eczema in kids

My family has eczema from my mom kids down to her grand kids. My son has it really bad. He takes a bath with Dove sensitive soap. The doctor prescribed him a prescription for lotions and creams. In between baths I use Aveeno. I wash his hair in free and clear medicated shampoo. My son is 8yrs old had since he been born. My neices also have it. I do not use any scented products on him at all not even to wash his clothes. He wears medicated deodorant.

To help with eczema get some Cortizone Eczema Lotion. Its betweeen $8-$10 a bottle.I ewas instructed not to put ANYTHINGthat has a scent to it on my sons skin becabecause it makes it worse and sunscreen has a scent and I've never heard of that helping either.

My friend has an 8 month old with what is probably eczema on her cheeks. I had seen a post about this at some point. Does anyone have any adice or anything they have tried and had good results with?

My kids and myself suffer from eczema. Weve tried hydrocortisone all the lotions nothing helps. What else can we do?

Has your DR spoke to you about your diet? Eczema can be traced back to what you eat most of the time. This is especially true for kids. For adults you have to look at the detergents you are using, along with moisturizer. The most important thing is not scratching and to keep applying moisturizer. It can be hard to find one that agrees with your skin. Just after shower apply a liberal coat of a natural moisturizer like coconut oil.

I have the same problem on my fingers and palm, I have feared a bit that it is Lyme disease, because I have heard that eczema doesn't happen to kids my age, 13, is having eczema at my age normal?

Symptoms as you describe can get very serious and need to be limited in exposure because add'l exposure can worsen the reaction. If you baby is ok with soy, maybe your doctor will allow soy formula to be introduced ...

My kids have eczema, cause they got it from their dad. That doesn't sound like eczema. Babies get baby acne. It's normal, it's just their little pours starting to work. It goes away. Just make sure you DON'T pop them. It very well could be a heat rash too. Some times when their snuggling with you, it's get really warm, and that can cause it. It all goes away on it's own. Also if it was eczema it'd be patchy.

Just last week i read about how apple cider vinegar helps in eczema itch relief. I gave it a try and it really works. I diluted the ACV in one part water and one part ACV and applied it with a cotton ball. Let it dry and apply Polisporin to areas that are starting to heal. I know everyone reacts differently but this is the only thing that worked for me for a long time. Im still in the healing stage from the scratching but the itch is gone.

Hello I have had eczema ever since I was a child but the last few years it has been more bothersome. For years now it has been on the palms of my hands. Sometimes its worse than others but it seems to pretty much always be there. I have been given many different cremes, lotions etc and nothing topically seems to work.

I used aveeno baby lotion on my son and still do and he is now three and it works really well and there is also a soap for babies that is for eczema that you can get at walmart that comes in a teal bottle that has winnie the pooh on it

The scabs that form are yellow, like there may have been pus in them. I am a picker and cannot leave them alone. I was wondering if it could be shingles. Doctor says it is eczema but I have 2 different types of break-outs.

I have eczema but was not sure if thats what it was or not its kind of crater like white in the middle and red around the edges.. I have eczema all around it because I covered it with a band aid (allergic to them) to be on the safe side.. how likely do you think its a herpes sore or am I just being paranoid here.. thanks in advance..

I use Aveeno baby gentle conditioning shampoo because one of my kids has eczema and it works good. It gets them clean without all the harsh scents.

You probably have eczema in the groin area. Their are dozens of posts on this site and others concerning the same symptoms. My whole scrotum turns red and sometime the leg creases. None of the medication the doctors gave me do anything. I do not itch unless it turns really red. But when you read about eczema it usually itches and turns red after you scratch it. I never scratch, but it turns red sometimes within minuets. The area gets so dark in color it looks brown.

My first thought was eczema. Atopic dermatitis is a form of eczema. Since there are different kinds of eczema, finding an exact picture is frustrating. I have psoriasis so I know how frustrating skin problems can be. Good luck.
