When I was taking the triptan Axert, and I was on a different antidepressant, Effexor... I once got very sick and my doctor thought it might have been Seretonin Syndrome and changed my triptan to Zomig (Axert only comes in a very high dose). I never had any problems with the Zomig, and I took it while I was on the Effexor for a very long time.

I personally use Zomig Nasal Spray and find it works extremely well. I also have found great success with Maxalt-MLTs. Statistically, compared to the other triptans, Imitrex Injection, Zomig Nasal Spray and Maxalt-MLTs have the highest success rates for total pain relief in the shortest amount of time.

Her dose of Effexor may need to be tweaked...is it the back pain that's causing her distress at this point? How long has she had that? Does she believe she has fibro? It's a pretty complicated illness...poor thing. Does she take good care of herself for the most part?

I went to the neurologist yesterdayand they have now ordered and MRI brain scan set for 3:30 this afternoon. They also gave me nortryptaline and maxalt to take instead of the fioricet that I've been taking. The maxalt worked right away, but I did wake up later on last night with a headache again. If your Doctor is aware of the potential side effects of Tramadol and Maxalt and you are being closely monitored, then I apologize for alarming you. My friend had called me and I told her that I was too sick to talk and that I had run out of my Maxalt. My friend is a life saver! I have been taking Effexor XR 450mg and Buproprion 450mg for a couple of years. I'm weaning off the Effexor, going onto Pristiq and continuing the Buproprion.

I switched from effexor to wellbutrin. I had to be on both medications at the same time for a long time because of the effexor withdrawal... it was so hard to come off the effexor, I was at the lowest dose for a very long time, 25mg, because I couldn't get off of it the withdrawal symptoms were too bad for me.

I take Effexor for depression and forgot to bring it with me on a 3 day getaway with my 2 young boys. My girlfriend who was also there offered me a Xanax for the 8 hr. drive home just in case I lose it (my mind that is). I only took half and it seemed to work great. The drive was a breeze. Today however, I took my usual dosage of Effexor and now I'm feeling extremely detached. Like I just don't care about anything that is happening - good or bad.

My doctor has suggested that I come off effexor (which i have been on for over 2 years) and start taking Wellbutrin XL. I was to take both of them for 1 week and then stop the effexor and take Wellbutrin only. I have not been feeling very good very tense, anxious, lightheaded and chest pains.
