epipen

Avatar n tn Hello I have severe reactions from insect stings especially bee stings. Its so bad that 1 or 2 stings will put me into anaphylactic shock. I have over 5000+ PVC's a day and the docs say it is a supposed benign condition. (which I do not believe). My wife has never had a pvc or palpitations. Anyways, I have to carry around a epipen everywhere I go. Last year I was working in my back yard and was stung twice, once in the face under the eye and once in my arm.

2147300 tn?1369689688 I do not have any reactions normally to stings except tourettes. Did I do the right thing or should I watch for something to develop. It has been half hour and I am going to war in few minutes with sevin dust.
Avatar f tn I had to use my epi several times not just for bee stings
230262 tn?1316645934 d suggest you get a pediatric Epipen. Personally I keep 2 on hand. You should have 1 at school for him and one either in your purse or at home. He should have one available at all times. These allergies accelerate quickly. Check for dosage with your doctor, but you can also use benadryl for allergic reactions. I'm so sorry this happened to your children. These stings hurt horribly! And right now with school starting, you all have enough on your plate. Good luck at the clinic tonight.
Avatar f tn Bee stings really did not work. I had several friends who tried it back in the day. No one kept up with it.
338416 tn?1420045702 Chances are that the antihistamine was a histamine H1-receptor antagonist. Many protein based allergens (bee/wasp stings, etc.) seem to trigger histamine H2 responses. Since Copaxone is a copolymer, histamine H1-receptor antagonist may not work well. The histamine H2-receptor antagonists, like cimetidine (Tagamet) or ranitidine (Zantac) and famotidine (Pepcid) might actually work better. I know, it sounds goofy, but the histamine response causes the acid pumps in the stomach to turn on.
645800 tn?1466860955 I am very allergic to bee stings and am suppose to always have an injection within a very short amount of time or I could easily die. Twice since I found out that I am that allergic to bee stings I have been stung. Both times (the first with standard needle and syring, second with epipen) I could not inject myself despite the fact that I could die any minute. So are they all injections? If they are is there some way anyone knows that I can get someone to give me the shots if needed?
1331797 tn?1276142331 When I was first diagnosed, years ago, they were using bee stings as a possible treatment for MS. The doctor told me that outside of bee stings there really wasn't much else they could offer me other than comfort drugs. I settled for the comfort (Of which there was very little) and ate bee pollen by the hand full! All I got from that was beautiful hair and nails not to mention a slight pain med addiction! I sometimes forget to be grateful. But every time I see a bee it comes back to me.
539780 tn?1213943976 After a few days if still swollen running hot water over the sting area makes it drain faster. Like hot water in the shower for 15 minutes twice a day on that spot. For me the swelling will stay for a good 2 weeks. But if I repeat hot water over the sting area I an make it go away in just a few days. By now you would have known if you were allergic. So if you had an allergic reaction other than swelling take antihistamine before running hot water over it.
645800 tn?1466860955 After I was stabilized they sent me home with an RX for an EpiPen. But 4 hours later I was back in the ER with a second reaction to that bee sting that was just as bad as the first one. This time they kept me for about 8 hours just to make sure I didn't have yet another episode. You can just imagine the nightmare it was with my insurance company when the hospital billed them for 2 ER visits on the same day for the same thing.

1322157 tn?1279656681 His EPI pen is mostly for bee stings and food allgeries, I have one at home in my purse at all times and the school also keeps one there. Benadryl has done so good for him many many times. It don't make me tired either. Do they have any night time benadryl for older people? I only look at the kids.
Avatar f tn To your query about whether he may be allergic to wasps and bees in other countries, then it is very difficult to say anything without allergy testing. You can get your son allergy tested by an allergist for the different wasp or insect stings and then avoidance of these will be the best treatment. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how your son is doing or if you have any additional doubts.Warm regards.
506903 tn?1211847133 Hi, there! Apitherapy (Bee Venom Therapy) has been around for half a century or so and because the bee venom appears to have an antiinflammatory action on the nerves it has been used with a lot of "anecdotal" success by lots of people. It is an old part of Chinese traditional medicine for a wide variety of illnesses. Enthusiasm for it heightened in the mid to late 90's when it was featured on one of the News Magazine TV shows like 60 Minutes.
Avatar n tn The syphilis blood tests are highly reliable and no medical conditions, including allergic reactions (to bee stings or anything else), have any effect on test reliability. Your 7 week test result will be accurate.

Avatar f tn im on day 6 ct from percs/hydro and just wanted to say how much reading this site has helped me, hearing that everyone else knew what it felt like and made it through was really what gave me hope. for the first few days my back pain was intolerable so i began bee sting therapy again, something i did before the opiates, and honestly the pain from 10 bee stings a day was better than the back pain, this still did nothing for the WD's which were agony.
