Avatar m tn The pH will be neutralized. It is actually a treatment they do use for eczema. But, since you have psoriasis you should probably ask you doc first. You truly won't get a "chemical burn " from it, LOL. Anyway, I hope this helps.
Avatar m tn Had gluten intolerance diagnosed about six weeks ago, and before that had candida for almost eight years and presumably still have. About eight weeks ago eczema started to spread, first on my chest, then in the following weeks to my arms, neck and legs and lastly to my back. It has just been getting worse and worse, right up to now. On hearing of the gluten intolerance I immediately ceased (6 wks ago) eating all foodstuffs with gluten, wheat, rye, barley, oats, etc., etc.
87972 tn?1322661239 s too far for typical treatment care but sometimes the docs around here have ties to Mayo and use consults with the Mayo docs to help in their treatment of local patients. A friend of mind went through treatment with the docs at Gundersen Clinic in LaCrosse...about 90 miles from Milwaukee. The Gundersen docs did consult with Mayo during her treatment.

Avatar f tn I think one of the main issues some people have with Mayo is its conservative approach to treatment. Mayo claims that in early MS with mild symptoms, no treatment is necessary. This flies in the face of what is generally agreed to by other MS facilities, that treating MS early provides patients with the best chance of slowing down the disease process, minimizing the number of releases in RRMS, and mitigating permanent neurological damage.
Avatar m tn In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed.

Avatar m tn Hello, Eczema is characterised by red, dry patches which are itchy. If the rash is non itchy then it can be pityriasis alba. Pityriasis alba is a common skin condition mostly occurring in children and usually seen as dry, fine-scaled, pale patches on the face. No treatment is required and the patches in time will settle in due course of time. The redness, scale and itch if present may be managed with simple emollients and sometimes hydrocortisone, a weak steroid, is also used.
