Common Questions and Answers about Eczema treatment products

eczema

Avatar n tn t had a flare up in months - however, when we stopped using it for a few weeks (Aveeno took it off the market temporarily when they changed the packaging), her eczema came back and none of the other products (including Mustela) did anything. I was so relived when the Aveeno came back on the market I bought 4 tubes right away. I also give her an Aveeno oatmeal bath once a week. Hopefully this can help you as well. I can totally empathize with your frustration!
Avatar f tn My son had it at well.
Avatar f tn Any good treatment for eczema? 20wks today. Really suffering a lot. Tried Alpha Keri and QV intensive care but its not working. Help please....
Avatar f tn The goals for the treatment of eczema include prevention of itching, inflammation, and worsening of the condition. It is good that you were able to find a product that is best working for you. However, with eczema, complications such as secondary bacterial infection may also occur. If the pimples are not healing despite the medications, you may need to have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. If there is infection, antibiotics may be indicated. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar f tn What maight be the cause and how we could be treating for existing eczema. we are under homeoepathy and medical treatment now.
Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.

1014914 tn?1251084646 In addition to the steroid treatments, use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. A combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups is helpful in long cases. I hope it helps.Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn I know this misery well. Once I went on my first elimination diet for the digestive issues, that's when I discovered the true source of my misery: GLUTEN and DAIRY. The two go hand-in-hand. Look up key words like "eczema diet" "what not to eat with eczema". Conventional doctors usually miss this. I stumbled upon it myself when looking into my other health issues.
Avatar n tn The first step should be to speak with your physician to determine if he/she has exhausted all diagnosis/treatment efforts and if Eczema is the correct diagnosis. If that is the case then you and your doctor should consider consultation with a Dermatologist, ideally one with an avid interest in this disease, at the nearest University Medical Center.
Avatar m tn It is usually seen in uncircumcised men due to poor hygiene. Other causes are dermatitis, allergies, infection such as candida, gonorrhea etc, eczema. Treatment depends upon the cause of the rash, antibacterial or antifungal .ointments can be prescribed by the doctor. It is important to keep the area clean and also to avoid strong soaps or chemicals which can cause a skin reaction. It is always better to see your doctor who can diagnose and prescribe appropriate treatment for you.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be dyshidrotic eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used, whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid.
Avatar m tn I've been diagnosed with eczema on the underside of my penis. 1% hydrocortisone seems to make it worse. What would be an alternative, milder treatment?
Avatar f tn Does this sound like eczema? Or could this be from new skin care products or more face washing in general even though I'm not using product on those areas? I generally have pretty oily skin, so dry patches are very weird for me.
Avatar f tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes. This is probably the reason that the calendula oil is not working now. Topical (applied to the skin) medication like mild steroids(hydrocortisone)to higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide) is frequently prescribed.
Avatar f tn com/products/eczema-therapy-itch-relief-balm You can buy it online or in a lot of retailers and drug stores. The article has a lot of options for treatment though. Check it out. But for me, lightly dabbing a towel to the area after a shower and applying the balm prevents it from happening. Hope that helps!

803552 tn?1237924431 Hi. For the last 6 months I have had a rash on both arms. It is lots of red dots that are very slightly raised and they don't itch. They are very unsightly. I went to my dr who said it was eczema and prescribed Aqueous cream but I don't think it is eczema and the Aqueous cream hasn't helped at all. Any ideas?
