Avatar f tn I had to have surgery for an ectopic pregnancy but the pregnancy hormones in my body did not return to normal so I had to go in for several shots. Did they give you methotrexate?
Avatar f tn What was the cause of your ectopic? If it was some pelvic infection like Chlamydia, testing and antibiotic treatment for this might be helpful to reduce the risk of a future ectopic. You should wait for at least two normal cycles or three months before trying to conceive again. This allows your body to recover from treatment and to prepare for next pregnancy. You can get pregnant and conceive normally with only one tube intact.
Avatar f tn Although an ectopic pregnancy does pose some risk to fertility because it can damage the fallopian tube, in most cases of methotrexate treatment, the fallopian tube that contained the ectopic pregnancy is found to be undamaged and open when a hysterosalpingogram (an X- ray test of the tube) is done about three to four months later. http://yourtotalhealth.ivillage.com/fertility-after-methotrexate-treatment.html Hope that helps and good luck!
Avatar n tn Last week I posted my concerns about bleeding and low progesterone levels during very early pregnancy. Yesterday, I found that it was ectopic. In the next few days I'll be given a shot to end this pregnancy. Needless, to say I'm very upset and worried. Will I be able to get pregnant again, this time for good? My doctor says we should try more aggresive treatment, meaning injectible hormones. Has anyone been in this situation? What are my chances? I'm 35 years old and have PCOS.
Avatar n tn I am 35 years old. My doctor suspected ectopic pregnancy when an ultrasound revealed no gestational sack. This is how it happened. Immediately after finding out I was pregnant (3 days of late period) I took a low dose of Methotrexate (25mg) and Misoprostol. Since I didn't get any bleeding following taking this medicine (which, incidentally was not given to me by a doctor but by a pharmacist friend) I had an appointment with my OBGYN and explained my situation.
Avatar f tn Hi I recently had surgery to remove and ectopic pregnancy . I had visited by GP 10 days earlier when I was 7 weeks and 4 days pregnant. My symptoms was light bleeding and really excruciating pain in my left side. It woke me up the night before at around 2 am and I physically couldnt move.
403255 tn?1278813266 First of all you are extremely lucky that they caught the ectopic pregnancy. They are extremely dangerous, it could have ruptured and you could have hemorrhaged/bled out. My sister had an ectopic, which caused her ovary to rupture. It was extremely painful and she very well could have bled to death if she wasn't rushed to the ER. They are intensely painful no matter where it occurs and I can imagine that a 1 cm wide tube wouldn't feel good being stretched to 2.
5218762 tn?1400180107 I recently had an ectopic pregnancy (09/04/2013 removal surgery) after having my right tube removed I was told I have slight damaged on my left tube. Wanting to get back to normal n feeling horny I insisted my partner bought condoms. We have had intercourse several times but some forgetting the condoms having previously been ttc. Is it too soon? Could I have caused more damage? I have been sooo moody today... I may be due "on" but what if its more and my body isn't ready?? HELP?

Avatar m tn Hello, The chances of having a successful pregnancy after an ectopic pregnancy depends on several factors like why you had a previous ectopic and your medical history. If your fallopian tubes have been intact, you have a good chance of having a successful pregnancy in the future .After an ectopic pregnancy the chances of having another ectopic are highly increased.
Avatar f tn hiya i am new to this, i had an ectopic pregnancy last sun i was 8 weeks preg and didnt know what on earth was going on, i had sickness passing out, bleeding i thought i was going to die!
Avatar m tn I had a ectopic pregnancy may 2010 I experienced sharp shooting pains from the very start of my pregnancy then had brown spotting. Went to hospital after numerous tests found out my pregnancy was ectopic in my left tube. Had laprascopy surgery they managed to save my tube as they said my other tube looked kinked so done this to increase my chances of concieving .
Avatar f tn Interesting......I honestly don't know whether you're experiencing a chemical or ectopic pregnancy. Usually when your #s bounce its ectopic so I'd be on the lookout. Are you having any pain at all on one side or another to maybe indicate which tube if it is ectopic?
Avatar m tn My wife just recently had an ectopic pregnancy surgery that left her in the hospital for more than 2 weeks. She lost her fallopian tube and was placed into a drug induced coma after losing too much blood and her oxygen levels went down to 60%. She has since mad a miraculous recovery and is home now. Unfortunately, she has begun having a sharp pain her upper back which has been centered just below her shoulder blade. It helps her when I massage it, but then it comes back shortly.

882810 tn?1255374562 i've had an ectopic pregnancy. my symptoms were pain in my right side and excessive bleeding with clots. symtoms do vary though and you're best to google them. my pain started 2 1/2 weeks after i had sex, but my pregnancy was right outside the ovary. the closer to the ovary, the more pain is involved. my right tube had to be removed as it was so far up the tube. if it's near the bottom of the tube, it may be possible to 'suck' the fetus out without removing the tube.

Avatar f tn Well you definitely don't have an ectopic pregnancy.you would never have made it till 18 weeks.
Avatar f tn Ive had one. Verrrry painful.
Avatar f tn Ectopic pregnancy is serious. So you're saying the radiologist could not tell if it was a cyst or an ectopic pregnancy? Do you have symptoms of ectopic pregnancy? Did you or your doctor do a pregnancy test? The urine one does not always show positive early on...not sure about the blood test. There is a medication they can give for ectopic pregnancy but it doesn't always work in which case surgery would be needed. It seems this all would have been explained to you.
Avatar f tn Can I get pregnant again after an ectopic pregnancy?... How long should I wait?
3221797 tn?1400853843 However medical management of ectopic pregnancy with help of methotrexate treatment will help to salvage the remaining tube. The pain and bleeding can be more than a normal period. But it would be best to see your Doctor. Testing for patency of the fallopian tube can be done at a later date. Consult your Doctor. The answer is based on information provided. Exact advice is not possible without a proper examination and investigations. You are requested to consult your Doctor.
Avatar n tn on this post it sounds like the doctor has CONFIRMED a 4 week ECTOPIC pregnancy....right? Okay, but if it was ectopic like I said above your doctor will tell you. So...what's going on...stories aren't matching.
Avatar f tn I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2006, after that started with various treatment options with no results. Two years later I had another ectopic pregnancy which cause me to loose the other tube. I had many tests done and they never found anything wrong but at the end there was something wrong. I will recomend you to go a safer route, maybe IUI or do the IVF. Hope you are doing ok. Take care!
Avatar f tn I'm 20+ wks, a FTM & Catholic which means I can't eat "meat" on Fridays till Palm Sunday... so what kind of fish/seafood can I eat?
