Avatar m tn just to name a few. Anxiety and stress play an important role in the development of erectile dysfunction; and is the most common possible cause. At a primary level, I would suggest being a bit relaxed and working on the psychological factors with your partner. You could also see a psychotherapist/ behavioral therapist for the same. It might also be beneficial to get rid of factors like smoking/ alcohol/ drugs, if involved.

Avatar n tn I did go to my doctor last year with the medication leaflets and asked her if it was possible that my Erectile Dysfunction was due to my medication. I must admit to my embarrassment especially as it was a young good looking female doctor, however I was determined to get an answer whatever. She replied that the medication is giving me a longer life span than I would have without it! She gave me no encouraging remarks regarding my E.D. When I told my wife, she wasn't impressed!
Avatar m tn Wow, incredibly informative nohard! I do have to say though if your diabetes is way out of control it sometimes cannot immediately be controlled with just diet. Most cases that I've known and seen (tons of family with diabetes) diet is the main way to keep it in check, but sometimes it's not enough. When my grandma was going through chemo- diet wasn't enough to control her diabetes, she needed a prescription.
Avatar n tn While you may be a candidate for the drugs as they do help in the recovery (especially if you never had any erectile dysfunction before the surgery), these drugs would also have side effects and may be contraindicated in the presence of other conditions like heart disease and run contrary to other medications. The nature of the surgery is also important, as the proof of treatment effect was conducted for men who had nerve sparing surgery.
Avatar f tn This is something to ask a prescribing doctor about. Don't just order viagra and take it but have a doctor prescribe and take under his supervision. There has been a link shown between have peyronie's disease (curvature of the penis) and erectile dysfunction. That's also something to talk to the doctor about. There is not absolute contraindication not to take viagra if you have a curved penis, no. This article talks about ED actually causing the curved penis! https://consultqd.
Avatar f tn At this age it is better to get your usband’s cardiac status checked. It is said that erectile dysfunction and heart disease go hand in hand because about 7 in 10 cases of erectile dysfunction are due to narrowing of the small arteries in the penis.

Avatar m tn Hello all I am a 25 year old man with high blood pressure and erectile dysfunction. I had read alot about erectile dysfunction being a symptom of coronary artery disease. Does my nornal stress test rule that out? Why am I impotent?
Avatar m tn Other than that there are many other causes of erectile dysfunction such as stress and anxiety, depression, smoking, alcohol, and illicit drugs, high blood pressure, poor circulation and peripheral vascular disease, heart or thyroid conditions, spinal cord injury, nerve damage (for example, from prostate surgery), or neurologic disorders (such as multiple sclerosis or Parkinson's disease).
Avatar m tn There was a link that was first made known, for example, in 2002 that heart disease and weak erections were noticed. And years later, they found that erectile dysfunction was predictive of future heart disease. I think any man, especially a younger man, with weaker erections should talk to your doctor about it and perhaps begin monitoring. Also, as we all know stress can impact this so would try to also monitor that to see if it is impactful. https://www.webmd.
Avatar n tn Lifestyle choices that contribute to heart disease and vascular problems also raise the risk of erectile dysfunction. Smoking, being overweight, and avoiding exercise are possible causes of ED. Also, surgery (especially radical prostate and bladder surgery for cancer) can injure nerves and arteries near the penis, causing ED. Injury to the penis, spinal cord, prostate, bladder, and pelvis can lead to ED by harming nerves, smooth muscles, arteries, and fibrous tissues of the corpora cavernosa.
Avatar m tn It is true that diabetes can cause erectile dysfunction but even people with prediabetes may experience erectile dysfunction (ED). This is because nerve damage can occur even before a type 2 diabetes diagnosis, when a person has prediabetes. Poorly managed blood sugar control can damage the blood vessels and nerves, including the blood vessels and nerves in the penis. This type of nerve damage can prevent a man from getting and sustaining an erection.

It is not uncommon to have erectile dysfunction accompany hypertension. To answer your questions specifically 1.
612551 tn?1450022175 I think I was/am. I now have a prescription for Cialis and a large discount coupon.. Medicare and thus my Part D doesn't pay anything toward the cost of this expensive medication. My cardiologist has also said Cialis could be taken and may help, he also said I can try stopping my beta blocker as long as my AFib doesn't make my heart run too high a heart rate. I am also thinking testing a drop in Statin drugs. All testing has been approved by my Primary Care and Cardiologist.
Avatar n tn I have now split up with the girl and am on Seroxat and hardly getting a decent erection very short lasting. Is this purely psychologically or a combination of both?
Avatar m tn If you do have erectile dysfunction, your doctor may prescribe viagra, cialis or levitra to help you maintain and achieve a full erection BUT those medicine only works if you're sexually excited in the brain. In other words, if you're still worrying about your sexual performance, the medicine may not work. Another thing that is slowly on the rise informational wise and causes erectile dysfunction is over-masturbation.
Avatar f tn It's not irritated in anyway, and it's not for Ed either, but thank you for the concern, I just don't think it looks attractive
