Common Questions and Answers about Eczema feet

eczema

Avatar n tn Updating you on my dyshidrotic eczema on my hands and bottom of my feet. I was using the steroid cream my dr gave me and following your advice about washing my hands and using a good lotion. Nothing was working and I felt like actually getting worse. I had some Zyrtec and started taking one a day for a week and it's basically working!! Very few itchy areas pop up once a day or less! Thanks for the advice!!
Avatar n tn Lichen Simplex Chronicus is seen in people with eczema. It is non contagious. It is treated like chronic eczema by decreasing water and soap contact, and applying emollients. Topical steroids are almost always needed to control the symptoms. You can use mild steroid cream like Dermacort and if the symptoms persist then high potency steroids and oral steroids may be needed. My sincere advice would be to consult a dermatologist to get the diagnosis confirmed.
Avatar n tn I have small firm bumps all over the tops of my feet with clusters around the ankle - nothing between toes and I wear Birkenstock most of the time so my feet are not moist. They do not weep or crust they are just tiny bumps that sometimes itch just slightly. I can scrub the tops off the bumps with a skin scrubbing pad but they are back in two days. I may have contracted them at a health spa a few years back. I have looked at photos of athletes foot and it does not match.
Avatar f tn He may not realize he might have eczema. This is a lifelong condition and the only real practical way to deal with eczema is through diet. Look up things like "foods not to eat with eczema" and "diet for eczema". The general consensus is that gluten and dairy should be avoided. I wish conventional doctors would tell their patients this, because not eating gluten and dairy is the only long term solution that helps me. Make sure you do the research, though.
Avatar m tn This could be psoriasis, ectopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, discoid eczema or any other eczema. Please consult a skin specialist. Take care!
Avatar n tn Then 2 days ago she seems to have the blotchy red rash on her feet. I have taken her to the doctor and they said it is not hand foot and mouth. They think it's eczema. However, the entire family seems to have this sore hand symptom with some bumps but not the redness or blotchy areas.
Avatar f tn Could it be eczema or something else? I have never had eczema, so this would seem weird to me if it is and to just have it in one isolated spot. Should I see my doctor? Thank you!
Avatar n tn It could be a fungus or maybe eczema. Try Lamisil cream first and see if it goes away after a few days. Don't scratch and wash your hands well after applying the cream. If it doesn't work within a week (with no scratching). You may want to see a doctor about it if that doesn't work. Eczema is very itchy and usually isn't on the bottom of the feet but it could be. If so, then don't scratch and keep it well moisturized.
Avatar m tn 11 months had what seemed like a reaction to a body wash soap. Initially had itching/burning specifically on my feet and genital area. Since then, the problem seems to come and go. I'll have an episode that lasts for 2-4 weeks and then it completely goes away for a few months. Now again, I'm experiencing the same itch/burn and it seems to have sprung up b/c I used a new scented soap a few weeks back.
Avatar m tn Hello, One of the possibilities for your wife’s symptoms is of eczema. Eczema is term for a group of medical conditions that cause the skin to become inflamed or irritated. Topical medication like mild steroids(hydrocortisone)to higher-potency steroid is frequently prescribed. If the eczema is more severe, phototherapy (a type of treatment that uses light therapy) or systemic (circulates throughout the body) medication like oral steroids may be prescribed.
569705 tn?1217017492 I have had it since Aug 2007. The dr. gave me pamphlets on hand eczema and the paper said that some eczema is associated with a fungus that also affects the soles of your feet. When I intially went to the dr my feet where already infected. The nails on my hands are also discolored and grow in what I can only describe has "ripples" and crumble off. I have been seeing this dr since January and am not happy with my progress.
Avatar n tn I've had my first outbreak of Eczema at 32 years old (Male) and it started out as athlete's foot and now is diagnosed by my doctor as Eczema. It was on my toes for four months and last week it started on my ankle, noe I'm getting little bumps on my hands. I've been on burrow's solution, oral terbinafine tablets, anti-histamines and a foot cream for the eczema. It's very slowly getting better but winter is coming and I soon won't be able to open shoes for the cold.
Avatar m tn Also, I've read that if you have eczema and you find the allergen with a test, you should avoid the allergen. Avoing, obviously, will prevent rashes?
Avatar m tn First of all it started with my hands being itchy, then my arms, torso, legs, now my feet and soles of my feet at this very moment are itching so bad. Usually when I'm itching my hands there are cracks and they can sometimes bleed. I have also noticed that my skin tingles under hot water (being a person who likes hot baths and showers). Before you ask no, I haven't change deodorant, soap, washing powder, diet.

Avatar f tn ok so about a month or so ago I noticed that I was getting red spots or a rash type thing on my belly and arms. I went to the doctors and they told me that it was eczema do to the dry weather and what not. So they gave me some cream that was supposed to help reduce it spread but I've never ever have my eczema this bad before so I'm starting to think that its not and the cream isn't helping one bit...
Avatar f tn I freaked about this eczema but I thought it was something else ( i cant remember the name of it but its when your liver bile isnt being absorbed and your feet get EXTREMLY itchy and blotchy) but then the eczema symptoms that I'm used too so it eased my mind.
Avatar m tn Over the last couple of years I notice flairs are a little more frequent covering a larger area and recently even moved to my feet and my penis. I am scared and embarrassed as a 35 year old man. Is clobetasol too strong for genitals? Is there another option my dermatologist hasn't considered?
Avatar f tn My feet have been randomly over a few years been getting red spots and rings on the sole of my feet. They are very painful and it feels like I'm stepping on rocks. One dr said it may be eczema but I'm not so sure.
Avatar n tn I would get up in the middle of the night with really hot itchy feet. After a week i noticed small red blisters on my feet only when i would scratch. The itch would only wake me up a couple of times in the middle of the night and i was better for a while but now my itch has come back with a vengeance since the weather got hotter. I now stay awake almost all night, every hour and keep immersing my feet every hour to control the itch.
Avatar n tn Hello, If there is any such persistent rash on the body which has been classified by a doctor as eczema then these blisters can be due to dyshidrotic eczema. Eczema is a form of chronic dermatitis (rash).Allergic reaction is one of the important causes of eczema. But the confirmation of diagnosis has to be done first. Please consult a dermatologist and get it evaluated. I hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted in case you have any additional doubts. Kind regards.
