1486289 tn?1315842255 ve found the aveeno line of products to be EXTREMELY helpful and it has helped us to minimize the use of topical steroids. Aveeno does make a line of products for infants. There is also an infant eczema cream tho I'm not sure of the brand..it's in a pale green and white tube though.

2170635 tn?1357911686 m racking my brain as my oldest had this and now has full blown eczema. The face makes me think not eczema tho. If its red or irritated stop any soaps, lotions, cremes. Eczema is best defeated by changing your soaps to hypoallergenic.... Including laundry soap. To me it honestly sounds like normal baby acne just a little extreme. Make a list of what you've tried and call your doctor. My son often needed a steroidal creme as an infant to kick things like this.
Avatar n tn My 2 month old was prescribed a cortisone cream of 1% to use sparingly on her face once a day for a week. It helped her eczema but now her skin has changed from from light brown to white with her natural skin color looking like a ring around her face. It's been a month now and I would like to know if her natural color will return? If so how long will it take? I never knew that would happen in such a short time with such small amount.

I now only use hypo-allergenic detergent & use skin cream during summer as it flares up during the hotter period.

Avatar n tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be contact dermatitis or eczema. Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g.

Avatar f tn Now why would eczema break your face out with red bumps? eczema doesn't break out in bumps. Actually has no bumps. 99% of doctors mistake another thing for eczema. Now if you had ACD, then that would explain much more. Allergic contact dermatitis, and not to be confused with contact dermatitis, which doctors do mention. Contact dermatitis is from a contact with chemicals.
Avatar n tn Anti-itch drugs, often antihistamine, may reduce the itch during a flare up of eczema, and the reduced scratching in turn reduces damage and irritation to the skin. For mild-moderate eczema a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone or desonide), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide). Moisturizing is one of the most important self-care treatments for sufferers of eczema.

He hasn't made a diagnosis yet.
