Common Questions and Answers about Elidel cream coupon

elidel

Avatar n tn Hello, You should use Elidel cream for as long as your dermatologist prescribes.I have mentioned earlier that long term use has serious side effects. Moreover, regarding the rashes on the forehead in case of your daughter, it can be due to eczema and senorrheic dermatitis. Steroids are prescribed usually in eczema. I would suggest you to consult a dermatologist and get it examined. No use continuing with long term steroid use in children. Hope it helps.Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I’ve been using Elidel Cream for several months on my face. I have been diagnosed with Rosacea and Seborrheic Dermatitis. I am concerned about using this cream long term. I have been trying to wean myself from the cream. Using ever other day and then every 2-3 days. I haven’t used the cream for 5-6 days and today my face is extremely red and bumpy. This is the worse it has ever looked. Is there a way to get off of Elidel and not have this redness.
Avatar m tn It seems as though my condition has improved somewhat, but not completely and I am wondering whether or not I should try the Elidel now since I want to get this resolved faster! So I want to know if Elidel is really safe for the penis skin, since on the instructions it says not to get in eyes, vagina, mouth or rectum. Okay, so what happens if some gets down into my urethra since the area I am treating is right on my meatus (skin at pee-hole opening)?
Avatar m tn I was left with skin rashes too (eczema) but the doc gave me a topical cream which sort of helps.......I dont know about elidel but I would sure try and find out so I'm bumping this back to the top in case somebody else knows.
Avatar n tn A couple years ago a dermatologist prescribed Elidel and gave me a sample. I used the sample and it worked pretty well - the only thing that has worked. However I did not go and get the prescription because I did some research on Elidel and found that it was related to some cases of cancer. I would really like to use it, or an alternative, but I am worried about the risk of cancer directly related to Elidel.
Avatar m tn • Continuous long-term use of topical calcineurin inhibitors, including ELIDEL Cream, in any age group should be avoided, and application limited to areas of involvement with atopic dermatitis. Also limit your exposure to sunlight.
Avatar n tn First of all that is not a topical treatment! I'm talking about an ointment or cream that helps reverse the effects of atrophy caused by the use of a potent steroid cream. I used Diprosone cream for 5 days(twice daily) & then a year later after minimal recovery I used Elidel (a non-steroid cream) for about 12 days(twice daily) both on the same spot on my penis glands! So what kind of damage would this have likely done & what can I use to help the skin return to normal again?
Avatar m tn and after one week I noticed another inflammation and scaly area appeared around my mouth and then i went to another doctor and he prescribed an Elidel cream and to stop using the hydrocort cream but he didn't told me if i still need to put the cream on my cheeks too or as i noticed blood veins appeared on it and pale red dots and still large pores but with no pain as the doctor is at London now so i need your help can i use elidel even if this area is not have an eczema ?
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with atopic dermatitis by a dermatologist and precribed Elidel or (pimecrolimus cream). I was told that Elidel does not have the side effects associated with topical steroid creams such as skin thinning and discoloration. This was necessary since the area affected is right on the skin around the meatus of my penis. Anyways, I used the Elidel for almost 12 days (twice a day) without any significant results, so I stopped.
Avatar n tn When using Elidel, a TCI, commonly used to treat eczema or dermatitis; how long should it take (using twice a day) to start seeing results? I used this for 12 consecutive days with no improvement in my skin discoloration or tenderness, & I was using it on naturally thin skin to treat what I thought was dermatitis. I have heard that it takes longer for Elidel to take effect compared to a low strength steroid cream, but exactly how long should you use it for, without noticing any improvement?
Avatar n tn Elidel is very useful in treating mild to moderate eczema in immunocompromised individuals who do not respond to conventional therapy. Elidel cream does not cause skin thinning. It is suggested to consult your dermatologist before using it. I sincerely hope it helps. Best luck and kind regards!

Avatar m tn Hello, Epiceram is a topical non-steroidal skin cream which is designed to treat atopic dermatitis, a type of eczema. Elidel (pimecrolimus) is an immunosuppressant. It works by decreasing your body's immune system to help slow down the growth of atopic dermatitis (eczema) on your skin. It is used when all other methods are ineffective. You should use it only when you are not benefitting from epiceram.
Avatar n tn I have to keep a cream on the sore areas all the time because if the area dries out the pain is terrible. Do you think a cream like Elidel would work? Do you have any suggestions to help me? What can I do to Help this at home? What is the best treatment for vaginal eczema? please help..
Avatar f tn It’s been more than 10 days I’ve been using this cream(twice a day) and it doesn’t seem to help(Desonide or Elidel helped in lesser time). So I wanted to know if clotrimazole 1% really helps treat seboherric dermatitis?

