Common Questions and Answers about Eczema stress

eczema

Avatar f tn This was prior to getting my first eczema (in fact, I think the first trip outside of my house, other than for occasional walks for exercise, was after I got the eczema and went to the doctor). I am thoroughly convinced that stress and the fact that I was inside a lot probably did play a huge role in why I developed eczema and gut imbalances.
Avatar n tn i have eczema in my leg how can i reduce itch? can i use a treatment that contains acyclovir USP?
Avatar m tn it appears to be an "eczema" disease. i'v been experiencing it for 2 years and it spreaded from my middle, to the 2nd, 4th and now the 1st finger (only right hand). So the finger's skin made a cycle, where it peeled, and then it grows the newer one but its thick and theres no fingrprint in it, then it goes back to peeling and again. (But in a small area).
Avatar n tn I know for a fact that I have eczema, and I do have recurrent outbreaks, triggered by stress, dryness from showering, and on my the glans of my penis (wrinkled, dry, cracking, sometimes itchy skin). Sometimes I get red patches. How long would psoriasis last on the genitals? Is it possible to be there for a few days to a week only? I had an episode where I had a painless blister and it dried up and crusted over. I don't think anyone in my family has it.
Avatar n tn A common cause of eczema is chemicals in detergents. I started developing eczema for no apparent reason at age of 35 (never had it before). After a year of suffering and using Fluocinonide prescribed by doctor, I went over my credit card records and found that my eczema started soon after I switched to a new laundromat that was using a detergent called ALL. I switched back to my old one, and within a few weeks, the eczema was gone!
Avatar n tn my knuckles are not itchy and red all the time, it occurs more so around winter but i am sure its not due to cold weather, i have considered that it might be stress ( as Stress causes Eczema) but then again i'm not stressed, the knuckles are dry, cracking and are very itchy, if anyone has any ideas PLEASE post !!!
Avatar n tn I have a healthy diet, same as back home yet it still began. I was thinking that stress might be a factor but i dont really stress out anymore. I just want to try and make it go away for longer periods of time. I miss my hands not being sore and bleeding due to the tenderness and cuts that always seem to be upon them. What remedies could you'll recommend to help me if there is anything out there that may help me. Anything is appreciated.
Avatar n tn This sounds like eczema also. Part of the epidemic afflicting millions of Americans. Stress can play a part in it's severity. The stress causes increased levels of cortisol, which affects your immune system. Your immune system reacts irrationally to innocuous substances causing inflammation. There is no cure. Even though it's been around forever. Synthetic steroids are used to moderate the immune response.
Avatar n tn Thank you for your care and responses!! Any idea on the causes for dyshydrotic eczema on finger I am 41 yrs with no skin problems??
Avatar m tn As far as I know, at least in my case, is that eczema is caused by an increase in IgE levels, which can be caused by allergies, stress, et cetera. It is possible that immuno-suppresants, such as cellcept could lower IgE levels (along with the rest of your immune system) which could reduce the effect that eczema has on your body.
Avatar m tn Hi,eczema psoriasis are related to herpes in that they can interact. Having a limited herpes outbreak could cause it to spread. Its called eczema herpeticum. It is rare however and would cause someone to become ill with very painful eczema often times.
1656931 tn?1302617825 If this is eczema, it is actually common from what I read for people with eczema to have gluten intolerance. I do have eczema, but I've gotten so much better by avoiding gluten like the plague. And, if it is eczema, allergies do aggravate eczema.
Avatar m tn For my entire 14 years of life I have had eczema on the backs of my knees, arms and at points all over my body. When I was a round 9 I starting getting similar symptoms on my scrotum! This really freaked me out at the time but it eventually went away by its self. just a few weeks ago the symptoms started again but this time even worse! It starts out with an itch so bad I just have to scratch then the area turns reddish and a day later the skin peels off.
Avatar n tn i had a massage and felt better for about 3 hours and im itching even more, i dont want to panic but i want to know if theres something wrong with my liver or if its stress related and im just freaking out. my lower back around my liver was very sore and i know the front neck muscles are also relayed to the liver! please if theres any info you can give me its much appreciated!!!!
Avatar m tn Right after my ringworm and rectal bleeding symptoms went away, I developed eczema all over my body (little patches of dry skin). I admit I have been under intense anxiety after the rectal bleeding episode, so that might have caused eczema. Based on all these symptoms that suggest autoimmune problems, I am almost convinced that I have HIV or AIDS. I am planning to get tested ASAP since I cannot live with this stress and anxiety anymore (I've been under this stress for almost 2 months).
Avatar f tn Among these, eggs are probably associated the most strongly with eczema. In addition to food allergens, eczema can be exacerbated by stress, physical irritants like excess dryness or itchy clothing, sweat, tight clothes, airborne allergens like dust and pollen, and some infections. Drugs that are used to control inflammation include topical corticosteroids. Also triggering factors should be avoided. Skin dryness should be treated with specific lotions. Use only when you have manifestations.
2040835 tn?1329869995 Can anyone help? I was born with eczema but slowly grew out of it (I'm 32 now). I would get some mild eczema when on holidays by the sea along with my skin allergies, hayfever and asthma. This would normally bother me for up to 5 days an then would clear. I moved from Europe (UK) to Australia where I was hoping all my skin conditions would disappear forever, well at least my dermatologist back home was a strong believer of that.
Avatar n tn Hello, From the symptoms it sounds like dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps.
Avatar m tn Hello, A maculopapular rash can be due to eczema or dermatitis also. Eczema is a form of atopic dermatitis. There are certain other non-pharmacological measures which are equally important in treating atopic dermatitis.
