Avatar m tn There is a sharp line on both cheeks demarcating the normal area from the affected area. I wash with cetaphil face wash and afterwards the areas are extremely dry and flaky. I'm thinking its either eczema or seborrheic dermatitis? Any advice would help! I have seen my GP and he advised me to stop using anything for a week and to come back and see him. He hasn't made a diagnosis yet.

Avatar n tn Seborrheic dermatitis is a common skin condition that causes flaky, dry, white to yellowish scales to form on oily areas esp. under the nose or anywhere on face. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated as treatment is diagnosis specific. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.

Avatar n tn my daughters 5 years and 12 years are getting white spots on face. What do you suggest?
1641357 tn?1470495393 I'm almost positive that I have eczema on my face. It's itchy, dry, red, scaly patches on my face mostly cheeks and forehead, but also around the edges of my mouth and sideburn areas. Along my hairline and my head. I've always had a problem with dandruff and i'm thinking it's moreso eczema now than dandruff. While I was pregnant it all went away (which i LOVED!) but now it's back and my face is super red and hurts and I can't stop scratching it!
Avatar f tn Someone posted a while back about having problems with the skin cracking around their eyes as if their tears were burning the skin - but I can't remember who that was. I'm posting this in case the following information might help that person or others who are having similar issues.
Avatar f tn Hi, A couple of months ago I had a red rash/dry spot show up on my bridge of my nose and my left part of my face under my eye. Since that time I have confirmed Eczema in my ears and on my scalp. Although the ears and scalp are annoying the spots on my face are really bothering me. I work in a professional environment and even with makeup they do not look very attractive. Prior to this rash/spots on my face showing up, I was vacationing in the Caribbean and they have not gone away.
3093770 tn?1389739126 archiveid=10779 For the face and ears I used Hydrocortisone Valerate Cream 0.2%. This worked well on the psoriasis on my face and ears although it took a long time to clear up. Sometimes I would rub it up into the scalp that was bordering my face and hairline. http://dailymed.nlm.nih.gov/dailymed/archives/fdaDrugInfo.cfm?archiveid=3087 Because the psoriasis was on my scalp and face, I had to have different types of creams and solutions.
Avatar f tn See beside photo- I have had this rash appearing on my face for a few years now. It appears around my mouth, chin, and sometimes in patches on my cheeks. It is not rosacea. I have spent lots of money going to many dermatologists and they have no idea what it is. They/ I think it may flare up be my immune system when it's down, but are there any treatments I could use to help stop these random outbreaks? I use eczema cream, moisturizer, lip creams etc...

Avatar m tn Also SLE or lupus should be ruled out as it typically causes rash on the face on either side of nose. Also it could be due to contact dermatitis due to any eye cosmetic or any other cosmetic you use. Hope this helps. Please let me know if there is any thing else and do keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Avoid hot tubs as well, some of the chemicals in hot tubs can be extremely irritating to people with eczema! My mom used baby oil on me as a kid so that may help for youor kids. Avoiding anything with strong scents has decreased my need for medication drastically. The best thing i can say is to visit a dermatoligist. They will be able to give you suggestions as well.
495402 tn?1220617403 Looks like I've got eczema on the back of my head and my upper neck, my doctor told me yesterday that it's most likely a side effect from the Hep C medication, which is all well and good but how to I get rid of it. Where it's on my scalp, under my hair, I can't put any type of ointment on it. Last night my boyfriend put some of his eczema salve on my neck and it did seem to stop the itching for a little while.
1415174 tn?1453243103 It looks somewhat more rough on my face than on my legs and hands. I know I need to get to a dermatologist but I have a back problem and it is hard to get around.
Avatar n tn i normally use protopic cream on my face to keep eczema at bay, however these rashes seem to be different. They occur every so often on my chin, under my eyes and around the cheek/nose area. They look like little spots, and are especially tender under my eyes and more recently under my right eye it has begun to swell slightly whilst this red patch had been present. I don't feel the protopic is the right treatment for this.
Avatar n tn Please help me. I have always had sensitive skin, but for the past five years my face have been getting dry patches all over. Now it has gotten a lot worse. i have been to a dermatologist and he thought it was eczema, but now i think he's wrong. Could any of you look at the pick and tell me what you think, please?
Avatar m tn So I saw the doctor today, not a dermatologist just my primary care doctor and said it looks like I have eczema and he gave me Clobetasol Propionate Shampoo for my scalp which seems to be working and Hyrdrocortisone and told me to use both about twice aday.
Avatar n tn it started on my forehead, now all over face, even behind ears and under my chin
Avatar n tn I've always had eczema, allergies, very sensitive skin. However, it was never really a problem until about two years ago. I'm 22, female, made no changes to my routine, diet, laundry detergent, or surroundings, and yet I developed a troubling problem with my face.
