Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema — regardless of type — involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. Doing so tends to increase effectiveness and reduce side effects from medications.
Avatar n tn He has been finished with the treatment for 3 weeks and with the Elidil and dipping him in Aquaphor 3 times per day he has not had anymore than just a "dry patch" appearing here and there which I combat with the Elidil, Momentasone and Mimyx and the usual Aquaphor regimine. He also takes Atarax 2 to 3 tsps per day for his allergies. Is this wonderfully clear skin still associated with the low dose steroids? Could I be so lucky to be keeping it at bay after all of these years?

Treatment includes avoidance of the allergen, oral antihistaminics; topical application of corticosteroids. You may try application of calamine on the affected site. It may work by soothing the skin.

My sincere advice is to follow up the treatment that you have been prescribed by your dermatologists. Also keep your skin well moisturized as dryness of skin aggravates the condition.
Avatar n tn It will come and go for the rest of your life. Balantis is just eczema on the penis. Do you have eczema any where else? Cortisone cream should clear it up. Apply twice a day for a week. If you came in contact with something that you are allergic to it will clear up as long as you don't come in contact with the substance again.
Avatar f tn Its eczema or acne jus inform your dr and I'm sure you will get some cream for it. My daughter had eczema.
Avatar m tn for a long time i thought i had really stubborn eczema but until today i went to a dermatologist and i found out that it was ilven (inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal naevus) i want to know more about treatments for ilven. i herd about CO2 laser treatment and apparently it worked well to reduce itching...but is this long term? also about surgery where removing parts of the skin.
Avatar n tn Treatment usually consists of avoidance of allergen.Other treatment options include oral antihistaminics, topical or oral decongestants for rhinitis and nasal congestion; topical steroids for skin rashes and itching; oral steroids in more severe cases and bronchodilators in cases of difficulty in breathing and wheezing. These medications all help to relieve short term symptoms of allergic reactions. However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies.

Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed.

Avatar f tn What is the best treatment for vaginal Eczema. I have this for years now, it comes and goes. I use Calendula gel when I have symptoms, it seems to help but not completely. Is there something that I can use that is more effective. It is very uncomfortable. Burning sensation, etc. I had a biopsy done a few years ago and results came back (SPONGIOTIC DERMATITIS) which I been told is like ECZEMA. Can you please help or have any comments regarding this condition.
495402 tn?1220617403 Ther are treatments for eczema other than topical (ointment). Here is an article. http://www.medicinenet.com/eczema/page3.htm Are you sure it's eczema? Treatment also causes psoriasis. Get it properly diagnosed before you treat it..
Avatar m tn Is it contagious? After starting treatment for bacterial eczema how long will it take to clear up and will it keep reoccuring? Sorry about all the questions, but I really need good advice because this stuff is terrible! Thank you very much!
Avatar n tn Some went away and some became inflammed and infected. Since we started the treatment, for every one we blisterd two or three new ones appeared. He has had eczema when he was a baby but hasn't had any outbreaks of it since. Now that we started treatment on the molluscum his eczema is terrible. I took him to a new Dermatologist to get a second opinion. She wants to treat the severe eczema first then the molluscum. She wants to treat the molluscum with the topical ointment for genital warts.
