Avatar f tn I am experiencing chronic itching on my legs, how can this be stopped? What causes this?
Avatar n tn I know this misery well. Once I went on my first elimination diet for the digestive issues, that's when I discovered the true source of my misery: GLUTEN and DAIRY. The two go hand-in-hand. Look up key words like "eczema diet" "what not to eat with eczema". Conventional doctors usually miss this. I stumbled upon it myself when looking into my other health issues.
Avatar n tn I have dermatitis and eczema on my face and arms, so could it have been transferred through scratching to my lips? Also nothing is working (steroids, e45, aqueous cream, vaseline, chapsticks etc.) so any advice there?
Avatar f tn t use because those steroid creams would just make it worse and plus, my mom wanted to try this remedy since my skin was open and thinned out. The remedy was lemons and coconut oil which probably killed the germs but didn't really help the rash. So, since my rash was so bad I had no choice but to use the strong steroid cream and these antibiotics the doctor gave me which made it feel better but didn't make it better...

Avatar m tn Hello, These white scales can be due to seborrheic dermatitis, smegma, fungal infection, eczema, scoriasis or lichen sclerosis. Even psoriasis needs to be ruled out. Psoriasis is a long-term (chronic) skin problem that causes skin cells to grow too quickly, resulting in thick, white, silvery, or red patches of skin.It is thought that psoriasis occurs when the immune system overreacts, causing inflammation and flaking of skin. I suggest you to get a biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis.
Avatar f tn My son has had warts on his legs since he was 2. He's now 9 years old. One came up on his ankle and it has spread into dozens since then on his legs and feet. We've tried over the counter stuff and that didn't work. We've went to a dermatologist even since everytime we tried something it seemed like more warts came back than he originally had. They definitely were multiplying.

Avatar n tn I would recommend that he see an allergist that specializes in eczema. Eczema frequently has an allergic cause. Treat the underlying allergy and the eczema clears up. I know some people who have had success with Allergra and Zyrtec. My daughter only has eczema in the winter when she is not out side as much. This may also be related to a low vitamin D level. Has anyone checked his vitamin D level?
Avatar n tn This is probably eczema. Cortisone is a steroid. Unfortunately due to incredible greed modern medicine doesn't offer much more than steroids. They are more than willing to accept all your money, so they can buy more homes and expensive cars. There is a possibility that you have a fungus, in which case you are making the problem worse by using cortisone. Try not applying any thing except Vaseline on the area. Athletes foot spray might help if it's fungus.
Avatar m tn Hi, This could be an eczema or atopic dermatitis. The term eczema is broadly applied to a range of persistent skin conditions. These include dryness and recurring skin rashes which are characterized by one or more of these symptoms: redness, skin edema (swelling), itching and dryness, crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing, or bleeding. It is basically a skin inflammation which is caused due to genetic predisposition and environmental factors, allergy being the most important factor.
Avatar f tn m just under 14 weeks with my first and this winter pregnancy has already taken its toll! I have had the absolute WORST eczema you can imagine. I am not exaggerating at all when I say my entire body is covered in scabby patches of this horrible ailment. Avatar f tn Any good treatment for eczema? 20wks today. Really suffering a lot. Tried Alpha Keri and QV intensive care but its not working. Help please....
Avatar f tn Not too sure when the development started, but a few days ago I noticed two eczema like splotches on my right arm close to the arm pit region (no hereditary links) . Shortly after that discovery I noticed tiny little red dots all over both my arms and shoulders because they started to itch. I figured it was because I ate crab Easter weekend (which I recently concluded I might be allergic to) and I was having an allergic reaction. So I took Claritin for hives and put some hydrocortisone cream on.
