597160 tn?1254498907 Poor you - I feel your frustration. Your husband is very seriously morbidly obese, and seems to show no interest in doing anything about it. It sounds like he doesn't even care that he's that big. Clearly the serious health problems his family have suffered haven't been enough to scare him into doing something. 34 is young, too, to have got so bad - there are atheletes on their way back from Beijing with medals round their neck that are his age.
Avatar f tn I used to be active, but a lot changed in my life and I was unable to find the time to exercise (worked 2 jobs to support a family) and no money for the healthier food choices. Ever since then, I have lost any motivation to lose weight or eat right and exercise. I have a 1 year old now and I packed on too much weight when I was pregnant. I do not feel comfortable with my body and I need yo get rid of this unhealthy mindset. What have been some things that have helped you?

I have been eating NON-STOP now for the last three weeks. Nothing fits...which makes me feel worse, and swimsuit season is around the corner. Can someone help motivate me?
Avatar n tn Hi there, best trick of all. Don't stop eating what you love! Everything in moderation. You're more inclined to eat better if you like the food. Try eating 80% healthy and reward yourself with something not so healthy. Remember, small proportions are key. Good luck!

I can get to a medium top, I haven't been in less than a 9 in pants since before high school. I'm in an 11/12-13 now I had a baby 13 months ago, and it is hard as heck to lose the weight.

11722359 tn?1420664489 Its a lot of work but once you find your motivation, the right foods you like, get a routine, and figure the whole portions thing out its easy and the hardwork starts to become rewarding. Also I'm doing this new thing called the 3 day military diet. You follow a strick diet for 3 days and in the 4th day eat normal but you gotta stay below 1800 calories watch the carb intake. The diet promises up to 10lbs loss in 3 days. I'm on day 2 and I've lost 4.7lbs and 2 inches in my waist.
4341997 tn?1514588688 thanks OpenMind! yes I think of all this stuff i would like to be doing, plant some flowers outside, walk more, etc...get to the beach again...but since i work alot, i just veg out when i get home...lol i just came off a 3 week stretch last week with no days off really so i'm still tired..but i'm hoping it gets better with time....can't even think about taking a pill right now, even if it is for depression...lol I don't think i'm depressed...just need some motivation...
Avatar f tn Ok, so I really don't have much weight to lose (approx 15 lbs). It's mostly around my tummy. I had a baby 8 months ago and my goal is to get my flat stomach back by summer (Memorial Day). I don't have a problem with exercise. I can walk/run every day, the problem is my eating....which I know is the reason for my flabby belly (aside from being pregnant as well). I would just like to know what keeps everyone motivated, etc... I like to eat, and not healthy stuff, unfortunately.

Avatar f tn I am 41 and seeing 6 doctors, taking 7 prescriptions, had 2 strokes, high BP, etc... I have testing and other appts at least twice a week. This is no way to live. Most came from being overweight (5'4" 208lbs) and high cholesteral. Eating the right foods and right portions is everything! I've lost 11lbs in <month. You can do it once you put your mind to it!! I am currently 3 weeks (I know im super early) but I was having lots of cramps and pains. Went to the er and found out im pregnant. Was told by the doctor to do a follow up with a gyn. I do so the same day. Now my hcg levels decreased from the time I was in the er to the time I was in the gyn office on the same day. I now may be going through a miscarriage right now.
Avatar f tn Aww, Tooter sorry you are feeling this way. I think it's normal and we have to just accept the ups and downs. I'm not motivated either; it's all I can do to get to work and parent my girlie. I keep saying I'm going to exercise, but I haven't. I also think we have to give time time- that dreader word. I went to a meeting last night and one of the topics was "Don't give up right before the miracle happens". I think your miracle is around the corner!
