Hi to all..my mother has grade 2 stage 4 liver cancer. I don't know where to go for consultation. She is 70 years old. So thin because sometimes she doesn't want to eat anything. As per initial consultation, she has been advised that chemotherapy and surgery is out because of her age and her overall health. t see much improvement I took a friends advice to use a eczema cream called abido that claims to be a herbal cream (shea butter, sulphur, petroleum jelly and special herbs extracted from a plant found in Ghana). I was using the cream whereever I saw the dry patches, even on his face. I used it for 6-8 weeks almost daily. I stopped using the cream and was only using the Oilatum cream and the emollient. The eczema flared up all over his body, prickly rashes, really bad itchiness.
It is a very serious illness and unpleasant for your dog. And Prednisone treatment for 6 months is a long time. Prednisone is usually fine with no of very few side effects when given for a short course, But I guess your vet feels that this is the best treatment for your dog.
Can you ask your vet about supportive treatments to cope with any side effects?

What is the best treatment for vaginal Eczema. I have this for years now, it comes and goes. I use Calendula gel when I have symptoms, it seems to help but not completely. Is there something that I can use that is more effective. It is very uncomfortable. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.
It could be a type of eczema. Thats what usually appears on my middle finger before it turns into a dry flakey rash. Mine usually flares up if i over wash my hands, especially with hot water. Try a natural lotion or aveeno eczema, anything that has very little to no alcohol in it. What i've been using lately is just organic virgin coconut oil. it's only cleared up about 50% because i'm usually too busy to put it on.
