Avatar f tn There is obviously something wrong with me because my thyroid is very enlarged and I have all the symptoms of hypo, but the TSH test says I am no where near hypo. Is there anything else it could be or that I should mention to my doctor?
Avatar m tn I’ve had 2 needle biopsies both inconclusive. The Thyroid specialist is more concerned with the wall of the enlarged thyroid rather then the liquid within it. All my blood work is normal however the thyroid specialist told me that it’s about a 15-20% chance it could be cancer. I haven't had too many problems with the enlarged thyroid besides the fact I feel pressure when I swallow. but I worry that it will get worse and it will also affect my breathing.
Avatar m tn That does not mean the thyroid cannot be enlarged and causing local neck symptoms though -- neck ultrasound is the best way to characterize thyroid growth. PCOS would be the most likely cause for many of the other symptoms. Also consider sleep apnea.
1972965 tn?1334854702 I have the same problem, enlarged thyroid, normal labs and no diagnosis, but experience hyper symptoms.
Avatar n tn Goiters or nodules do not come with the typical thyroid symptoms and they usually have normal thyroid levels, with the exception of certain types or depending on the underlying cause of the goiter. Depending on the size of the nodule, symptoms may include difficulty swallowing and/or breathing, shortness of breath, and voice changes (hoarseness). Pain is uncommon.
Avatar f tn MRI of the brain negative, mildly enlarged thyroid with bilateral non vascularized nodules, positive for thyroid antibodies but normal thyroid function, negative for sjongren, lupus, RA, cholesterol ok, glucose level ok. I am waiting for a GI appt.
Avatar m tn i'm new to this and i have alot of concerns. i'm 22 and for the past 3 years (since i had my son) i've experienced an array of symptoms. Last year I was diagnosed with PCOS and i thought thats it now i can get better, but i was wrong. My thyroid has been enlarged since my son was born and i have had chronic fatigue. I cannot lose more than 10 pounds no matter how hard i try (one day i literally weighed 7 pounds lighter than the day before).
532425 tn?1218524013 My TSH is 0.01 (hyperthyroid) T4 1.44 (normal range) but all my symtoms are hypo - major weight gain, constipation, heavy periods (had a hystrocomy last yr @ 35 yrs old) low energy, muscle/joint pain, basisclly I feel like I'm coming down with the flu every 3-4 days and it takes a couple days to feel better. Does anyone have any advise????
1488651 tn?1296698023 I also am getting severe headaches, chills, cough, and my thyroid gland seems constantly enlarged at all times with pain. Plus always fatigued !!!!! Does anyone else have any of this symptoms??
Avatar n tn The report indicates that your thyroid is normal - the texture (homogeneous) is all the same and though the isthmus (middle section of the thyroid) and right lobe are slightly enlarged, you have no nodules or cysts. Basically, the Impression says it all: “Unremarkable thyroid ultrasound” What prompted you to have the ultrasound? Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid condition or had any thyroid blood work done? If so, what tests were done and were the results within normal ranges?
Avatar m tn I am just wondering what could cause the thyroid gland to be enlarged but blood test normal? Is there another possible disease or something that I could have causing the thyroid gland to enlarge? My doctor I'm currently going to doesn't seem to think its a thyroid disease anymore but can't answer my question of why my thyroid keeps enlarging.
Avatar f tn I just want to know why my thyroid would have nodules all of a sudden, along with other symptoms of thyroid problems, but normal blood tests?! Very confusing to me......
1826858 tn?1323796104 I had blood test done in october my tsh is 0.44 my free t4 is 1.09 my free t3 is3.0 my tpoab is 10. All these test are normal. Yet I went to my ENT and he noticed I have a goiter bigger on right side then left. Thyroid problems run deep in my family. Both my mother and daughter have been diagnosed with hashimoto's. I however am having symptoms of hyperthyroid. weight loss, dry thinning hair, anxiety, muscle spasm's like crazy, insomnia.
Avatar f tn I found out a month ago that I have an enlarged thyroid with multiple cysts that measure 5 mm. All of my bloodwork (Free Thyroxin, Sensitive TSH, Anti-thyroid Microsomal, Thyroglobulin, TSI) has come back within normal ranges. I had a thyroid scan and uptake done and there appeared no hot or cold spots. Although the uptake did reveal high numbers and they asked me to come back in 24 hours to repeat that and it was still high.
Avatar m tn It's me that has the enlarged tongue. My thyroid has been treated for 9 months now, but my tongue is still fat! I get muscle spasms all over my body, but not my tongue. Sore gums could be a sign of b12 deficiency.
Avatar n tn I, too, was only born with one thyroid lobe, the left is completely missing (and yes, it is rare. I've read that only 1/2 of 1% of the population has this condition). The right one is enlarged, with a goiter, but the ENT and Rheumotologist are keeping an eye on it. I've done thyroid imaging and blood tests to ensure it is functioning properly, and there are no "hot" spots on it, and the blood tests indicate that there is no hypo/hyper thyrodism.
