Eating right with pcos

Common Questions and Answers about Eating right with pcos

eating

Avatar f tn Measure it out to equal 2 ounces (it may seem like a little, but when you cook it up it does expand). It helps, because with having PCOS your body does not break down the food as fast as somebody who doesn't have PCOS. Also, just watch your portions. Try eating on a smaller plate as oppose to a big dinner plate. You wont be able to fill your plate to much without spilling it. Water is key to any diet. Try small first, start with 3 glasses of water with each meal of the day.
1907238 tn?1340711313 From what I have heard, from a friend that does not have any imbalance hormonally but does have trouble conceiving, met formin will cause you to ovulate. Met formin is the generic for glucophage, which is a diabetic medicine. Its primary use helps you digest sugars more efficiently and can assist in weight loss, but be careful it can also assist in weight gain. Make sure you are eating a healthy diet while you are on it, or else it might have reverse affects.

1217150 tn?1266699048 hi guys, i got diagnosed with pcos 3 weeks ago.
Avatar f tn Whatever hormon ur laking u will be given that pill and then start eating right and working out
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PCOS about 2 years ago, and was put on BC and Metformin. I never took the metformin but started to lose weight on my own. I am considered obese. I weighed 242 and am now at 231 at 5'4" not much, I know. That little bit of weight loss kick started my cycle. It was lasting every 42-46 days. 3 weeks ago I was due for my cycle and started spotting. Very little brown/pinkish mainly when I took a bm. Is has slowly gotten a bit heavier. But still just spotting.
Avatar f tn Are you taking any meds for your PCOS? If your having trouble with losing weight, then you may be insluin resistance (or maybe not). The common medication to take is Metformin. It helps with insluin levels and to lose weight. If your not big on going to a gym to work out, then I would suggest to try to take up walking atleast 30 mins a day, and maybe 60 on the weekends. Thats what I did and lost 50 +lbs. I take Meteformin 500mg 2X and it helps.
Avatar f tn s pms! I only recently got diagnosed with pcos and so my husband and I started eating much more carefully - more fruits and veggies, more exercise, smaller portions, not eating late in the day, more exercise, etc. And guess who got the results - my husband! Who only made those changes to support me not cuz he really needed to lose anything. So I will be more hard on myself and keeo trying!
1632323 tn?1425010283 So here's my PCOS, Metformin and soon to be clomid story.... After a long list of doctors and tests, I was finally diagnosed with PCOS, Being that I've been dealing with PCOS symptoms for as long as I can remember I have mixed emotions with my diagnosis.. Even a little anger that it has taken so many doctors and years to finally get an answer. I have always had a serious weight problem where I was fighting a losing battle no matter what I did the weight would still pack on.
Avatar f tn I am 22 and have been recently diagnosed with PCOS, my OBGYN reccommended that when i want to try for children she would put me on metformin. I was wondering what the success rate is? or if i there something with a higher success rate?
Avatar f tn ve done some research and my fertilty DR told me that clomid isnt as good for people with PCOS like fermera is. Also you have a less miscarriage risk with fermera. So id go with fermera.
1649405 tn?1366257026 s essentially a hormone imbalance that causes this. Pregnancy is possible with PCOS but it may take a little longer ttc. I was treated by my GYN for PCOS and now my reproductive endocrinologist going thru ivf but for many other reasons in addition to PCOS. Limiting sugar intake helps and seeing a natural healing professional for acupuncture are things I do as well. They are very helpful suggesting supplements and more natural ways of coping with this.
Avatar f tn My husband and have been trying for years to have another baby our children are 20 and 13 with 2 mc I was told that I have pcos and have a slim chance to none to conceive just wondering if there is any success stories out there??
325224 tn?1342795914 I have an 8 week old little girl and I was diagnosed about 5 years with PCOS. ( It took the 5 years to get pregnant after exercising like a mad women and eating as healthy as i could) What i'm wondering is if symptoms for PCOS will sometimes subside or even just get better after having a child? I feel like my metabolism is on speed right now....don't get me wrong, i'm not complaining, I just want to know if this seems normal or plausible.
Avatar m tn Slightly weird background, I went into a reproductive endocrinologist (only one who wasn't afraid to treat a former eating disorder despite not wanting a baby) and came out diagnosed with PCOS (her specialty, ironically). I had orthorexia when I was 18/19 and was around 70 lbs at 5'5" 6 years ago. I recovered completely on my own with no intervention and my weight shot up (uncontrollably, trust me) to 170.
4835896 tn?1369369421 I eat grapes,1/2 an apple with a few cubes of cheese in AM, something with bread in the later afternoon and then dinner, if im not too tired when i get home from work, But honestly, I will snack around dinner time if im not craving a full meal.
Avatar f tn Is anyone having problems with not wanting to eat? Before I was pregnant I ate about twice a day. But now I've tried to make a conscious effort to eat three times a day plus a snack right before bed. I started having problems a while ago with getting nauseated after I get hungry if i don't eat right then. Then just recently I started getting cold sweats and dizziness. I saw my doctor yesterday and apparently I've lost the 5 pounds I had originally gain when I first got pregnant.
1124862 tn?1303850973 I have a kinda weird question that im not sure how to post... I have been diagnosed with PCOS but have not been treated for it... nor have much information about it...I had been ttc before diagnosis with no luck and now my husband is deployed and coming back soon, we want to continue ttc.
1002364 tn?1250107254 t think so, pcos is caused normally by insulin resistance which can be made worse by eating high sugar and high carbohydrate diets.
