Avatar n tn Hi, Are there other symptoms present? Eczema, a form of dermatitis, may present with dryness and recurring skin rashes, redness, swelling, itching and dryness. There are many types of eczema and to be able to diagnose this, direct clinical examination of the lesions is important. Keep the area clean and dry. And try to avoid scratching to prevent secondary infection. You can read more about this through this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eczema Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn Now what I am curious about is that when she had eczema herpeticum, it was quite bad on her right arm, few spots on her face. The rest of her skin totally cleared up from eczema. It actually went quite soft to touch which is not normal for her skin at all. She is very sore normally. Now that the viral infection has clearde up my daughter's eczema has returned as well. What could be the reason for that? I would be very grateful if somebody could point me in the right direction.
Avatar n tn Okay, it does have its similarities to eczema in looks. But why only my face? Usually its on arms and legs. It doesnt get dry like eczema either. I just use a regular bar of soap on my face just like I always have.
1641357 tn?1470495393 I'm almost positive that I have eczema on my face. It's itchy, dry, red, scaly patches on my face mostly cheeks and forehead, but also around the edges of my mouth and sideburn areas. Along my hairline and my head. I've always had a problem with dandruff and i'm thinking it's moreso eczema now than dandruff. While I was pregnant it all went away (which i LOVED!) but now it's back and my face is super red and hurts and I can't stop scratching it!
Avatar f tn The one involving the hands may be dishydrotic eczema while that on the groin may be a fungal infection. Perioral dermatitis may refer to the skin condition surrounding the mouth. Taking oral antihistamines may help alleviate the itchiness. Applying 1% hydrocortisone over the areas may also be able to help. If scaling is present KOH examination of the scales may be able to ascertain if a fungal infection is present.

Avatar n tn Hi, Are there other symptoms present? If you do not have a history of allergies, this could be an infection, eczema or dermatitis. Eczema or inflammation of the epidermis may present with dryness, redness, flaking, blistering, cracking, or bleeding. However, since the symptoms have been there for 3 weeks, I recommend that you have this evaluated further by your dermatologist for proper management. Direct clinical examination is important for proper diagnosis.
Avatar f tn This child has severe cold sore outbreaks all over their face that spreads through their eczema. You would have to have a bleeding wound to transmit wouldn't you?
1415174 tn?1453243103 I first got an allergy to using a sunscreen. My forehead and cheeks broke out in a face rash that had small red non itcy bumps. That went away but then I have some larger itchy bumps that won't go away. I don't think they are an infection it is related to the allergy. I am only washing my face with Cetaphil and then adding 10% glycerin for some hydration to these spots. Glycerin is a natural substance found in the body and I don't think that is causing a problem.
Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. Avatar f tn //img211.imageshack.us/img211/2779/dsc07355z.jpg SECOND: From a recent skin analysis, they found that I have staphylococcus aureus on the very same place. I know staphylococcus lives on skin even in regular conditions but I also know I've had impetigo when I was younger. These lesions that I have now are so less troublesome; they don't spread on other parts of my body and they easily disappear too, but they eventually always return.
