I guess I should have done a little more research on BRAIN ZAPS and eye ball sensations too... this guy on yahoo answers nailed it.... Heres what he said on yahoo answers on "what do brain zaps feel like?" "I had brain zaps for 6 months after stopping effexor (antidepressent). Drove me mad - was almost painful at times cause the more i moved my "eyeballs" - looking around - the worse the brain zaps. Sometimes I still get them when I am really worn out.

i have been on effexor xr for 10 yrs as a combination med to help treat my essential tremors as well as pts I am on day 3 of cold turkey due to a recent move and now no ins. my primary refuses to call in a script even after i asked him 5 yrs ago to take me off this drug.

I posted all of that yesterday in Yahoo Answers. Last nite when I got home, I took an Effexor (I still have 4 left). Today, I feel as equally bad as I've been feeling (panicky, anxious, fluttering stomach, fast heartbeat, etc)...I can feel panic attacks coming on, but it is like the Effexor is blocking them from FULLY coming. New symptoms today, my hands have not stopped shaking since I woke up this morning..even during the few times I have felt calm today.

My daughter is taking 225 mg of effexor xr for the last 8 months. Before that, she was taking 150 mg for 5 years. She is 24. She tried to quit a year ago, when taking 150 mg, but the side effects terrified her and she is now in denial and would rather succumb to taking this horrid drug for the rest of her life. She has given up. This is a tragedy, and one that the drug company needs to address. A class action law suit is fine, but that does not solve the problem of getting off of this drug.

t start till June I can go to class next quarter Yahoo. Even if USC changes my mind about who does it I can still push it off till summer. I can't stay home I just can't.

I walked to the library without stopping and back (with a bathroom break and grabbed a couple of books inbetween) with the walker. I wasn't able to do it without stopping a lot 2 weeks ago. Yahoo. Oh and I started PT exercises on Thursday. It went well. I'm still working on getting off the walker.

So I usually ask yahoo answers for help...which this time I was not thankful for. I needed help with this one question that I CAN'T find in my textbook. I got to responses saying I was lying, that I won't succeed in life, that I'm pathetic for asking a homework question like this. I feel terrible and now can't even study because of what they said...can someone just...idk cheer me up? I try so hard in college and now I'm so stressed with finals I can't take it anymore.

People online have said it can cause brain damage but is this only possible through intentional huffing? People on yahoo answers were apparently trolling me and telling me i had damaged myself, which i think is horrible since i'm suffering from severe anxiety.

Meds I am on are.. effexor( have been on it for 2.5 years), a baby aspirin daily(again, been on it for 2.5 years), lovonox (been on it for a little over a month), and a prenatal vitamin with stool softener. If anyone can offer advice, support, anything it would be greatly appreciated!

any thoghts on effexor?

I was wondering if a doctor could comment on the causes of Post SSRI Sexual Dysfunction (PSSD) and possible treatments. I am a member of the yahoo group but no one seems to really know of an effective treatment or really even the cause. I am fully convinced this is a real condition, I never once in my life even at the peak of my depression had sexual dysfunction problems, they started the day I took effexor and later zoloft.

Best answer is very useful if you have a bunch of kids participating, like with Yahoo Answers - but even then they'll just rate the ones they find funny.

I have been blessedly symptom-free since 1994. I just had to get back on Effexor, and as of four days ago my stomach is such a mess. In trying to figure out how to describe it, I realized I'm having the exact same symptoms I had back then. The worst is constantly belching what tastes like rotten eggs. I have so much gas and bloating it's like there's no room in my stomach for food because of all the gas. Effexor has never done this to me before.

Hello MH family. I tried posting this in the Pain Management forum. No one answered. Not too many people over there. I thought I would see if someone here may have some insight into an ongoing problem a friend of mine is having. She's 40 yrs old, suffers from migraines, takes Effexor for depression and thinks she may have fibromyalgia.

What is the reason for having to take your anti depressant the same time everyday? Is it just so you remember? I found if i take my effexor xr and diff times it doesnt make me as tired, but I dont know if it loses its effectiveness, it's extended release so I dont know if it matters.....Any ideas??

im just worried because i read on yahoo answers it is possible if the blood on ciggratte contacts the lips which has a cut or sore?

I have been off effexor for 2.5 weeks, my sleeping patterns are horrible. I go to sleep 9 or 10 pm and wake up between 1-230 am. Does anyone know if this is a withdrawal symtom if so how long does it take to get back to normal. I also notive sex drive is slowloy coming back and I also notice that I'm not snacking at all and \i'm loosing weight. Does exfessor have anything to do with weight gain.

I bet it's got something to do with our post count in here.

m just wondering if I should stop taking the Effexor right off and start the Celexa or somehow wean myself off of the Effexor first?
