Avatar f tn For about 4 years one of my friends has been talking about the EAT RIGHT FOR YOUR BLOOD TYPE book. I thought it was a bunch of non sense, but a couple of years ago I did try to find out my blood type and none of the nurses I asked could find it. Well, some of you know I just had a baby (see Having a Seroquel baby on Med Help) I found out I have O positive blood, my baby had A positive and it could have been a medical problem, but thankfully she is doing well.

Avatar f tn I hear the desperation in your plea for help. I have been in the same place of desperation and can say that i agree with Shannon above. However, if I may add something more. Getting the help that we need from a medical professional is very much needed but when we feel desperate it may feel way too slow. I have gone to a stress center ( in a hospital) for more immediate, focussed help (not just waiting for next weeks appt to talk to someone).

This is particularly true for type 2 diabetes, though it can also be relevant in type 1. This is why one of the ways to help manage diabetes is to optimize weight. Avatar n tn I agree with ES on this, too. I'm also not a physician (still! ;-) ) but I have read that even non-diabetics bg rises after carbos. Their/Your wonderful body responds to the presence of glucose in the blood by squirtin' just exactly the right dose of insulin to bring you back into normal ranges. It's amazing for me to think about this really -- your body doesn't need a meter or strips or even fresh vials of insulin!!

4835896 tn?1369369421 The most difficult thing for me now that I'm pregnant is eating the way I should . I literally eat breakfast around 1 & I won't eat again until 5 . The crazy part is , during that Time period I'm never hungry .. this has been going on for months now . It worries me that my baby wouldn't be healthy but every time I go to the Dr everything seems to be fine .. he measures correctly & I've gained 30 pounds so far (33w+3d) .. how is this even possible when I barely eat ?

4726133 tn?1361989773 You got some good advice and suggestion..it takes time to make all the right changes and you can't do it overnight...just have to keep working on it...one thing I will disagree with is the steak...went from stage 2 cirrhois to stage 4 in 2 yrs and only dietry change was eating a lot of steak. when I was stage 2 my hepotologist, who is one of the leading in the nation, said to cut out the red meats, charcoaled & fried foods and processed meats and cheeses. Ignored him.

I'm a 6'4", 26-year-old male, and former athlete) and have been exercising 5-6 days a week, for about 90 minutes a workout. 2/3 of that is doing cardio, and about 1/3 is weight lifting, etc. I'm far more concerned with losing weight/fat than building any type of significant muscle mass.
Avatar m tn You need muscle to burn calories and as we get older we lose muscle. Look for some type of weight training you can do with your condition; a pilates machine may be something to consider. I have an Aero Pilates machine, a mid-price range one that I found on Craig list used. You can buy these new on QVC also; go to their website and type in Aero Pilates to watch one of their presentations. I love my pilates machine it really helps my joints and builds lean muscle.

Personally I avoided my favourites for the 1st week when things tasted really 'wrong' and found sipping iced tea and sucking on lollies/hard candy helped sooth my throat and ease the horrible metallic tang. When I felt like eating, I went for stronger flavours (but without strong smell as strong smells made me feel more nauseous) to offset the taste.
