1486289 tn?1315842255 ve found the aveeno line of products to be EXTREMELY helpful and it has helped us to minimize the use of topical steroids. Aveeno does make a line of products for infants. There is also an infant eczema cream tho I'm not sure of the brand..it's in a pale green and white tube though.

Avatar f tn Hi When topical corticosteroids do not provide relief, sometimes more the doctor may consider prescribing some more potent corticosteroids for some period, in adults with may be needed for adults with eczema on the scalp, limbs, and trunk or those with chronic/ lichenified eczema. Newer two topical eczema drugs like pimecrolimus (Elidel Cream) and tacrolimus (Protopic Ointment) are reserved only for cases where corticosteroids have not been effective.
Avatar f tn Not an expert but for eczema you use a corticosteroid cream. These come in varying strengths. There are relatively weak over-the-counter hydrocortisone creams which would be worth trying. I believe one is called Cortizone?

Avatar n tn I know this misery well. Once I went on my first elimination diet for the digestive issues, that's when I discovered the true source of my misery: GLUTEN and DAIRY. The two go hand-in-hand. Look up key words like "eczema diet" "what not to eat with eczema". Conventional doctors usually miss this. I stumbled upon it myself when looking into my other health issues.
Avatar m tn ve been doing some research and think it may be eczema around my lips. Do these symptoms sound familiar for eczema? If not, ideas as to what else it might be?

Avatar m tn You can also use a barrier cream with zinc oxide paste or calamine lotion or a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash. For the itchiness, you can take some antihistaminic like Benadryl or Claritin. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn m incredibly frustrated!! In the mean time I will try the eczema cream as I have tried literally everything else under the sun. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Avatar m tn For several years I have had a sort of swimmers ear, with itchy, weepy skin inside my left ear canal. Sometimes cortizone cream will help relieve it for awhile but it always returns again. Now, I seam to have this same condition around my rectum (and hemmoroids). It is VERY VERY itchy and disturbs my sleep . After scratching the area it weeps . Do you have any remedies? I have used cortizone cream but it does not work for long.
Avatar f tn hey everyone (: I'm just under 14 weeks with my first and this winter pregnancy has already taken its toll! I have had the absolute WORST eczema you can imagine. I am not exaggerating at all when I say my entire body is covered in scabby patches of this horrible ailment. My younger brother always had it bad in the winter but I was always blessed with near flawless skin. This little one sure has thrown me for a loop!
Avatar n tn It could be eczema, sweat dermatitis, allergic reactions or eczema. You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. Apply calamine lotion at the site of the lesions and see if it helps. You could take some oral antihistamine medications like cetrizine or loratadine. You need to maintain a good personal hygiene .
Avatar f tn I just found out I was pregnant and it got worse ever since than. Try cocoa butter. Won't heal it all the way but it makes it skin smoother.
