1221025 tn?1266842580 In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. My sincere advice is to follow up the treatment that you have been prescribed by your dermatologists. Also keep your skin well moisturized as dryness of skin aggravates the condition.

If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed.
7381903 tn?1391464888 It will go away on its own. This is normal for babies...but I heard that breast milk can help clear it up. I wouldn't put anything else on the baby's face because the skin is so delicate. Don't worry, about all babies go through this.

Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.
1227049 tn?1267237385 For approximately a year and a half I have had recurring eczema due to a previous course of accutane coupled with my already sensitive skin, and the harsh climate I live in. It is quite widespread accross my body including the face, chest, arms, and pubic region. I have tried a wide variety of things to control it. Doing nothing and natural treatments (oatmeal, honey lotion, etc.etc.) have had no affect and have caused the condition to become worse.
Avatar f tn Eczema is a skin disease that causes itchy, red, dry flaky skin. There is no cure or reasonable treatment. The treatment is typically steroids but there are side effects. You should cut down on the amount of baths you get. Don't use hot water. Use a oil based soap like oilatum or Dove all natural. Use natural laundry detergents based on enzymes. Don't use bleach or dryer pads. Use a good moisturizer just after shower. You need to moisturize at least twice a day.
Avatar f tn s infideility, you should be tested for common STDs -- chlamydia, gonorrhea -- and rare ones for which accurate tests are available, i.e. syphilis and HIV. Even if one of these were to be positive, it would have nothing to do with your eczema. Finally, no STD could cause a breast "protuberance". However, that symptom should be checked professionally to be sure it's nothing serious.
Avatar f tn What is the best treatment for vaginal Eczema. I have this for years now, it comes and goes. I use Calendula gel when I have symptoms, it seems to help but not completely. Is there something that I can use that is more effective. It is very uncomfortable. Burning sensation, etc. I had a biopsy done a few years ago and results came back (SPONGIOTIC DERMATITIS) which I been told is like ECZEMA. Can you please help or have any comments regarding this condition.

Avatar m tn I don't know about eczema on a penis as I am a girl but I do have recurring eczema on my fingers that can get really bad and I can tell you some of the things I do for that. Eczema and moisture don't get along so try and keep yourself as dry as possible. Also with mine my doctor had told me to apply cream before bed and then wear a glove overy hand while I slept to allow cream to do it's work without just evaporating off.
Avatar n tn i am 70 years old igot really bad eczema due to igehigh level can u please help meand prescribe me some medicne i am in pakistan?
Avatar n tn He has been finished with the treatment for 3 weeks and with the Elidil and dipping him in Aquaphor 3 times per day he has not had anymore than just a "dry patch" appearing here and there which I combat with the Elidil, Momentasone and Mimyx and the usual Aquaphor regimine. He also takes Atarax 2 to 3 tsps per day for his allergies. Is this wonderfully clear skin still associated with the low dose steroids? Could I be so lucky to be keeping it at bay after all of these years?
Avatar m tn theres a big line, but iveonly tried the wipes. they are made for babies so very very gentle, unlike medications and such that will probably be prescribed. I hate to go against doctors orders, but if i had the chance to take back all that ive ever tried to keep it under control or to makeit disappear, i definately would.
Avatar f tn Here's an interesting thought. I didn't know about this, 'til my primary doctor just told me. I have many food sensitivities, and I have Celiac. Did you know that eczema is one of the symptoms of Celiac? Okay, here's an interesting one for you: When I stopped eating gluten and dairy, which is absolutely essential for celiacs, I stopped having the severe eczema that I had been experiencing since I can remembering.
Avatar n tn It will come and go for the rest of your life. Balantis is just eczema on the penis. Do you have eczema any where else? Cortisone cream should clear it up. Apply twice a day for a week. If you came in contact with something that you are allergic to it will clear up as long as you don't come in contact with the substance again.
Avatar f tn I would suggest you to consult a good naturopath in your area or access the internet to find the natural treatment for your symptoms . Please do keep us posted in case you need any advice on allopathic treatment . Take care and regards !
Avatar f tn I am wondering if they still make Crack Cream Yes, I've seen Crack Cream recently in stores. There's a cream that was recommended for me and I've found it to be very helpful. I could only find it in the hospital pharmacy, however. It's called CeraVe, and it provides moisturizing as well as barrier protection. It's hypoallergenic, unscented, and safe enough to use on babies. My PA said she used it for her baby's eczema.
Avatar m tn for a long time i thought i had really stubborn eczema but until today i went to a dermatologist and i found out that it was ilven (inflammatory linear verrucous epidermal naevus) i want to know more about treatments for ilven. i herd about CO2 laser treatment and apparently it worked well to reduce itching...but is this long term? also about surgery where removing parts of the skin.