Avatar n tn I had used Elidel or "Pimecrolimus cream" for about 12 days (twice a day) as prescribed by a local dermatologist for dermatitis on an area of my body with naturally thin skin. After nearly two weeks use I saw no improvement, yet my condition did not seem to worsen either. Therefore, I stopped using and met with my doctor; who didn't seem concerned about it and basically said it wouldn't have done any harm.
Avatar n tn Treatment is by topical steroids or oral therapy of corticosteroids in severe cases. Topical creams like tacrolimus ointment (Protopic) and pimecrolimus cream (Elidel) are also useful. If still the symptoms do not improve then please get a clinical examination done by a dermatologist. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar f tn I am currently using Elidel (pimecrolimus) 1%. This is an immunosupressant cream...could this cause my immune system to be supressed and not produce the HIV anti-bodies? I have been using this for well over 3 months.
Avatar n tn Elidel is NOT a steroid cream, it is a skin-selective inflammatory cytokine inhibitor, therefore it does not cause any skin atrophy. However, how safe is it to use on the head of the penis for a couple weeks on normal skin? On the instructions it says for short-term use only, yet does not define what that would be! What time frame (in exact number of consecutive days) using twice daily, can Elidel be safely used on the penis skin without likely causing any side effects? 10 days? 2 weeks?
Avatar m tn My question here is that 1) I don’t know if I have skin cancer, because of the over use of elidel. Very recently I also found out that elidel should not be used for more than a month or so, because of the chances of skin cancer. I am using it for more than a year now. I might have used around 50 to 60 times so far. I always have had this anal problem and the scalp problem, from almost ten years now. I don’t know about the other medicines over usage, the doctor never told me.
Avatar f tn I went for a facial and got a bit of a rash , which I self treated with betaderm (cortisone) big mistake . I was diagnosed with perioral dermatitis and put on Apprilon (40mg of doxy) , metronizole cream, elidel and azelic acid . My face is covered in what looks like comeodones it almost looks fungal. All over , it’s also appearing sporadically on my chest .
Avatar f tn Dermatologist and GP think vitiligo but no visible improvement from prednizone 50 mg, betamethasone dipropionate .05% topical, elidel pimecromlimus cream 1%. Biopsy of skin on finger stated “a normal density of epidermal melanocyte which argues against vitiligo. No fungal, organism or increased much were found. Pityriasis alba could still be considered, but clinical correlation is needed”.
Avatar m tn Sometimes it may be permanent and is very difficult to treat but sometimes it goes away on its own after exposure to the sun. Creams like Elidel cream or Protropic can be used on these hypopigmented areas but at such a young age it is not advisable to use them . If the symptoms still persist then you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).
Avatar f tn When she was 3 1/4 yrs (it was winter) her skin became very itchy and looked like prickly heat and none of the soothing cream helped - the doctor prescribed Elidel - it healed the flare ups but I had to use elidel everyday which we did not prefer. We tried homeopathy - her skin did improve - her flare ups reduced - her skin became soft - but did not heal competely - but again when she was 4 1/2 her skin was very itchy especially during the nights though the skin was soft.
Avatar m tn It was all over my body including my penis. I was prescribed Elidel and after using it it went away. But this winter i had a little eczema come back but not near as worse as last year.... but there was red rashes of dry skin on my penis and it wouldnt ever go away... and i didnt have elidel. Now it is pretty much gone but there is a strange whitish scaly look right where the head of my penis starts from the shaft. Any idea if this is eczema or should i be concerned of something else?
Avatar m tn Although this type of skin problem is very difficult to treat, but you can try Elidel cream or Protropic ointment on these hypopigmented areas. But use them after a dermatologist’s guidance. If the symptoms still persist then you can talk to your dermatologist about laser-assisted chemabrasion(LACA).It has provided excellent results in such hypopigmentation. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing. Kind regards.
