Avatar f tn They have a new Goldbonds eczema lotion I've seen advertised on tv but I havnt tried it. The healing lotion by them is what worked for me.
Avatar n tn Hello, In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. Medical research shows that the most effective treatment plan for eczema involves using a combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid which are available by prescription.
Avatar f tn My son had it at well.
Avatar f tn Any good treatment for eczema? 20wks today. Really suffering a lot. Tried Alpha Keri and QV intensive care but its not working. Help please....
Avatar f tn i was recently introduced to meleleuca products,n they are fantastic! it got rid of all the eczema rash, uses the pure oil, then the RENEW lotion,it is the best thing ive uses so far,it doesnt thin the skin out klike most cortisone creams the doc usually prescribes,my question is this...although the rash n itch has gone away, the awful pimple like blisters have not, does anyone know what i could use to rid of it?
Avatar n tn Hello, Apart from steroids which is basic treatment for eczema, topical emmolients to prevent moisture loss from the skin can be used because Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed but they are not used in children.
Avatar f tn I also have dry itchy skin during treatment although I have eczema even when I'm not in treatment. It might be a symptom of hep c. I also use Gold Bond but Gold Bond Ultimate Healing Lotion with Aloe because the itching hasn't been that bad.
Avatar f tn What maight be the cause and how we could be treating for existing eczema. we are under homeoepathy and medical treatment now.
Avatar f tn I am wondering if they still make Crack Cream. The eczema that I have always had on my hands is now raging. I like Gold Bond lotion Extra Strength for itching on the body. I would not put it near my eyes. It has Eucalyptus or something of the sort in it. I think moisturizing is the best therapy for itching except in the case of my eczema. I'll stick to the prescription for that.
Avatar f tn Target has a generic aveeno white bottle brown cap in the lotion section. Oatmeal baths. The steroid cream is NOT to be used on pregnant women unless the risk outweighs the problem.... I have to put it on my lil man and read the bottle after the first time putting on him and now make my husband do it just in case. The lotion works pretty good. The Dr said you can use crissco, Vaseline, auqaphor... However it's spelt.
Avatar m tn it appears to be an "eczema" disease. i'v been experiencing it for 2 years and it spreaded from my middle, to the 2nd, 4th and now the 1st finger (only right hand). So the finger's skin made a cycle, where it peeled, and then it grows the newer one but its thick and theres no fingrprint in it, then it goes back to peeling and again. (But in a small area).

1281453 tn?1275894600 Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. Apply calamine lotion and take some antihistaminics like Benadryl. If the symptoms persist then topical steroids may be needed. For this please consult a dermatologist. Also keep it well moisturized as eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with eczema but the treatment does not help. I develop itchy, dry rashes mainly on the inner thighs with patches on the forehead. Eventually these rashes get dry and scaly and won't stop peeling and when they heal there is a lack of pigment in the area which lasts for months. I was recently in India and treated with medtronidazole for a parasite which cleared up the rashes for about 6 months but now it is back worse than ever. Any ideas?
9041091 tn?1410417329 To help with eczema get some Cortizone Eczema Lotion. Its betweeen $8-$10 a bottle.I ewas instructed not to put ANYTHINGthat has a scent to it on my sons skin becabecause it makes it worse and sunscreen has a scent and I've never heard of that helping either.

1014914 tn?1251084646 In addition to the steroid treatments, use good quality moisturizers to prevent moisture loss from the skin. In most cases of eczema no one treatment will be effective. A combination of therapies to treat the skin and making lifestyle changes(prevention of triggers and application of lots of moisturizers) to control flare-ups is helpful in long cases. I hope it helps.Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
Avatar n tn The first step should be to speak with your physician to determine if he/she has exhausted all diagnosis/treatment efforts and if Eczema is the correct diagnosis. If that is the case then you and your doctor should consider consultation with a Dermatologist, ideally one with an avid interest in this disease, at the nearest University Medical Center.
Avatar f tn Hello, There's a possibility of it being a fungal infection. Other possibility is discoid eczema or contact dermatitis. In discoid eczema there are round or oval red patches of inflamed skin. Regular use of emollients to moisturize the skin, steroid creams to reduce inflammation may be helpful in this condition. If it is a fungal infection topical fungal cream without steroids may help. You should consult a dermatologist before starting any treatment. Do keep me posted.
Avatar n tn Hi, i have a dry red area on the head of my penis. I'm not circumcised. It has been like this for maybe 4mths and was probably caused by not using a condom. In the past i treated it with Canestan cream and it stopped it drying out but was occasionally itchy. It never quit so i saw a doctor who put me on some tablets (sorry don't have name) and i had to apply triamcinolone acetonide lotion twice a day after showering.
Avatar m tn It is usually seen in uncircumcised men due to poor hygiene. Other causes are dermatitis, allergies, infection such as candida, gonorrhea etc, eczema. Treatment depends upon the cause of the rash, antibacterial or antifungal .ointments can be prescribed by the doctor. It is important to keep the area clean and also to avoid strong soaps or chemicals which can cause a skin reaction. It is always better to see your doctor who can diagnose and prescribe appropriate treatment for you.
Avatar n tn I have used alot of creams and tried a variety of moisturizers already some work right away but start to irritate my skin and then usually after that it doesnt work anymore or it just right out irritates my skin and causes a stinging pain. I think its eczema but this is WORSE than its ever been in my life, i am 20 years old. During winter and autumn its stable, bearable and is ok BUT when it gets to summer and spring it gets really bad.
Avatar n tn This sounds to me like eczema. I have had eczema for years but only recently has it been on my hands. It is an allergic reaction. Sometimes mine heal and sometimes the skin on my fingers peels making them very sensitive. For this, my doctor recommended a steroidal cream. While it isn't dry skin, one of the keys to eczema is moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! Although I caution you in doing that because it might be the lotion that you are allergic to (as I am...).
