Avatar m tn Stay away from hot water, use Cetaphil to wash your hands and as moisturizer and wear cotton gloves underneath latex/rubber gloves. Avoid direct contact with chemicals. Fluocinonide (Vanos) works like a charm but it can only be used short-term. Only suggestions. Good luck.
Avatar n tn For a more intensive nighttime treatment, apply cream and then cover hands with gloves or socks. Your body heat helps the cream sink deeper into the skin. If the symptoms persist then get an evaluation done by a dermatologist. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.

1406413 tn?1281218666 m not sure if using wart remover is a good idea, as it may eat away at the skin. Also, I thought it might be a new reaction to the gloves I use at work. I wear the glove primarily on my right hand, as I am a sonographer, and this is the hand I scan with. Also, we are using a new scanning get at work, I thought it could be an allergic reaction, although I don't actually get the gel on my hands very often. What do you think?
Avatar m tn This rash has appeared on my hand and has been itchy. I am not sure if it is eczema or fungal. I have tried washing it with baking soda, used athlete foot cream and usually keep my hands moisturized using Cetaphil now in order to prevent it from spreading. Please take a look at it and recommend any root cause or treatment. One of my other fingers also had something similar with boils, but its fine now and just a bit harsher skin there.

Avatar n tn Hi, There is no definite cure for eczema but its recurrence may be easily controlled. Dishydrotic eczema is initiated by an itch scratch cycle that leads to eruption of lesions ( which usually contains a clear fluid ) and thus may eventually present with an excoriated or weeping lesion. Topical steroids of moderate and high potency may be used. Also avoiding direct contact with possible irritants may be able to help. Wearing protective hand gears while working will be beneficial.
Avatar f tn For a more intensive nighttime treatment, apply cream and then cover hands with gloves or socks. Your body heat helps the cream sink deeper into the skin. I would also suggest you to avoid washing hands with soap repeatedly and use gloves while doing any household work. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries. Warm regards.

Avatar n tn I get these tiny littl blisters on my hands and i used to think it was an allergic reaction to the chemicals. I wear gloves while using chemicals but it seems like it gets better when i take time off work. I recently was told(not by a professional) that it could be Anhidrotic Ecxyma if so, is there a cure that will allow me to continue to work as a hair stylist? I got a steroid shot that really helped but i dont think i could get those regularly, could I?
Avatar f tn Since you do have eczema (assuming you are the fingering partner here), perhaps you should use finger condoms, or gloves, when you finger your partner if your eczema is particularly bad, or if your partner has an outbreak. Again - it's not likely, but if you get broken skin, it increases the chances, and I'd avoid fingering her if she has an outbreak and you have a flare.
Avatar n tn hello again, sorry guys to bother you again, but on this website globalchange.com i read some things about eczema and hiv transmission and i got kinda worried again, they say : "People with eczema should be especially careful to wear gloves when likely to come into contact with secretions from someone with AIDS. The thousands of tiny cracks and itchy blisters are entry places for the virus. Cuts should be covered with a waterproof plaster.
780665 tn?1239026549 Hi, Contact dermatitis or allergic eczema due to plastic gloves may be due to polyvinyl chloride (PVC). To determine the exact component that is responsible for your symptoms, a Patch test is usually done. At this point, it is recommended that you refrain from using the plastic gloves to prevent further harm. It will also help if you t alk to your supervisor or safety committee about your condition with the plastic gloves. Take care and do keep us posted.
Avatar m tn We are very concerned about hand shedding infecting the children and me in daily activities (he has worn latex gloves at home, tripled his meds, used topical cream, and slept in a hotel this week to avoid family contact). Does he now need to wear protective gloves daily at home/office/outside to avoid shedding transmission? What about our newborn (due in May) we assume he MUST wear gloves for handling the baby. What about bathing the 5 yr.

Avatar f tn I have had eczema on and off since I was little but it was always the red itchy rash on the inside of my arms and legs. Now it has changed form and is on my hands as larger red dots that cause cracking of the skin and peeling as well as covering my feet in puss-filled itchy bumps. I went to the doctor for my hands and he gave me high powered topical cream and it was after using it for a couple days that the condition appeared on my feet.
Avatar m tn My dad has hiv and i applied ointment on his scabs (wearing gloves) but i have eczema on my hands so i dont know if gloves could of had a rip and he was in the hospital week before he passed but i dont remember having any other exposure risk but the gloves.
Avatar f tn Get some neosporin and at a pharmacy buy a box of white cotton gloves. Put the neosporin on and cover your hands with the gloves. Should clear up in a week then just moisturize! Like everytime you wash your hands... put lotion on. Do this whenever your hands feel even slightly dry. If the neosporin with cotton gloves doesnt work give your Dr a call cause then its likely something else like Eczema as the previous poster thought. Oh! Do the neosporin and gloves at night.
Avatar m tn Patches subside but reappear and now, new patches have started forming. The doctor suggested treatments for eczema-like conditions and she has been using aloe vera, cortisone cream, anti-bacterial cream, echinacea cream, none of which have worked. Would anyone have any insight as to what this could be? Could it be fungal? Thank you for reading.
569705 tn?1217017492 I have had it since Aug 2007. The dr. gave me pamphlets on hand eczema and the paper said that some eczema is associated with a fungus that also affects the soles of your feet. When I intially went to the dr my feet where already infected. The nails on my hands are also discolored and grow in what I can only describe has "ripples" and crumble off. I have been seeing this dr since January and am not happy with my progress.
Avatar n tn I went to a public STD clinic in NYC yesterday to get tested for HIV and the person who performed the test did not wear gloves. It was the Oraquick blood test where they ***** your finger. Thankfully she couldn't find the vein in my arms so she didn't draw any blood beforehand (which is apparently the procedure for administering these kind of tests). It was early in the morning and she had tested 3 people before me. I think I heard her wash her hands but who knows.
258127 tn?1223125240 Docs have told me it was eczema, and steroid creams are somewhat effective on it. It gets worse when I wear socks, and it gets pus filled nodules. It seems to be getting worse. Now I have the same rash on my pinky finger. nodules are smaller and they are leaving pin sized holes in the skin when they burst (which they always due, and seep a clearish liquid). Both rashes hurt more when they are wet (showering is a pain.
Avatar n tn Hello, The description of rashes sounds like dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Avatar n tn m also concerned that she came in contact with my eczema outbreak on my knuckle. Eczema is broken skin and could the virus have gotten in that way? I thought I would be rid of my worries but this testing experience may have made them worse.
