eczema

478342 tn?1241369352 Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Eczema can be exacerbated by dryness of the skin. Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.

Avatar f tn I have owned and rode horses all my life. I am having difficulty coping with not being able to ride because ppl told me I cant. Is it seriously that big a deal to ride? Avatar f tn I am a 47 year old female. I had a history of psoriasis as a child. My rash started in December of 2009. I saw a dermatologist who diagnosed the rash as hives and possible eczema. He placed me on Prednisone 40mg daily for almost 3 mo with little improvement. The rash is bilateral and is migratory. I have used several otc and prescriptions for antihistamines and lotions with little to no improvement. The rash is currently on my upper back, neck, scalp and hips.
Avatar f tn It has been about 3 weeks since i noticed it but its not getting any worse. Is there an eye med i can put in it in case there is some infection going on without causing blindness? Also there seems to be a little more watery discharge from it, but he typically has a little watery discharge from his eyes anyway. He is an appy and i know i have to watch for moon blindness but just wondering if he hit his eye or scraped it at some point could the swelling below the eye be a sign of infection?
Avatar n tn ve been waking myself up in the middle of the night with a Charlie horse in my leg. Then I usually fix it but then a bit later it'll be my other leg. I know it's not a dietary thing because I take my prenatals everyday and usually drink an organic juice cleanse that has 100% of daily fruits and vegetables in it. Has any one else experienced this while pregnant and know why?
Avatar f tn Tonic water, warm milk, bananas

Avatar n tn Just last week i read about how apple cider vinegar helps in eczema itch relief. I gave it a try and it really works. I diluted the ACV in one part water and one part ACV and applied it with a cotton ball. Let it dry and apply Polisporin to areas that are starting to heal. I know everyone reacts differently but this is the only thing that worked for me for a long time. Im still in the healing stage from the scratching but the itch is gone.

Avatar n tn Does it work for Charley horses in the stomach? I get horrible Charley horses in my stomach ever since I had my surgery. My husband says he gets them because of dehydration, but I know that this is not the case for me. Ever since my surgery I drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. A never drink anything carbonated, 1 cup of coffee a day, but I do have to take Miralax every other day.

Avatar f tn My 7 month son has eczema and has had a rattling in his breathing which gets worse at night for 4 weeks. The doctor has looked at him and says it's coming fro high up which means there's nothing wrong. However i'm worried it's asthma. My brother had it with eczema as a child so there's a family history. He's got an intolerance to cows milk so he only eats soya. He's had a permanent cold since he was about 2 weeks old.
Avatar n tn It can involve one or both eyes. The affected eye, is the right eye in your horses case. An eye with a strabismus will show excess sclera (white of the eye), and the pupil will appear to be slanted abnormally. A horse with this condition will have difficulty seeing out of the affected eye which will result in stumbling, bumping into things on the affected side, and increased nervousness (spooking easily).
