Avatar m tn we are from india ,hiv elisa test on 84 th day showing 0.6 and 0.7 negative non reactive , pl Dr tell me is it conclusive This discussion is related to ELISA accuracy - Your perspective.
Avatar m tn HIV test is required ONLY IF you've had UNPROTECTED vaginal/anal sex or shared needles for injecting IV drugs with an HIV positive person or someone of an unknown status. If you've had any of the exposures I've described above, then retest at 3 months to receive a conclusive and reliable negative result. Having a 6 week negative test results, it is unlikely it will change by the 3 months mark. So the odds are highly in your favor.
Avatar m tn hi all, i had unprotected vaginal sex with lady unknown HIV status , after 20 days i took screening test using ELISA methode 4th generation the result is negative , and then on 35 days i took same test but the lab technician told me that he only detect antibody because P24 antigen detected on few weeks after exposure , meaning on 2nd test ( 35 days ) only antibody test but using ELISA 4th gen. any expert can explain how the accurate my test?
Avatar m tn 3rd generation HIV tests will give greater than 99% accuracy at 6 weeks. You do not need to test for HIV or any of the other diseases again in relation to this episode.
Avatar m tn If oral antibody rapid testing is as sensitive/ accurate as blood antibody test (ELISA) - why do people go for latter to confirm ? I do know that if any of these turn out positive, a WB is done for further confirmation.
Avatar m tn After around 2 years day before yesterday i went for Anti HIV (BY ELISA) testing which claimed to detect both for HIV p24 Antigen and HIV1/2 Antibodies . Result shown is 0.08 (<1.0,Nnon-reactive.) for HIV I also undergone test for HBSAG. That also by Australia Antigen. that also Non reactive. Value-0.01 (Non Reactive <0.05). Now I want to confirm 1) wheather this is confirmative result? 2)How much I can trust on accuracy of ELISA for HIV? 3) Do I need other type of testing?
Avatar m tn cmia reported to be positive in that report ELISA is negative. Respectively on 8 March, 30 March and 3 may go on a test center for HIV, the test is ELISA HIV1 2 (Ag AB), report the result is negative. I would like to ask the doctor I can exclude the?? and test center staff told me that CMIA inspection accuracy than ELISA high.
Avatar m tn i mean each year one p24 test and all of the was negetive. is it reliable or I should have hiv elisa test?
Avatar n tn can someone please help me and tell me that in percentage what will be the accuracy in 50 days even though 3 months test is conclusive and also what is the accuracy of ELISA test for which you get result in 6-7 hours, in percentage how many times does it happen that it can give a false result...!! thank you!!
Avatar m tn I knew little about the various testing methods at the time I took my test, so the only reason the WB test was ordered without an ELISA was because I specifically asked my GP for it. Having actually done some research since, I understand that WB tests are almost always used as confirmatory tests following a positive ELISA. Regardless, I was wondering if I could consider this test definitive, as it was taken 8 weeks following my potential exposure.
Avatar m tn The ELISA test was conclusive. You never mentioned that you had an ELISA test.
Avatar f tn Hello again. I recently tested HIV 4th generation elisa test at 82 days after low risk exposure (received oral sex mutual masturbation afraid of his pre cum entering my urethra i did not clean after). It came up negative. Do i need retesting? Thanks in advance please help.
Avatar f tn Any HIV test is conclusive at 3 months whether it's a lab or rapid test. Doesn't matter what kind or type of test. You need to deal with your anxiety and stop searching and googling. You don't have HIV.
Avatar m tn I was unconvincing and ask her to get a test at 12 weeks and it was NEGATIVE (not sure she is lying and only told Anti-HIV test).I get myself a blood test in the lab at (9,11,14 weeks) post exposure its HIV 1/2 Elisa ( not sure what generation) and all came back NEGATIVE.I'm still not sure i can put all this behind me because some information site required 6 month follow-up test for high risk case.Do i still have to wait 6 month to be conclusive or put my anxiety to rest?
Avatar f tn I was penetrated for about 10 sec and quickly stopped. I had an Elisa at 31/2 weeks and a rapid blood test at 5 1/2 weeks both were neg. I explained my exposure to the counselor and asked should I be retested, he thought I was ok and said I could retest if I wanted too but that my negative status was a good indication of where I stand.
Avatar n tn Your test was conclusive.
