If they actually wanted to study it they would probably break it down to hundreds of different problems and causes. The only thing that seems to be common for eczema is the itching and flaking.
I am 43 and have a problem with the skin down under. The problem is there every day and hasn't responded to anything. I don't have any other skin problems and have never had any skin problems prior to this.

My family had no history of chronic diseases such as diabetes, cancer, or anything of that sort. However, I was born with eczema and asthma, which has subsided with age. Another big thing to take out of the diet is SUGAR--all forms of it, natural and otherwise. Sugar causes inflammation. And, what is eczema other than a form of external inflammation? Thus, the other name for eczema is dermatititis. Eczema is just more severe. I suggest that you DON'T use artificial sweeteners. They cause other health issues. They don't taste good anyway. Weaning myself off of sugar gradually didn't work. I had to go cold turkey. Guess what?

Yes I have this itchy scrotum. I'm on a medication that causes eczema. I can't stop taking the medication or else I won't have any place to live. The itching is in fact all over my body; but I learned that certain foods causes me to break out in hives in conjuction with the medication. The itching on my scrotum is forever constant. I've tried all kinds of anti-itch medication as well as 1% hydrocortizones. Nothing works on this itch. I mean no oils,lotions,body wash.
