effexor and joint pain

so i tryed to manage the pain for as long as i could and also left my job due to depression and anxiety because of pain and spasm and couldnt hold my neck properly and felf very conscouse of this. ive had mri scans done and i have minor protrusion in 5 discs in neck and also one facet joint is wearing down and the curve on my neck has changed also. so i was told by consultant there was nothing i could do with my neck.

I have been on lexapro since January of last year, but for the past 2-3 months i have been experiencing joint pain in my fingers and sometimes a weakness in my ( i quess muscles) in my arms and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing these symptoms from taking anti anxiety medications or am i just starting with arthistis!

This drug never helped me just gave me a load more issues to deal with severe joint pain feeling of unreality fatigue serious weight gain the panic disorder that they put me on this drug for was still there. I could add to the list. I now feel even stonger about taking medications especially after this withdrawel because what has it done to my body.

I developed pain, burning and numbness in both feet, but the right foot is far more severe. My doctors are taking me off amitriptyline and Effexor to start Cymbalta. The pain management specialist wants me to stop taking lorazepam, but is is the only thing that seems to help when the pain is unbearable. I have several herniated lumbar discs but the pain doc thought it was CRPS, but has since decided that is not the cause of my pain. Has anyone dealt with this type of pain?

I was back on Effexor for about a month after weaning off it - only taking 25 mg. The muscle pain and cramps in my legs started after about 3 weeks, so I stopped taking the effexor - it has been 10 days - 2 weeks and legs are still bothering me. Any experience with similar situation?

m on effexor as another pain med. Is all pain and stuff causing this or am I depressed and need to talk to Dr. Is being depressed causing more pain or pain causing depression? I'm so frustrated at all this. Than my body just reaction is making me sick with all kinds of crap. What do u guys think?

Taking Effexor with Wellbutrin is not any more risky of getting seizures than wellbutrin alone. There are studies out that show there is an improvement when patients take Effexor with Wellbutrin together.

would not take lexapro and effexor together. for effexor withdrawal i take omega3 fish oil caps twice a day//benadryl as needed for dizzyness\\ b12 sublingualtwice a day\\st. johns wort twice a day// vitamin d3 twice a day ---ibuprofen(motrin) as needed for muscle pain. as far as i am concerned, i will never take a prescription rx. for anxiety and depression again. i also have ptsd. i am sticking to st. johns wort and omega 3 fish oil caps. both will treat depression.

I have been smoking marijuana regularly (daily) for about 5 years now, and it helps me with my lower back pain that I get from an injury that left me with 4 herniated discs, on top of helping with my depression. Obviously it is not helping enough with the depression to be enough, which is why I went to see my psychiatrist. My main concern is with the interaction that taking the Effexor could have with the marijuana.

m experiencing from the RA and FMS with Provigil (for fatigue) and Effexor XR (for pain). What do you all think?

I tried effexor once and it severely made my anxiety worse.I would be shaking and unable to relax.I now take valium which has been the only thing that has helped. Dimi.

Do you think the PN was always this bad and reducing the Effexor is allowing the pain and numbness to come through, or do you think the additional issues are side-effects of reducing the Effexor?

So i came off the effexor and my tsh went down making me hyper and i tested at .25 tsh. Then i wrnt back on th effexor and my tsh would go back up and i wouldnt be hyper anymore. Then thw doctor lowered my dose because of the .25 tsh result . This is of course all conjecture I dont know hat to do . I guess wait 6 weeks for latest labs.

I have been taking Celebrex for years .I have a bipolar disorder this is the only thing that fixes this disorder. but my burning and stabbing in my feet, I don't have sugar. I have a lot of pain I had 2 knee joint and 2 shoulder joint replacements and many more surgery's Elmer nerve surgerys..

Who knows about this stuff? Pain managers? I am appalled at how doctors throw drugs at us and say get better, and when we don't, they throw more and don't seem to want to hear it when we complain. Aren't there any antidepressants/anti-anxiety drugs that are safe non-stimulants? I've tried them all, starting with Paxil and Prozac, but something changed after I had babies and they are overstimulating or they take away my sexuality.

I am 52,have not had a period in 2 years.I recently went to my doctor to tell him that my body was very sore,I have tendonitis in my elbow,I had bursitis in my hip which I took a shot of cortoisone for that went away for about one year now it is starting to hurt again,I then thought that I should exercise more so I got on the treadmill and after two weeks I pulled my hamstring.Honestly my body feels like it's65 years old.

m not sure Cymbalta is better for pain control than Effexor anyway. Cymbalta is the same class of medication and got certified by FDA for pain control to keep its patent alive longer, but it doesn't treat the source of pain, it just makes people not care as much. I believe the successor drug to Effexor, Pristiq, has also gotten certified for this purpose, so again I'm guessing that Effexor may be just as effective at controlling pain.

My doctor prescribed Nexium 40 mg. I had an Endoscopy and an abdominal CT with barium. After 6 months the pain returned and my primary care doctor added 150 mg of Zantac twice per day. I finally broke down and went back to the Gastro doctor and he canceled the Zantac and added 37.5 mg of Effexor XR. I cannot understand the reasoning behind this prescription. He stated that the Effexor will help my cramping and spasming intestinal issues. Is this prescription something that is routine?

I stopped effexor 75 cold turkey and got very severe leg pains and muscle spasms. After 6 days, I restarted at 37.5 - the dose I had been taking customarily for years. It has been about 10 days and I still have the muscle spasms. I do not know what to do about this. Thank you.

How risky is it to take Effexor XR and Ultram together? My pharmacist alerted me to the fact that it was risky. I have just been diagnosed with Multi Level Degenerative Disc Hypertrophy and am having a difficult time with managing my pain, but don't want to take the Ultram if it's dangerous. What would you recommend for treating pain while taking Effexor XR? Thanks so much.

As a health care professional I wish I had been better informed. Started on Effexor 7 years ago when my husband was diagnosed with leukemia and remianed on it after he passed after a long 4 year battle. sions than good.

I have been on it for two weeks now and have been dealing with feeling sad and angry and aches like ( fibro pain)and feeling paranoid, like my perception of what people are thinking, and I have no tolerance for anything. I feel like I am mad at the world. So take my advice, do not allow them to give you the generic brand. Especially because you are already taking the brand name. DO Not switch over.

YES,YES tramadol is very addicting and difficult to stop because of the antidepressant action similar to effexor.Even if most of the literature and medical people say it is a mild opiate....it still is very addictive and builds a tolerance quickly.Some people have withdrawals even at recommended doses in as little as a few weeks.
