Avatar n tn Hi, I am a 19 yr old male. Several months ago, I noticed the corners of my mouth becoming dry and cracked. Almost at the same time I noticed a yeast infection on my genitals. Fast forward a couple of months, the dry cracked corners of my mouth seem to have spread downwards towards my chin and are larger and redder now. Also, there is redness that is slightly flaky on either side of my nose extending down to the top of my mouth.
Avatar n tn It started with just a patch of skin on his face hear the nose and mouth. We applied hydrocortisone cream to see if it was just an allergic rash. The redness has gone away, but spread over his face. It is like rough skin, almost sandpaper feeling, that you can't see till you are up close to him. He is perfectly fine, no fever, no complaint of sore throat. Please tell me your take on this. Thank you for your time.

Avatar n tn Hello, Without examination,it is very difficult to confirm a diagnosis but it can be contact dermatitis(allergic or irritant),eczema(atopic dermatitis) or perioral dermatitis. Allergic contact dermatitis is an inflammation of the skin caused by an allergy to a substance. In irritant contact dermatitis there is skin irritation, including inflammation, swelling of the area, and warmth. The rash will be confined to the specific area that came into contact with the offending agent.
Avatar f tn I have noticed that a week after my period ends I get exteremly red, dry, flaky skin on my face. It occurs mainly on the sides of my nose, just above my eyebrow, and sometime on the the out edges of my face. It often burns and itches. This is the only time it occurs and usually clears up within 2 weeks.
Avatar f tn I've had eczema on my hands and around my mouth for nearly four years now, what has also developed is a serious itch around my pubic area. Starts of like little water blisters then with scratching in my sleep wake up with bloodied nails and a very sore vagina. Also very flaky skin. I've tried almost everything the doctor can think of.
Avatar f tn Avoid using any lotions and creams over the face for the meantime. Wash your face with a mild cleanser with moisturizing properties like Cetaphil. Pat your face dry. Then apply a good hypoallergenic moisturizer over the area and see if this improves. If the symptoms still persist then you can apply mild steroid like dermacort. If the irritation persists then please get it evaluated from a dermatologist. Other possibilities need to be ruled out after a biopsy skin.
Avatar m tn Ive been treated by previous dermatologist for eczema on my face around my eyes back of my ears and even on my body but they could never help with the marks around my mouth. A previous dermatologist gave me bleaching creame and pretty much told me that because my top lip is bigger than my botton lip I may have saliva coming out the sides of my mouth even though it doesnt feel like it causing a reaction. Ive done just about everything and used just about everything.

Avatar f tn I have eczema on the skin around my mouth and even on my lips. Nothing seems to work. I recently noticed that after eating anything with tomatoes, even ketchup, causes my eczema around my mouth to get worse than it already is. So I have eliminated it from my diet for almost a year now. I have even started using organic toothpaste without fluoride and sodium lauryl sulfate.
1641357 tn?1470495393 I'm almost positive that I have eczema on my face. It's itchy, dry, red, scaly patches on my face mostly cheeks and forehead, but also around the edges of my mouth and sideburn areas. Along my hairline and my head. I've always had a problem with dandruff and i'm thinking it's moreso eczema now than dandruff. While I was pregnant it all went away (which i LOVED!) but now it's back and my face is super red and hurts and I can't stop scratching it!
Avatar f tn See beside photo- I have had this rash appearing on my face for a few years now. It appears around my mouth, chin, and sometimes in patches on my cheeks. It is not rosacea. I have spent lots of money going to many dermatologists and they have no idea what it is. They/ I think it may flare up be my immune system when it's down, but are there any treatments I could use to help stop these random outbreaks? I use eczema cream, moisturizer, lip creams etc...
Avatar m tn I was born with eczema and during my childhood it manifested in my arms. Suddenly, my eczema cleared up and I was completely fine, I thought I was cured. My freshman year in high school, the skin around my mouth began to chap. I didn't really pay much attention so I used original chapstick. As time passed it got more and more intense. I'm now a senior in high school and at this moment I'm experiencing a flare-up.
Avatar n tn Hi, Are there other symptoms present? If you do not have a history of allergies, this could be an infection, eczema or dermatitis. Eczema or inflammation of the epidermis may present with dryness, redness, flaking, blistering, cracking, or bleeding. However, since the symptoms have been there for 3 weeks, I recommend that you have this evaluated further by your dermatologist for proper management. Direct clinical examination is important for proper diagnosis.
Avatar f tn as far as i know i have 2 skin conditions, rosacea and eczema. both reoccur from time to time. i was taking clomiphene 3 months ago and became pregnant. ever since taking the clomiphene a rash appeared under my mouth next to my chin down the sides. its sore, itchy, dry and bumpy. it occasionally weeps clear fluid from the bumps and then forms a white scab on the lumps. is this a bad case of rosacea i have no facial flushing in that area.? is this eczema or some form of dermatitis.
Avatar f tn I was using the cream for a patch of eczema by my mouth, so when the rash appeared I thought it was the eczema and continued to apply the cream to the spreading rash. I continued to use the cream daily for 5 months because it was the only thing that kept what I thought to be eczema at bay. After realizing what I was doing to my skin I stopped using the steroid cream and I am not using make up or face wash, just warm water. I was wondering if I can use a moisterizer or not?
Avatar n tn Okay, it does have its similarities to eczema in looks. But why only my face? Usually its on arms and legs. It doesnt get dry like eczema either. I just use a regular bar of soap on my face just like I always have.
