Avatar n tn Hello, The symptoms are due to dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g.
Avatar n tn 1%) cream and ointment (the cream was to be used once a day in the mornings, and the ointment was to be used once a day in the evenings). She instructed me to use the cream/ointment very sparingly, avoid getting or rubbing it into my eyes, and to only use for 14 days. After 14 days I am supposed to switch to an emollient. I am about a week into the treatment and the eczema is clearing up nicely. I was very careful not to get the cream or ointment into my eyes.

Avatar n tn s have told me that it might be eczema I had many ointments and creams prescribed but none have seemed to resolve the problem. my knuckles are not itchy and red all the time, it occurs more so around winter but i am sure its not due to cold weather, i have considered that it might be stress ( as Stress causes Eczema) but then again i'm not stressed, the knuckles are dry, cracking and are very itchy, if anyone has any ideas PLEASE post !!!
Avatar n tn I was told to use Triamcinolone 0.1% Ointment 454gm. This was end of January. After using this ointment for a few weeks it seemed to clear up. That didn't last long. After that it came right back real bad. Is this normal? How can I get this to go away?
Avatar f tn Hi This sounds like case of dermatitis or eczema. Dishydrotic eczema is usually noted in the hands or feet. This may be due to prolonged exposure to water and certain chemicals. It may start as vesicles containing clear fluid. The vesicles may itch and this may affect areas of normal skin. Dishydrotic eczema thins the skin and makes it fragile. Irritant or xerotic eczema is another differential here. This form of eczema is due to exposures to certain irritants which may dry the skin.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Avatar f tn Someone posted a while back about having problems with the skin cracking around their eyes as if their tears were burning the skin - but I can't remember who that was. I'm posting this in case the following information might help that person or others who are having similar issues.
Avatar f tn Hey guys Im 23w&6d"s & I woke up with SEVERE ACNE !!!! I never had acne before and I can't use everything on my face because of eczema but now my eczema face cream not working.. Any advice???
937617 tn?1314212191 Sounds like Eczema to me. I've had Eczema my whole life. I read something about Pau D'Arco being used for Candidas, so I did a bit of research on it yesterday. I found out that it's supposed to treat Eczema and Psoriasis, too. Someone else told me about something called Nystatin. I haven't had a chance to research the Nystatin as of yet, and I won't be able to do so until much later today. These two things sounded like they might be worth trying for me.
Avatar n tn The rash is just on her arms. She is 11 years old. Our doctor said she was treating for scabies "just in case" as she cant understand why the eczema medicated lotion has not cleared it up. I dont think it is scabies because it has been going on since spring time and she is the only one that has the problem. And it is only on her arms, not the classic places scabies would be. She also does not have the unbearable itching that I read about scabies.
Avatar f tn I had eczema on my face for as long as i can remember, my doc perscribed triamcinolone acetonide ointment I have been using this for about 7 years and its the only thing that has worked, now when i try to lean away from it my face breaks out in all types of red burning inflamed hives what can i do to break my skin away from this ointment?
206581 tn?1193716712 If the light spots are from inflammation caused by eczema, then yes, the color can return on its own. By helping the eczema, the Protopic may promote that, and can also help vitiligo. I don't think you need to worry about Protopic's safety, but if you want to try waiting a few months first to see if the color comes back on its own, I se no problem with that. You can always try the Protopic later. Best. Dr.

Avatar m tn ECZEMA would NOT be on only ONE side of his scrotom and ONLY there. The medication used for chronic eczema is a simply TRIAMINOLONE CREAM or OINTMENT 9if you already have open sores. I do NOT hjave to be a dermatologist..IO am BETTER--I was MISDIAGNOSED with "eczema" for years to find I had multiple chronic merdical issues, including liver and kidney damage, candida, salt build up, AND needed systematic treatment.....

Avatar m tn Patches subside but reappear and now, new patches have started forming. The doctor suggested treatments for eczema-like conditions and she has been using aloe vera, cortisone cream, anti-bacterial cream, echinacea cream, none of which have worked. Would anyone have any insight as to what this could be? Could it be fungal? Thank you for reading.
Avatar m tn I had a follow up question to eyelid eczema. In between flare ups of baby's eczema, is it safe to put vaseline or aquaphor on the lid a few times a day or would you recommend something else? He rubs his eyes a lot, so anything I put on the lid tends to get in them. Thank you!!
Avatar m tn please i have sudden rashes on my elbows, inside elbows, behind my legs, it comes and goes what should i do? im currently taking fluecinonide ointment usp, 0.05% it works well but the rash comes back suddenly, what should i do?
624829 tn?1240755671 Newer two topical eczema drugs like pimecrolimus (Elidel Cream) and tacrolimus (Protopic Ointment) are reserved only for cases where corticosteroids have not been effective. Sometimes oral corticosteroids and immunosuppressants like cyclosporine and phototherapy are used for resistant cases. Since you are having intense itching, your doctor may prescribe some sedative-antihistaminics to reduce itching. You may discuss about these treatment options with your doctor.
