if that may be the problem.
Avatar m tn Well, uncontrolled diabetes and high blood pressure are both precursors of erectile dysfunction. Also, some medications taken for high blood pressure can cause erectile dysfunction. So, first rule out these causes. Just taking supplements may not help. You need to be evaluated by a doctor and proper medication can help restore the erectile function. Please consult your doctor regarding this. Take care!

Avatar n tn one of the first things my Hepatologist told me before therapy was that I would probably experience erectile dysfunction during tx, as most of his male patients had over the years. He has treated literally hundreds of patients in large and small scale studies, and has published tons of articles and study results. Avatar m tn If you have had long-standing hemorrhoids, you will need to rule out the possibility that an older infection could have caused alterations in blood supply to the reproductive organs. Men with hemorrhoids can develop conditions called the levator ani syndrome or proctalgia fugax. Either condition can cause alterations in the function of the perineal muscles.
Avatar m tn Also, beware of older male doctors. They all learned in school that erectile dysfunction is a psychiatric problem. If the guy you see is dismissive and tries to talk you out of your symptoms, find another one. Good luck.

Avatar f tn That the Metoprolol caused your erectile dysfunction is a presumption and I think an incorrect one at that. I know that the text books say that beta blockers cause erectile dysfunction but in practice they very rarely do. The most cause of your erection difficulties is performance anticipation. You are wondering if you are going to be able to get an erection and failure then becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. The way around this is to take intercourse off the menu for a while.
Avatar m tn B12 deficiency can result in erectile dysfunction (ED) because the nerves in the penis can become damaged making it impossible to achieve or maintain an erection. We routinely see general practitioners, internists and urologists prescribing medications for patients with ED. We also see them blaming other disease processes, such as diabetes, for ED impotence, or incontinence. Typically they fail to contemplate that B12 deficiency may be causing or or contributing to these problems.

Is it safe to take the Cialis?

Avatar m tn Could you list your lab ranges for testosterone and prolactin. In general, blood prolactin above 200 ng/ml almost always is diagnostic of a true prolactinoma. High prolacin lowers testosterone. And if your testosterone is also measured in ng/dL that is so low it's ridiculous! Research shows over 95% of euthyroid patients with no thyroid symptoms has a TSH under 2.5mU/L. TSH is of no value with conditions that do not affect the thyroid such as central hypothyroidism and cellular resistance.
