Avatar f tn It's not the raw egg that will cause you to miscarry, it's the salmonella you could get from a raw egg. But most eggs are fine, I've never had salmonella poisoning and I've been eating g cookie dough and fried eggs over easy all my life.... It's just a precaution for pregnany mothers .. I'm sure you'll be fine just be aware from now until you deliver.
Avatar f tn I'm a ftm so I don't know if eating a pie that has raw eggs in it is bad for the baby. I have been eating this pie my whole life and many pregnant woman in my family have too. I just wonder because my step mom said its bad and she is a RN. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn People crack raw eggs into their healthy shakes, and egg nog has raw eggs in it. Some of these cautions are way over blown. The CDC estimates that one in 20,000 eggs is contaminated with salmonella. The chances that THAT egg will be consumed raw is miniscule.
Avatar m tn You have to be very careful in eating raw eggs because of Salmonella. if you can find a farm that only has free range chickens that would be the only ones to eat. Still you have to be very, very careful!!!
Avatar n tn This is my third pregnancy and with my other two I had eggs all the time but someone recently told me I shouldn't.
Avatar f tn As safe as it would be when you're not pregnant, which is to say not really. Raw eggs put you at risk for salmonella.
Avatar f tn Some caesar dressing is made with raw eggs I believe and that is why it is a problem. But I was craving caesar salads in my first and now this pregnancy and I have it regularly.. The cold lunch meat is more concerning Deli meats which can have Listeria and make you sick. You would end up eating nothing if you listened to all the rules. Everything in moderation is the key.
7945295 tn?1397658820 Eggs for me. Cooked eggs too. I don't really like raw meat smell but I don't have a choice if I want to eat it cooked.
403255 tn?1278813266 Did a little Googling for you! One site says: "Raw eggs or undercooked eggs have the potential to contain Salmonella. Raw eggs are often included in many commercial products including Egg Nog and some forms of Caesar salad dressing. Be sure to check out the labels before you consume any of these products. Signs of salmonella food poisoning may include: fever, abdominal cramps and diarrhea.
Avatar f tn I was reading that it's best not to eat anythjng with raw eggs in it. I've been craving brownies but that does have raw eggs in it. Can I still eat brownies? or is it best not to risk it?
Avatar f tn You can eat tuna just no more than 2 small cans a week and not raw! Have to make sure all meat and eggs are cooked all the way through. Can't eat unpasturised cheese, seafood is fine as long as its cooked properly.
1140272 tn?1282497378 That should be fine, If there were raw eggs it would say something like raw eggs don't eat unless cooked or something like that. I agree, I LOVE the batter much better than the end product!
4185614 tn?1353272513 Iam 20weeks n been eating egg since I was 16weeks. Fried eggs mostly was having egg mayo until another prego women at work told me it was bad for the bby. Why thoe?
Avatar f tn Shouldn't be, no :)
Avatar n tn As long as not raw its fine. Eggs are a good sorce of protein & B12! Helps with energy. Wity runny yoke does not mean its raw! As long as the whites not runny !
Avatar n tn Yep, I remember snitchin a little taste of raw cookie dough as a child in the 60s, straight thru my young married days. (Thats why Cookie Dough ice cream is so popular today!) Around the time my kid was born in the 80s, they had started telling us how dangerous "licking the bowl" is. Its the EGGS! The eggs are dangerous to consume raw (or raw-ish) because chicken pathogens are INSIDE the chicken eggs. Different pathogens than in the 60s/70s, they say.
Avatar m tn It's for cooked eggs, since eating raw eggs can be dangerous. However, raw eggs actually help fight cholesterol because raw egg yolks contain the best quality lecithin of any food, and lecithin helps liquefy cholesterol and keep it moving. Remember, cholesterol by itself isn't dangerous, it's only when it oxidizes that it is. I don't think the latest research backs up such a strict restriction on egg consumption.
Avatar m tn Again...i repeat...no raw eggs while on tx drugs....
Avatar f tn *love eating them
229760 tn?1291467870 I was just reading that ceasar salads were on the list of "no, no" foods? Blue cheese is too but I eat it once a week at a restaurant where I love it. My cravings change alot, but mexican food has been high on my list. Right now I know I am craving something, I just wish I could figure out what it is!
Avatar f tn you could prob have a little..but i heard your not supposed to because of the raw eggs in it. you could get listeria. but i admit i have had it before and also i eat the brownie mix when i make em!
Avatar m tn I saw someone suggested to steam it instead of eating raw. Please kindly comment. Currently the list of veggies I used for juicing are: Garlic Onion broccoli Beetroot cucumber lemons Apples pears grapes celery carrots Ginger Green leafs (all kinds, like cabbage, kale, Lettuce, etc) Another related question. I know meat is not healthy for us. Fish seems OK, but in USA here most fishes are farm raised (including salmon), which means lots of GMO added - probably not good as well.
10798025 tn?1413299278 I was thinking the same thing when I saw cookie dough at the store yesterday... Lol this is a great question!
Avatar f tn If you were concerned about the eggs having salmonella you wouldn't eat them whether pregnant or not. Many countries easy raw eggs. The chances are very small. A bite or two won't do any harm. Salmonella is food poisoning. A bit of diarrhea won't hurt you or baby. America has everyone's panties in a bundle over it. Your way more likely to get ecoli. My mother got that and all most died.
