Avatar m tn A bacterial infection often accompanies eczema, worsening symptoms. An eczema bleach bath is thought to kill the bacteria on the skin, reducing itching, redness and scaling. This is most effective when combined with other eczema treatments, such as medication and moisturizers. If properly diluted and used as directed, a bleach bath is safe for both children and adults.
Avatar m tn I don't know how itchy arms happens but I found something that made the super itchiness in my arms stop. A friend who's had a life-time of eczema told me about bleach baths. So I did as he advised, I took a cup of bleach (Clorox) and poured it in a bath tub of warm/hot water and got in it for 10 minutes. The first time I did this ended all of the itching. Four days later I did this bleach bath again because I thought I felt the itch returning and again it worked.
Avatar m tn I read an article about a woman who bathe in bleach in an attempt to cure eczema and burned 90 plus percent of her skin. It was horrible! I do hope that someone more knowledgeable than I would be able to read your post. Just don't lose hope as help will eventually comes along.
Avatar f tn If it's a type of eczema, what he eats will make a difference. I have a different type of eczema, but the strategies will be the same. Google "eczema diet" or "what not to eat with eczema". Also, it matters what the skin comes into contact with. He may be allergic to sulfites. Check out the allergy community and look for the thread called "what else contains sulfites". There are some links within the thread for you to consider.
Avatar m tn s of healthy bateria on your skin, and they help to keep your skin stable ans hydrated. By using bleach you will kill off lots of these friendly bateria making it much more likely that the more virulaent staff, also present in the billions will get the upper hand. I know personally what it feels like for ones skin to feel like it is swirming to get off you, crawling with ants, and so fragile like a thin light bulb about to shatter into a trillion pieces..
Avatar n tn Hello, For eczema skin, Wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites. You can apply some calamine lotion at the rash as it will help in soothing the skin. You can take some OTC oral antihistamine medications like Benadryl or Claritin and see if it helps. For mild-moderate symptoms a weak steroid may be used (e.g. hydrocortisone as dermacort), whilst more severe cases require a higher-potency steroid (e.g. clobetasol propionate, fluocinonide).

Avatar n tn So I recently realized I have really weird, flaky, scaly, sort of tanish pubic/pelvis skin. And Im wondering if there is a term for this, the doctor said it was possibly a allergic reaction, but wouldnt it have gone away by itself?
Avatar n tn My 8 year old son has what is believed to be eczema we have done a biopsy which one pathologist read as psoriasis and another read as eczema and his dermatologist thought he had skin lupus. We are currently treating it as eczema and he is on elidel and triamcinolone cream, we have tried tanning beds and bleach baths. No relieve, this has been going since last Nov. The dermatologist wants to put him on methotraxate (sp?) (chemo drug). I am nervous, any advice????

Avatar m tn Have tried expensive Nivea for Men (useless), olive oil, garlic olive oil, cut raw garlic then wiped on skin (ouch, stung), butter, margarine, lavender (skin, relax) and Tea tree (bleach) essential oil(s), all for several days in a row. (All useless) Doctor gave me Epaderm ointment. (I.e. no colour, no perfume... as organic and free-range as any ointment could be.) Much improved with the Epaderm (and squeezy hand grips for circulation can only have helped).
1911870 tn?1345419009 ve always been allergic to antibacterial anything. Bleach hand sanatizer soaps lysol wipes spray anything that kills 99% of germs, lol. Maybe try a non antibacterial soap if your using one. My drs told me there is something in it that is to harsh on my skin. If your doing dishes or even if not i'd recommend the original blue dawn. I use it every where even on my dogs (it kills fleas) lol hope this helps.
Avatar m tn but growing up all the doctors ever gave me was steroids, creams with cortizone, and stuff that would bleach my skin, and sometimes make it worse, lots of antibiotics, and geez i dont even know what other type of crazy stuff. and fyi..if i could take it all back now i would. I dont feel that i was properly informed or told how to care for myself in ways that might help my skin which i have been able to find online and research on my own.
Avatar n tn Ice it for discomfort I would say it is from Bleach. Bleach is toxic. And harmful to the body. Drink lots of water to flush your skin. Also, you may go in to a clique. There are some that don't charge.
1559007 tn?1294715408 What treatment plan is your son on for the eczema? My daughter has it. As long as she is using her ointment, she doesn't have a problem. If she stops using it and flares, she cannot tolerate even mildly warm water. We have found that sun exposure helps her very much. She only flares in the fall and winter when she doesn't get outside as much. This could be related to vitamin D levels. You may want to take you son to a dermatologist or allergist to find an effective treatment plan.
Avatar m tn I had to stop college, my immune feels now run down its almost 6 months later and still feel this itching on my skin, it almost crawls over my face this itchy feeling, I put lavender oil on my skin and it helps it, but still 6 months later it just doesn't go away. I have tried everything possible from Oregano oil for 2 months to really strong Probiotics, herbs, vitamins you name it. My diet would be a nutritionists dream diet, don't take added sugars etc.

Avatar n tn Hi I have a burning, itching sensation in between each of fingers on both hands and I'm struggling to identify what is causing it. I had same problem 6 months ago but much worse (it was summer 6 months ago and now it's middle of winter). I had the same swelling, burning and itching sensation but with heaps of clear tiny blisters on the side of my hands. Eventually it went away after multiple tries of different treatments.

Avatar f tn I would put gloves on just because being pregnant your skin is super sensitive. But using bleach is fine for both cleaning and doing your hair. I had to have my dr write a note for my employer on cleaning products I could and could not use and such. As long as your in a well ventilated Room . Better yet with windows open or the door (to outside) to make sure it gets aired out. Same with using hair dye . .
