effexor

Avatar f tn I'm thinking of trying Zoloft for my gad/pd. No real depression, just anxiety. I've been on Effexor for about 1 month and it doesn't seem to be working. It also gives me tremors and night sweats. I was on Lexapro for many years then it pooped out. I did very well on Lexapro. My anxiety has been a daily battle for the past few months. I exercise, do yoga, go to therapy, on meds to no avail. Has anyone had success on Zoloft for severe anxiety? What about side effects?
Avatar f tn m curious as to why so many people are against the Mayo Clinic? I myself am a patient there currently undergoing diagnostics, though I received a clinical MS diagnosis upon first appointment in November, at this time my other cranial issues and viral issues are also being examined. My Neuro there was able to detect issues in one visit that other facilities could not in several other states- including Stanford Over the course off seven years.
Avatar n tn I'm am MS patient on venlafaxine (Effexor) and at least in Europe, there is no generic available, but loads in the States. https://en.wikipedia.
Avatar f tn How long does it usually take to get off Effexor...please answer the question!
Avatar m tn I am currently on Effexor XR 150MG twice a day. I also sometimes have to use Clonaxepam 1/2 mg before bedtime in order to try and get to sleep. Also Aprazolam once a day as needed. The issue is I was just laid off and I need to fine a generic alternaive to Effexor XR the current generic for it it still too expensive for my budget. I there anything in the SSRI class that you would recommened that i can start transition to?
Avatar m tn my doc has me on effexor 150mg and is tapering me off it to 102.5 one week then to 75 next week then 150mg wellbutrin +37.
Avatar n tn I was on Effexor a few years ago and had a horrid time getting off. Now I am on Pristiq and I hope that when I eventually quit it won't be as bad. Pristiq has been working for me just as well as the Effexor did, if that is any help to you. I think my depression stems from physical issues, so drugs can only do so much for me, but it does take away the lows I tend to feel. Good luck with it.
Avatar n tn Are there any anti-depressants safe - or at least pose less risk - to a patient with hepatitus C? Thanks Bookend.
Avatar f tn Has anyone just stayed on klonopin forever. I took it with effexor xr five years ago. When i quit the effexor I remained on the klonopin to keep the panic attacks under controll. My doctor moved and I am having another bout with the anxiety, nervousness and panic attacks. My new doctor hates benzos and wants me to wean off. I think this is a bad time to do that. Klonopin is the only thing besides ativan that ever gave relief. it also takes care of the insomnia associated with the ssri's.
Avatar n tn I don't know your lab levels, but you are obviously hypo. I don't know why she lowered your Synthroid instead of keeping you on the higher Synthroid and gradually introducing Cytomel. My doc didn't lower my Synthroid. He started me on a low dose Cytomel, and if I need more, he will eventually raise my Cytomel. The key to getting better is to know your lab levels and become a proactive, informed patient.
Avatar m tn My doc recently started me on Effexor ive been on it 3 days How long does it take to start feeling the good effect from this med?
Avatar f tn I think the answer is not to start the Lexapro -- you were right to wait until you stop the Effexor completely and successfully before you do that, in my opinion. Effexor is notoriously difficult to stop taking, so taking it as slowly as you need to is the way to go. Lexapro is a completely different drug and you won't even know if it's going to work or not until you're completely off Effexor and it won't stop Effexor withdrawals.
1081992 tn?1389903637 from doing a websearch, it seems that the vast majority* of free MRI reviews are only for the spine. Why is that? Is it because spine MRIs are very quick and easy to read? If that is true, then why is that true? Or if instead this is somehow only about the economics of marketing for new patients, then why is that true for spine patients only? Any speculations? Also, are spine docs now using Artificial Intelligence to read spine MRIs?
Avatar f tn I try to handle theanxiety alone but sometimes its overwhelming..Wouldanyone who has been on this please give me your reviews on it..Also what can I dobesides meds to relieve my anxiety?
3038261 tn?1340919409 I recently stopped taking venaflaxine ("Effexor") because it has been making my mania symptoms worse. As part of the withdrawal, I've been experiencing something I've come to find is known as "brain shivers". I was wondering if anyone has experienced this before, and if so, has any advice on how to cope.
457951 tn?1206218459 Started taking effexor 75 mg about a month ago. Havent had any bad side effects, but dont think they are working too well either. Have heard real good things and real bad things about this drug. Any relevant experiences are greatly appreciated! Peace be with all.
Avatar f tn I am looking for a top notch cataract surgeon. So far I have relied on patient reviews, google and yelp reviews but none seem to match. If by chance someone knows of a surgeon, please reply to this request. Thank you so much - I have postponed surgery because of extreme fear - but if I had a good surgeon I would proceed.
Avatar f tn The last time was 3 years ago when my mother passed away. It was effexor. My doctor weaned me off about 10 months ago. Now because of sudden severe panic attacks and anxiety i have been prescribed prozac and have been on that for 4 days now. Because the antidepressants were in my system previously will that mean the prozac will act faster?
492527 tn?1212175672 What does everyone think about Effexor. I have been suffering from depression and anxiety. I have no energy at all. I have been taking zoloft for 2 weeks but it is making me tired and haven't seen any change at all. I was thinking about switching to effexor xr. Is this a good choice.
Avatar f tn o.k. I've been on Effexor 150mg for the past 6 years. Since I'm in a good stable place in my life right now I decided to stop taking it. Well...the real reason is because I'm trying to get pregnant and we all know what the side effect of Effexor has on an unborn child...possible cleft lip and heart defects. Also the I thought the timing to stop taking Effexor was great because I'm on my summer vacation for 2 months only going back to teaching in September. Well..
Avatar n tn Hi Grandma 1964, I’m surprised that the estrogen has not helped you with the hot flashes after all this time. It seems that helping hot flashes is the one thing that almost everyone agrees estrogen does do well. What particular medication are you taking? I took Premarin for four months last year, and while it did help with the flashes and night sweats, it did little to help with my anxiety, stress and mood swings. If anything, it seemed to make things worse.
Avatar n tn Does Effexor xr promote weight gain or loss? Also, it is sooooooooo expensive, is there an alternative?
Avatar n tn Sounds like a plan. You and your doctor may have to work on finding the best balance of medication. Try to be patient, but don't hesitate to let your doctor know if you have any concerns.
Avatar n tn ve taken Celexa for years, it take up to 6 to 8 weeks for the full affect to kick in. It sounds to me like it is withdrawal from the Effexor. Be patient...the Celexa will kick in and it is very good for Anxiety.
